We've been hesitant to try this based on prior reviews. I don't think we'll be back anytime soon. Main reason, there's hardly anyone working!! These employees are overwhelmed! The drive thru and walk in customers, plus online orders and you have only two employees?! Not sure if it's an employee issue or a management/owner issue, but get it together! We ordered online for pickup and our order was not ready at the allotted time. My husband said the two employees were way overworked and there was too much business for only two employees. I ordered the Club on a Sub and it was mediocre at best. It was quite tasteless honestly. Could have used more filling inside tasted mostly bread and some bacon. My husband ordered the Spicy Dill Hook & Ladder and the employee warned him how spicy it was. He said it wasn't spicy at all and thinks they gave him the Zesty Garlic Hook & Ladder instead. He said it was decent, but he was expecting spicy. I do have to say his had a lot more filling than mine did. I know they are fairly newer but I hope they can get it together or they might fail and I'd hate to see that. read more

This is actually a 3.5 star review. First I will set the stage. My husband and I (both 40s) and both indecisive and pretty hungry bordering on hangry. I had mentioned a few days ago that I wanted to start trying some of the places in our city that we haven't tried and that is how we ended up at Firehouse. It was my first time trying Firehouse but my husband has been to the Lehi location. Pros first as usual - the food was good. I got the Italian Salad with grilled chicken (light Italian dressing) and a cup of chili. My husband got the Hook and Ladder. There was an option for fountain or bottled beverages and we both opted for fountain. I devoured my salad. It looked fresh and appetizing and tasted the way it looked. The chili was decent but nothing to write home about as it lacked a bit of spice. I ate about half but the reason I stopped was because I was full, not because I didn't like it. My husband really enjoyed his sandwich and ate most of it. The employees were average on the friendly scale so that was also ok. Now the cons - the restaurant dining area was visibly in need of a wipe and a sweep. It was crumby in the sense that there were crumbs all over. The decoration was minimal and sparse but I think that was intentional. There wasn't a single table that we could sit at where the sun wasn't glaring in one of our eyes and no shades available. That made for a bit of an uncomfortable dining experience. Lastly, when we arrived I asked for the chicken and dumpling soup but was informed that they were out of all of their soups. This rating really hurts me to give since I have always been a big fan of firehouse. But this location has some serious issues that need to be resolved. The food itself hasn't been bad, once you get it. The problem is that the time it takes to get the food is an insane amount of time. The staff is nice and friendly but I cannot wrap my head around the length of time it takes to make the food and get it to the customers. read more

As promised, I'm updating my review based on a much better experience. I got that pickle that I asked for. I also looked at my tomatoes and they were great. The construction materials that were in the dining room are all cleaned up. The service was fast and friendly. I wish there was a way to keep the food mess inside the sandwich. The little carton that contained my sandwich had a big glob of mayo on it. Since they don't give you a bag for one sandwich, you have to set your mayoey carton on the seat of the car, running the risk of mayo in the upholstery. Not sure what the solution is there. Unless you don't have anything going on for several hours, don't go here. I keep coming back thinking they will get their act together and it's the same story. Slow, slow, slow. They seem to only make one sandwich at a time and even then getting the order right is a toss up. Everyone moves so slow, I don't get it. The entire staff seems disinterested in their job. If you want firehouse, you should drive to the one in Thanksgiving point. You get your food faster with quick service before you'll get your food here. Word to management, fix this. I've been wanting to try this place since it opened up a few months ago. I've learned over time that new places in Saratoga Springs need some time to get their act together after opening up. Over the months I've seen quite few people on the local Facebook group complain about the wait times. I decided to give it a go on a Saturday around 1:20pm. We waited in line and finished ordering around 1:28pm. We got two kid's meals and I ordered a Firehouse Steak & Cheese. They finally got our order done around 2:00pm. That's a little too long to wait for subs for me. My daughter got a Grilled Cheese and only finished one half because she didn't really like it. My son liked his Turkey and Cheese sub. I was okay with the Steak & Cheese. The wait time is a deal breaker for me. I have no desire to wait that long to get a sub. On top of that they ask for donations and also a tip at the end of the transaction. The donation part bothers me less but I've gotten fed up with tipping for places where you are standing when ordering and not being offered any additional service beyond the standard service that everybody else gets. I already wouldn't go again because of the wait time, but I've made it a rule for myself to not go to a place again if they ask for a tip and it's not a sit down and be served style restaurant. read more

I went in tonight, and there were 4 people (two groups of two) in the dining room. The place didn't seem busy at all. I placed my order and sat down to wait. And wait ... and wait ... and wait ... it took 35+ minutes to get my order! There were few cars I saw go through the drive thru, and 2-3 online orders people came in to collect, but that was it. I almost went and asked for a refund so I could go somewhere else. The people working didn't seem to know what they were doing. The girl taking my order didn't even know where the sides were on the ordering system and had to ask for help. The few customers who came in for online orders had to wait 10 minutes or so themselves. My husband ordered a cup of soup with his sandwich. It was barely half full, and they gave him the wrong kind (didn't know this until we got home). We got the kid's grilled cheese for my son and he took one bite and said it tasted like "nothing." I tried it and immediately agreed. The bread wasn't even toasted, but somehow the cheese was melted? We threw it away and I made him one at home. My opinion ... they opened too quickly and did not provide enough training. We like their food, but now I'm nervous to go back unless we know things have improved. It will be awhile before we go back (if they stay open). read more

Ordered two meatball subs; it was busy we waited for maybe 10 minutes. They called our name and had one available said they'd have the other one available asap. Waited another 10 minutes and then went up to ask about it; they said they forgot and made one real quick. The issue was the meatballs were ICE COLD in the center. We just left. Disappointing review because of how much I like FH, but this location is mismanaged and under-trained. Its not busy and a single sandwich takes 20+ minutes. staff is nice but obviously a little loss. I've been here 4 times since opening and just can't go back again until issue resolved. 2 visits my sandwich was wrong. 1 visit my sandwich was right but looked like it was shaken in the box. 4th time was actually a door dash order that DD cancelled cause they took over an hour. read more

I tried this place last night and was looking forward to it and it's my first time trying Firehouse Subs. It's a new location but as one of the other reviews said...they opened too soon without properly planning and training their staff. I got the New York Steamer and a cup of soup and ended up throwing the food in the trash. The sandwich had a heavy smell of tuna when it's supposed to be pastrami and corned beef. The packaging was not the nicest...the paper bag with one cup of soup was just greased up from their hands/gloves. It smelled gross that I was afraid to open the soup so everything was trashed. I ended up going to Wendy's as a backup and thank goodness I did because the sub and soup were unappetizing. The Staff seemed to be young and were trying their best but they needed an experienced restaurant manager. If nothing is improved this place will not survive. Huge let down. read more

Yikes. First of all, things have got to be PRETTY BAD for me to write a negative review. I like to hype the great places and not focus on the bad. However, this was my first visit to the new Saratoga Springs location and... woof. Pulling up to the drive thru order board, we were waiting for any kind of response, and wondered if they had said something, and we just missed it, so we started ordering. I don't know if it's a problem with the speakers/systems (hopefully not, because it's a brand new location??) or if the girl didn't know how to operate it. I think it might be the latter, considering she kept asking us to repeat the order over and over and over and over again. "Can I get extra au jus with my French dip?" Was said about 6 times before we had to just say, "The dipping sauce. Extra dipping sauce." Speaking of au jus, we paid the extra dollar for it, as well as the $3 tip, and didn't get ANY au jus (unfortunately we only found out when we got home)... Really long wait, the sandwiches were soggy and falling apart, and I agree with the other reviews regarding the fact that it seems to just be a bunch of kids messing around, with one, MAYBE two actually making sandwiches. I'm hoping that leaving this review will make some kind of a difference. If not within Firehouse itself, then at least I can let people know to check their orders/sandwiches before leaving, and maybe wait a few months before trying this location out. Delicious. I hate going to the Lehi one because they never seem to get the order correct so I drive all the way to American Fork because they do a great sandwich. Now, I have one close by in Saratoga Springs and they're great and consistent. I've been there 3 times already and they make great sandwiches. A plus is that it also has a drive thru. Also, very friendly employee at the drive thru window. read more

Nope. Don't bother going here. Been twice. Same sandwich. Correct on the receipt. Both times, wrong when it came to us. Still sitting here waiting. It's been over 30 minutes waiting for the correct sandwich. Construction equipment still out. Slow service. I have been called to the counter twice now to say "medium on white, hot pastrami, provolone, yellow mustard, light lettuce" so less ingredients then usual. 3 people in our party. Waited over 20 minutes for three sandwiches. In the drive thru "it's an extremely tight fit for a truck wouldn't recommend trying it".They weren't busy and had 6 employees working. Only one employee was doing any work. The other five were walking around and appeared to not know what to do. After receiving our sandwiches only one of the three was correct. I understand it's probably most of the employees first job. Maybe they just need some adult supervision. 10 out of 10 would not recommend. read more

I want the new businesses to succeed and my experience was this place was a little slower, the food had a lot of mayo/sauce. I'm disappointed this location does not have the cherry limeade available because they bought the cheaper coke machine. The garbages need lids. I'll try again a in a few months. read more

Went through the drive thru tonight for 3 sandwiches. While sitting in the drive thru, we could see that there were six employees working. Only one employee was making sandwiches while almost everyone else stood and watched or helped a small amount. All employees looked to be young kids with no supervision and they stood around talking a lot of the time. It took 25 minutes for our sandwiches and they weren't even the right sandwiches when we got home and opened them. We will not be returning to this location as we were pretty upset. Would not recommend this location. read more
