If I could leave a negative rating I would. We ordered a sandwich and a salad last night through DoorDash. The bag arrived sealed. The sandwich had hair all through it, so much hair that it looks like it was intentionally done. We will never be eating here again! I attempted to call the store multiple times - the call was disconnected each time. I returned the sandwich to the store this morning where the manager said she wouldn't apologize because the hair was planted. She gave me a refund minus the sales tax. I've found out today this store has so many bad reviews, from the public and past employees, all who say never eat here. Not sure why the corporate office would allow one location to continue to operate with their name attached. I'll be contacting the health department. read more

We got 2 sandwiches and we were overall happy. The bread was a little dry but we did order late at night so maybe it was just dried out a little from sitting out. My husband also had Mayo after we said no Mayo on the online order. The sandwiches had plenty of meat tho and was super tasty. read more

I've been to a lot of Firehouse Subs and the main difference between this one and the others is that the employees generally say welcome to Firehouse Subs instead of a glare that says "oh no, another customer I have to wait on"! I almost don't blame her since the business was so understaffed. I counted two employees at lunch time! Service was as slow as you would expect from the lack of employees. Ridiculous since it's our group of six and two other customers in the store. When the sandwiches were finally ready after 30 minutes, none were served with a pickle. This place is a blight on the Firehouse name! One last point, most Firehouse Subs have a great selection of hot sauces, clearly marked with temperature levels from 1 to 10. This store had three empty bottles on the shelf that I threw away, leaving about 6 different bottles, mostly unrated as to hot level. Most stores have at least 15. I would never patronize this particular store again. read more

8/19/22 630 PM. First, I walked into an empty store & wasn't greeted by the three young teenagers working. I placed an order and was the only customer for about 15 mins. It took over 20 mins for my sub to be made and then they forgot my add ons! And the sub I ordered comes with bacon - and guess what? No bacon. Every customer who came after me was greeted and their orders started being made with a sense of urgency as soon as they placed it... was it because I'm Black? Hmm I'll never know because i won't be back to this expensive ass mediocre representation of a usually delicious sub joint. I can't believe I'm saying this but the subways & Jersey Mikes in the area are WAY better, faster, and better customer service by far! I tried to call & tell them my order was wrong and of course they didn't answer - first and last time, they wont have to worry about me or my people giving our hard earned money to this piss poor establishment. This is probably the dirtiest firehouse location I've ever been in and I've been to a lot.. it looks like it hasn't been swept or wiped down in months. One worker was crying and the other was coughing up their lungs while touching my food. I haven't tried my food yet but i only keep returning because usually it's a good sandwich. If you want less than stellar customer service that doesn't even know the details of the company's own pepper sauce, this is a place for you. If you want one sandwich to be chewy because of stale bread, this is the place for you. Or, if you want a sandwich so soaking wet it is more like mopping your to-go container with old bread, definitely a place for you. When half a sandwich turns in a soggy mass as it soaks up all the moisture, it leave for a very unsatisfying meal. It's rare I update a review to go lower instead of higher. After a couple years of avoiding this Firehouse like the plague because of the crappy experiences we'd had previously, we decided to give it a try. Terrible idea. Nothing has changed in regard to the total lack of friendliness from the staff, slow and careless way the food is made, and the sandwich itself.... cringeworthy. I'm sorry to be harsh. But my beef and cheddar brisket was basically all fat. I couldn't get past the first bite, and that I spit into a napkin. Yikes on all accounts. I also watched a staff member arrive at work, and just jump straight into it without any kind of de-germing routine or anything. I shudder to think. read more

Terrible customer service, Jamaican Jerk sandwich was just so-so and they didn't send the correct chips or the correct number of bags of chips. We also ordered a gallon of tea but the delivery driver said they were out of gallon containers so they didn't send ANYTHING, even tho we paid for it! We asked why they couldn't call to ask what we'd like to do or just send 2-3 large cups with tea but got no answer other than they'd give it to us if we'd come get it. Come get it? I've genuinely never been so uncomfortable at a restaurant in my life. When you walk in instead of the usual pleasant, "welcome to firehouse" that you get at other locations I was started at in silence as I walked to the register. I ordered a veggie sub, no mayo, add jalapeños. Apparently this was a complicated order for Cassie. The sub is advertised as a hot sub with sautéed peepers and onions. Along with provolone, cheddar, and Montgomery jack cheese. When I received it my sandwich was not warmed, there was mayonnaise, no jalapeños, and the skimpiest amount of vegetables I've ever seen on a sandwich. When I tried showing her how the sandwich is advertised on the app she began arguing with me that she's "never made it that way". If she was incorrectly trained that's one thing but the attitude and way she threw the sandwich down and yelled for the cashier when I asked for a refund (because at this point I was uncomfortable and just wanted fo go) was uncalled for. As someone who works in the food service industry I just can't get over this incident and it's sadly put a stain on the firehouse brand for me. read more

The subs are good, the service is abysmal. I've never been there when more than 2 people were working. It's always so slow that I thought I'd try the app and give then a 20 minute head start. Didn't help a bit - I still had to wait 20 minutes after I got there. And neither employee ever spoke to me the entire time I was there. I love Firehouse Subs, but this location needs new management. No food environment should operate in such filthy conditions. The health score should probably be worse than the "B" rating that hangs on the wall. Under the drink machine is caked-up floor crud, dropped drink lids, and trash build up from who knows when. The floors look like they haven't been swept in a week, and the trash cans were due for some TLC a while ago. Inside the cooler containing water bottles is also dirty, and the counter it sits on is even worse. Stocking boxes left out in the middle of the restaurant, keep guests from finding room to dine, and the chips were in desperate need of restocking. If the dining area is this disturbing, I can only imagine what the kitchen area looks like. It starts with leadership, and someone isn't very good at basic housekeeping! Horrible service, I understand this is not fast food but, waited 10 minutes to order, took the money then had to wait 30 minutes to get my sandwich. And for the owner I'm here Wednesday may 6th been here since 635 it's now 7:13 and no food. No ice to. I agree with another poster - Publix does make the best subs. However, Publix is not a restaurant, and you can't sit down and eat your fresh sub inside Publix. I know. I tried. They weren't happy about it... LOL Anyway, Firehouse Subs is by far the best sub place in Winder. Firehouse's worst sandwich is still about a million times better than a sub from Subway. If you want a good sandwich, this is the place to go. The prices are a little steep, but they're not much more expensive than Subway. Given the quality difference, Firehouse is definitely worth the price. My favorite? The corned beef sub. It's just awesome. All of Firehouse's sandwiches come with fresh pickles, which is also a plus in my book. I also like the variety in fountain drinks. read more

I went to get a couple subs around 7:30pm one night and the staff acted as if they were clocked out and closed. I was at a loss of words when the cashier was more interested texting than taking my order. This place was great the first few years and has fallen off a cliff recently. The last couple times they were out of pickles and I guess too lazy to make tea. I don't know how they managed to get a black curly hair in the middle of my sub where they cut in half, but they did. read more

Every time I come to this location there's always something wrong. They've been "out of bread" on more than one occasion. Last time, they couldn't get a simple order correct to save their lives. This time the Coke Freestyle machine was practically empty - half of the soda options were out. After dispensing something, it turned out flat (no carbonation) so we tried a different one. It too was flat. When we asked, we were told "Yeah, it's been that way all day." To which our reply was "Well, if you knew that, why wouldn't you think to tell us that when you sold us a drink!?" The first time I visited this location I came 10 minutes before they closed. I didn't realize it was so late, regardless, I was told that they had already turned the steamers off and couldn't serve me... Why are you open if you're not serving guests?
