Over the last decade, my wife and I have taken our three children, as well as their various friends, boyfriends, and girlfriends to easily twenty different programs. However, I will admit that I might be a little biased, as the BGSU Planetarium is where I took my wife on our first date back in 1994. If you are familiar, it goes like this ... When you drive to the BGSU campus, park in Lot H, at the corner of East Merry Avenue and North College Drive, which is right in front of the Psychology Building. The sign says Faculty / Staff Parking Only, but planetarium shows are late enough that in 25 years we have never once gotten a ticket. The walk from Lot H to the Physical Sciences Laboratory Building will take you approximately 90 seconds. If you are not sure which building to aim for, go towards the one that has the giant, 2-story high white golf ball in front of it: that is the dome of the planetarium. The building entrance is located immediately past the dome, just follow the sidewalk. On entering the building, you will be greeted by either a student operator, Dr. Smith (the planetarium director since 1983), or both. As they hand you a program for the night's show, they will tell you that the best seats are the in back. This advice is very true, and to get the most of your show, you should sit as far back in the planetarium as you can get (we try to get there early, in order to score seats in the last row). At the designed time, Dr. Smith will step to the centre of the room where he will explain the layout of the planetarium, then the student console operator will douse the lights and Dr. Smith will give the audience a brief tour of the night sky. After pausing for questions, the show will start using the full-dome video projectors. Once the show itself is over, Dr. Smith will take questions from the audience on all topics relating to astronomy, astrophysics, and planetary exploration. Then, if the night sky is clear, he will invite the audience to join him for a stargaze on the roof of the building, often using the university's .5 meter telescope. The weather at the 6th floor roof is both cooler and much windier than it is on the ground, so be sure to dress appropriately! Happy stargazing!

I'm glad I called before I bought our tickets because they say you can drink before you get there, but not in the class unless you have a private party. I don't understand why this would have a title of "UNCORK the artist" and be advertised in the category of "drinking and painting" when you're not allowed to actually drink THERE.
