Be prepared to entirely manage the project completely by yourself. I had a very poor experience with the fireplace concepts team from ordering parts to installation. Customer service was absolutely terrible. Below is more details on my experience. If I could give 0 stars I would. Once I had the gas log set picked out, I had a tough time getting their team to contact me back by e-mail and phone. They were very unresponsive. I finally placed an order for my log set, and had to keep on them for tracking the gas log sets to setup install. From my conversation with them it seemed they did not want to do the gas line install and told me to contact the propane company to do the install. I contacted several propane companies, and they told me they absolutely do not do this, it is the responsibility of the installer. I had to reach back out to get a new quote, which took several calls and emails. Finally after 2 weeks parts were ordered, and payment was sent. Then after not hearing from them for 2 weeks I called back to see status of my logs and install. Lucky that I called, because parts were in their warehouse, but they failed to make contact and schedule an install appointment. This timing was important because I also needed to coordinate myself with the propane installer as to when they need to come hook up my propane. Now this has been ongoing for 3-4 weeks, and they say they will be onsite in early January. 8 weeks after I was in their store and they told me it would take 2-3 weeks to get everything ordered and installed. Finally, the install date has come, and I have taken off work to be there. They were scheduled to arrive first thing in the morning. They did not show, and I could not contact them till 9am at which I found out they double booked me and went to a different jobsite. So then I had to contact the propance company last minute to setup a new schedule due to fireplace concepts mistake. They showed up to my house around noon to do the job. During the install they damaged my internet line coming into the house, leaving me to call and schedule metronet to come out and fix it the next afternoon. Once they completed the job, the installer left my house with very little training and walkthrough on how to use the set. Big thanks to Southern States propane because they stayed behind and walked through the setup and safety features several times with me. I was also left with cleaning up several cigarette butts on my property, and they were even standing right next to my trash cans. read more

Called these guys for a fireplace repair; system would not light. They came promptly; the technician was pleasant and professional; he did a terrific cleaning and solved my problem. It not only works fine; but it looks better than ever. No mess either. Great job! read more

Wanted to have my gas logs/fireplace inspected for safety. Without seeing the unit Mike told me over the phone it was too old and come out to see a new one. I went out to their show room to check out a new one and that's when the joke began. I walked in and four sales people at the front desk just stared. I spoke and explained why I was there. The woman looked like a dear caught in headlights, the black man smirked, and the other two men just looked lost. Finally, one of the men asked for my name and looked on the computer informing me I wasn't in their files. That didn't surprise me. I was waiting for one of them to offer to help. That didn't happen. They just continued to stare so I left. To say this was unprofessional is an understatement. I went directly to Housewarmings. Their tech is looking at my fireplace as I'm typing this review. Surprise - I do not need anything for the gas logs to work properly but a cleaning. Stay away from Fireplace Concepts. They have other bad reviews. read more

Very Rude Owner: After waiting 3 weeks to get a repair appointment, I was given a window for the repair visit from 2 to 3. At 4, an hour late, I received another call telling me they will be there from 6 to 7. At 7, I finally get a 3rd call telling me that they will not be able to make it at all, and that I will have to call tomorrow to reschedule, again. But is gets worse . . . While such postponements are understandable, the owner who cancelled was the worst type of an arrogant, entitled jerk. He actually scolded me for feeling frustrated that I had put my whole day & night on hold waiting for their visit. I cannot remember being treated with such anger and disrespect by a business owner, especially when they were 100% in the wrong. While I do not subscribe to the idea that the customer is always right, I do believe that when a company makes a mistake, they should, at the very least, apologize and be polite to their patrons. Instead, I was confronted with unapologetic arrogance, misdirected anger, and unprofessionalism (from the owner). After this conversation, I cancelled all future interactions with this company, no longer feeling comfortable or safe with inviting this man into my home. Not sure about how their service is because can not even get an appointment scheduled. I have emailed and left 3 messages and no one will call me back to schedule a service. The lady I spoke to the other day guaranteed someone would call me back but 3 days later no call. Guess it is a good thing there are more than one company in town. read more

I stopped in yesterday to get a new remote for my fireplace logs. The young man brought it out and unfortunately it came as a kit. The remote box s well as the remote. It was quite expensive since I only really needed the remote. He then inquired if I had changed the batteries in my old remote. Which I had. He ask if I had changed the batteries in the box. What?? Didn't even know the box took batteries. He took the time not only to check my remote out but show me how to install new batteries in the box and reprogram it. Basically saved me $100. If I ever need service or equipment I know where I will be going as well as recommending it! read more

We were doing a renovation that entailed installing gas logs. We had previous contacted another company. The other company proposed an expensive option then failed to follow up. This was our good fortune. Our contractor brought in Fireplace concepts. They took care of us in short order at 20% of the cost proposed by the other company. Basically, they repaired the existing set of gas logs rather than sell us new ones... plus several other intelligent recommendations. We were thrilled with Fireplace concepts and highly recommend them. read more

We had to have our fireplace cleaned prior to installation. They were kind enough to allow us time to get that job done. We were then contacted & set up a time for delivery. The two workers arrived at the scheduled time. We were very impressed with the care they took to protect our hardwood floors. They did a wonderful job! I saw a commercial for Fireplace Concepts on TV and called them about getting an estimate to hook up my already installed gas fireplace. I was contacted promptly by a representative and was scheduled for an "estimate" for a Sunday morning at 9:30 AM (really?). The technician who came to do the estimate was on my property for approximately 10 minutes. A representative called me back a few days later with an extremely HIGH price and I declined. The following week, I was billed for $150 for my 10 minute estimate. I STRONGLY discourage ANYONE from doing business with this company who is so desperate for money that they would schedule an appointment on a Sunday morning (causing me to miss church) and then charge me for $150 for a 10 minute estimate. If you need a gas fireplace hooked up, call Columbia Gas or Delta. To purchase a gas fireplace, I recommend Housewarmings or Barhill Chimney. read more
