I got married in the beginning of August, and worked with Dave from across the country for the year prior to my wedding in order to get things perfected! I couldn't have been happier with the way things turned out. Not only did he help us design the perfect menu in our "Italian Northwest Fusion" wedding, but he even handled all of the rentals, service help, and set up. He did a beautiful job, the food was Amaaaazing, the most common compliment we've gotten is that we had the best wedding food of any wedding our guests had ever attended! And even though it poured on our wedding day, the staff helped to hold up umbrellas as people walked to the tent, etc. Now THAT was going above and beyond! From start to finish our experience getting married at Fireseed Estate on Whidbey Island was wonderful. Proprietors Dave and Dawn are as hands-on as you need, in our case we did not have a wedding planner and they provided tremendous guidance and insight throughout our year of planning. They ensured that all logistics were prepared for and executed seamlessly and flagged any details we may have overlooked. By handling food preparation and rentals they make the day manageable without being remotely cookie-cutter, a rare balance when it comes to wedding venues. The property itself could not be more gorgeous. A true Northwest estate, it offers an on-site organic garden, striking flower beds, poplar trees and a lake in the background. A stunning backdrop for guests and photography! Friends and family are still raving about the food, all seasonally selected and prepared in their on-site kitchen, there is no dry chicken or well done steak here. Their buttermilk fried chicken is the best my husband and I have ever tasted. Prompt on email or phone and 100% dialed-in on site, it is clear Dave and Dawn are experts at what they do and I could not recommend them as a team and Fireseed as a venue more wholeheartedly. Fireseed is truly exceptional - book them, immediately, and don't think twice. We cannot say enough about their spectacular venue, the fabulous food, and simply how nice and easy they were to work with. We booked Fireseed site unseen based on recommendations, and fell in love with the owners (Dave & Dawn) and the venue a few weeks later when we toured the venue. We could not have been luckier to stumble into Fireseed!! Venue: Fireseed's grounds are absolutely breathtaking. Gorgeous, well maintained gardens (through all seasons), and a clean, unique barn. It feels modern and vintage all in one, but most of all, unique. There are special touches everywhere you look from the specially crafted Whidbey ironwork to the spectacular barn doors to the outdoor bar and beyond. Importantly (for us), Dave and Dawn only do one wedding a weekend so they let you set up before and break anything down Sunday. Dave was beyond accommodating and you have the place to yourself for the weekend. It feels magical. Food: Weeks post-wedding, our guests are still talking about how Fireseed's was the best wedding food they have ever had. Most compared it to a high end restaurant meal not a wedding meal. Everyone raved about the mussels, but absolutely everything was perfectly cooked, fresh, and made using local ingredients. And by local, I mean a lot of it was grown in their vegetable gardens. Farm to table... how can you get any better?! And Dawn's cake/pies were fabulous! Dave & Dawn are freaking awesome: I cannot emphasize this point enough. We planned our wedding remotely and at no point were we ever stressed about the wedding. We knew all things Fireseed were handled. Dave responded thoughtfully and thoroughly within hours to every question (and there were a lot). Dave coordinated everything, provided nice choices, and exceptional service, always keeping cost in mind. Wow! We just got married at Fireseed in early July, and it was amazing. We had the place from Friday-early Sunday, so there was no rush to decorate or clean things up. With all the other things to pay attention to during a wedding, this extra time with the venue was super helpful. The venue itself was spectacular. The grounds/scenery are extremely well kept, and were stunning. They clearly put an extraordinary amount of time into maintain the property. The beautiful plants, flowers and scenery allowed for some amazing picture taking. Last but not least, was the food. Dave prepared a cognac-mustard flank steak, Penn-Cove Mussel and Clam Bake, and grilled salmon (as well as 8 amazing side dishes with fresh and local vegetables and pastas). I've tried many salmon dishes at weddings, and Dave cooked to perfection. A true sign of a great caterer. His wife Dawn was our pastry chef and prepared wedding pie (instead of cake) for the dessert. She made a Marion berry pie, peach pie, Strawberry rhubarb pie, and pecan pie (with a side of Whidbey Island Vanilla Ice Cream). All I can say is best wedding dessert selection ever. Not that I plan on getting married again, but If I did, this would be the place to go. They were so helpful with the planning, timing, and preparation, and the food is simply amazing. Fireseed was a DREAM come true! Not only was the venue absolutely incredible, but Dave & Dawn were such a pleasure to work with. My husband and I got married in May and the grounds were stunning. They had great recommendations on vendors to hire and the food was to die for. It was the best wedding food any of our families had ever had! We had about 150 people at our wedding and everyone is still raving about how perfect the weekend was. I honestly can't imagine a more perfect wedding venue than Fireseed. We got married at Fireseed 1 year ago today, and It was truly a magical day--from the spectacular grounds, delicious food (seriously, we've had dozens of people tell us that it was the best wedding food they've ever eaten!), to the careful assistance provided by Dave and Dawn on every little detail. Their gardens are amazing--I initially visited on a January day in the pouring rain, which did not do justice to the amazing explosion of color that awaited us in early September. I couldn't have imagined a better spot to get married. Dave and Dawn are wonderful to work with--Dave suggested options for menu items but was flexible with details, helping us make sure that the menu was exactly what we wanted (salmon, flank steak, and an amazing variety of summer salads!). They coordinated all of our rentals and set everything up for the ceremony and reception, so we only had to do the final touches on Friday afternoon before our wedding. An Absolute Dream of a Venue with the Best Venue Hosts My fiance (now husband) and I took one look at this venue and just knew it was the one! We met Dave for the initial visit and within minutes of talking to him, we knew we had to book the place for our wedding. The location was perfect, the scenery was unbelievable beautiful, the tasting menu was delicious and the overall vibe was exactly what we wanted. We never even looked at any other venues--we just booked this one and felt entirely at peace with our decision! Throughout the months leading up to our wedding, Dave was beyond helpful, answered all of our questions, gave us tips, and overall provided us with prompt responses in a low stress and very chill vibe. We met Dawn the day before the wedding and she was also a delight to work with--and she makes the BEST pies!! Dawn seamlessly took over the day of planning the night before the wedding and I was so grateful to have someone who could direct our wedding day with such relaxed professionalism! Dave and Dawn were a dream to work with! A few other things I need to say (albeit a little late!), the food was the best wedding food I've ever had. The pies were DELISH. The catering staff was unbelievably attentive. The venue was clean, cozy, and overall perfect. AND, to top it off we had the venue for 3 days, which is unheard of and it was a game changer (Friday for prep, set up and rehearsal; Saturday for the big day and tons of fun; Sunday for clean up!) We just got married on 9/10/11 and it was literally the best day of our lives... due in large part to the hard working staff at Fireseed. The grounds are impeccable with absolutely beautiful gardens and landscape. They are so beautiful, in fact, that we did not have to decorate our ceremony at all. The food is DELICIOUS. Hands down the best wedding food I've ever tasted. An amazing desert bar is available in lieu of just cake or cupcakes that includes a small cake (for cutting), cupcakes, chocolate covered strawberries, and homemade chocolate truffles. Our second wedding at Fireseed Garden. Both my Daughter and our new Daughter in Law chose Fireseed for their wedding venue 7 years apart. Without a doubt 2 great successes! I can't say enough about Dave, Dawn, their amazing team, and the grounds at Fireseed Catering. Throughout the planning process Dave helped us select a menu, pick out our rentals and plan out the day. The food was incredible (though I didn't get to eat enough) and I'm still hearing about it from guests. The cupcakes and cutting cheesecake were some of the best I've ever had too. Our wedding day was a little iffy weather-wise an hour or so before the ceremony Dawn and Dave approached me about moving the ceremony inside, but also gave me the option of having it outside and offered the use of their umbrellas (they had enough for all the guests). Their servers handed them out to guests in need and made sure the wedding party had enough for the ceremony. They are so accommodating and worth changing your date if you already have a dream weekend picked out - I'm sure glad I did! read more

My husband and I could not have chosen a better place to hold our ceremony and reception if we had visited every wedding venue in the Pacific Northwest. Dave greeted us warmly when we arrived for our first visit to the venue and was helpful and responsive from our first meeting through our wedding day almost a year later. Dawn did a fantastic job keeping the wedding on track and running smoothly and created a beautiful wedding cake for us. The food was delicious and the serving staff was great. It was awesome having the venue Friday afternoon through Sunday afternoon for putting up and taking down decorations and it was very nice to have the staff take care of setting up tables, etc. There is a gorgeous outdoor wedding ceremony location but the backup indoor location is wonderful as well. It was raining on our October wedding day and we ended up having the wedding inside - it still ended up being a beautiful ceremony. The outdoors can be brought in with the large doors at the front of the ceremony area being left open. I would recommend Fireseed Catering to anyone who loves nature and wants an indoor/outdoor celebration. read more

Fireseed Catering is a breathtaking wedding venue with very capable and accommodating staff. When my husband and I began searching for a venue we were overwhelmed by how inflexible most places were. Many had numerous restrictions on decorations, only allowed for one hour of set-up/take-down, and required half of the cost to hold their space. This is not the case at Fireseed. The owners Dawn and Dave Noble (married chefs) allow more than ample time at the facility to set-up, are always available to go over details, enjoy customizing their menu, and are professional while being laid back. The pastoral setting with a myriad of brightly colored flowers and Miller Lake in the backdrop is gorgeous. The food is fresh, local, and delicious. Dawn, a trained pastry chef, designs and creates beautiful cakes. We knew we had found the right place when every vendor we worked with raved about Dawn and Dave and the venue when we told them our location. Our wedding day was such an enjoyable day and I can honestly say there was nothing I would've changed. I highly recommend Fireseed for weddings or other special events. read more

We had our wedding at Fireseed in August of 2008, and would highly recommend Dave and Dawn Noble and the entire Fireseed staff to anyone looking for a stress-free wedding planning experience and even more beautiful, rustic venue. Not only did we have our wedding and reception on Fireseed's beautiful grounds, they pretty much did all of the planning for us - from ordering all of the rentals (chairs, tables, linens, etc), to crafting a custom menu. Dawn even made us the most delicious wedding cake I've ever tasted - only based on a photo I supplied from Martha Stewart Weddings (!). They made fantastic suggestions about everything from the timing for the actual wedding ceremony, to local DJs, florists, photographers, etc. These wedding planning services were all included in the incredibly reasonable venue cost - something that would normally cost thousands of dollars. And, everything turned out perfectly! They even suggested we have a "pre-ceremony" reception to help with any guests who might miss the ferry and show up late, which was a huge hit with guests. We are also frequently told that our wedding had the best "wedding food" they've ever had (and this isn't 'wedding food' by any means - it's incredible!). Overall we had an incredibly beautiful, Whidbey Island wedding and would definitely recommend this location and venue to anyone. read more

Fireseed was absolutely perfect for our April 2014 wedding. When looking for a wedding venue this was actually the first place we visited and knew from the start it was perfect. We looked at more venues after that just to confirm our feelings, and nothing else compared. Many of the other venues were also more expensive and offered way less! In choosing April for our wedding in the Northwest, we knew there was a good chance of rain. Fireseed was perfect for this scenario since the outdoor grounds are beautiful, and the barn is just as amazing. Even if it were to pour rain, the day would have been beautiful. We lucked out with weather and were able to have the ceremony outside, which was an added bonus! Dave is so friendly and attentive and helpful in all the planning. He always responded to emails quickly, and was very patient with my endless questions during the preparations. Dawn is also very sweet and made sure everything ran smoothly during the weekend. She even helped me sew up my bustle during the reception when it broke! The food was spectacular. Many of my guests have commented multiple times how great it was and these are friends that I know aren't saying that just to be nice. They all said they went back for seconds and thirds. Same with the cake. My only regret is that I didn't eat more of it! Overall, I have nothing but good things to say about Dave and Dawn and Fireseed. I would recommend it in a heartbeat (and already have to friends). The grounds and barn alone are enough to make your wedding day perfect, and Dave and Dawn are so spectacular and enjoyable that it just completes the package. read more

We don't even know where to begin with our praise for Fireseed (and, specifically, Dave and Dawn). We were having trouble finding wedding venues we liked in Seattle, and decided to branch out a bit. I visited Fireseed without my then fiancé, as he was busy that day. It was a rainy, dreary, Seattle day, and, despite being a Pacific Northwest native, I am not a huge fan of the rain. From the moment I arrived, I knew that it was our venue, and knew that my fiancé would love it as much as I did (which proved true). Fireseed is such a quintessential Pacific Northwest venue, and has a little bit of everything--beautiful, immaculately maintained gardens, an organic vegetable garden, a lake view, a forest area with large pine trees, and a tastefully decorated barn that does not feel like any other barn! The grounds alone would have been reason enough to have our wedding there, but then we learned that Dave and Dawn are Culinary Institute of America graduates, and make THE most delicious food in the universe. Throughout the year of planning, Dave and Dawn were incredibly responsive and helpful, and are endlessly knowledgeable about every single planning logistic you can think of. On our wedding day, things ran absolutely perfectly, despite the rain that fell and then stopped about 5 minutes before the ceremony. Dave and Dawn took the rain in stride (and had endless umbrellas for guests), and were respectful of our desire to have the ceremony outdoors, despite the downpour that was occurring when they asked us our preference. The food was some of the best we have EVER had, hands down, and it was wedding food for 150 people, to boot. The fried chicken (we opted for a Southern menu, as we are currently living in Tennessee) truly was to die for. The desserts, made by Dawn, were also incredible--so much so that on our 2-month anniversary we decided to buck tradition and have a slice of our wedding cake! We could go on and on with endless praise for Dave, Dawn, their food, their venue, and them as people. We would recommend this venue in a heartbeat to all of our friends, and to anyone wanting a quintessential Pacific Northwest wedding with grounds, food, and service guests will remember for the rest of their lives. read more

My now husband and I got married here at Fireseed Gardens in July of 2009. We had just moved to Whidey Island and decided that we wanted to have our wedding here. After asking locals to the area we got a suggestions to look at this particular venue. We made an appointment with Dave and just feel in love with this place (Even in December!). The grounds and the barn was just beautiful. We booked our wedding date on the day of the showing and started the planning process. We meet with Dave for food and cake tasting and loved the food and cake also! With the help of Dave and his relationships with other vendors made the planning of the all the little details go smoothly as well. The day of our wedding was all taken care of and went perfectly. Dave and his staff went above and beyond to make our day special. Top Notch service!!
