We found this little restaurant while visiting Sequim and now we make it an almost weekly visit…read moredriving from Port Angeles just to get a bowl of their AMAZING clam chowder and fish tacos. I can't remember ever having clam chowder as good and the fish tacos are absolutely loaded with fish. They have beer and cider on tap, great prices and wonderful staff that are always friendly and welcoming. If you love seafood this place will not disappoint!

Ordering is usually done via QR code, but they are also happy to orders at the register. One thing to note: on our visit, the restaurant left the front door open and didn't turn on heating so we found it rather cold inside. Clam Chowder in Sourdough Bread Bowl ($14) - Salty Girls has one of the best preparations for chowder bread bowls I've encountered. They expertly hollow out the center as much as absolutely possible, leaving maybe only half an inch of bread on the sides (I think they use the trimmings to make their homemade croutons). This allows them to ladle in the maximal amount of clam chowder, much more than most I've had in the past. While I believe the bread is some commercial one, it has a distinct, but light, sourdough taste and doesn't have the overwhelming taste of stabilizers and preservatives that some bread bowls run into. It's toasted very nicely, giving a fantastic crust, while the interior bread remains light rather than dense, yet holds up to the chowder well. The chowder itself is pretty good. It's thickened, but still just runny enough to not feel like it's been over reduced. Not clumpy or super heavy as some other chowders. There's a strong herbal quality in the mix, combined with large pieces of clam and bacon. The amount of clam isn't very generous, but there's enough of the chewy mollusk to get at least a piece per spoonful. Lots of tender diced potato chunks complete the chowder. There's by far the most potato in terms of ingredients in this dish, making it very carb heavy. The chowder is served steaming hot and remains quite hot for a long while even in the cold air of the restaurant. (4/5) Crab Melt ($18) - Interesting open faced sandwich, with the crusty heel portion of a ciabatta roll, toasted until crispy on the flats, but still softer on the interior, albeit thin. It's topped with an ice cream scoop of crab salad. The salad is essentially tuna salad with the crab substituted for tuna. This means there's a ton of crab and not much filler - plenty of sweet shreds of crab meat, mixed with a couple of crunchy pieces of celery in a creamy sauce. The crab salad is then topped with cheese, then the entire creation is broiled until the cheese on top becomes bubbly and the cheese that flows down the sides of the bread becomes essentially a crunchy cheese skirt. Something to note, not necessarily a negative, is that the center of the crab salad scoops remains cold, which is in stark contrast to the warmed exterior. The dish comes with a side of ridged kettle chips. Robustly crunchy, simply salted. Surprisingly good to dip into the clam chowder in fact. (4/5) Salty Girls definitely serves some good seafood dishes. I certainly wouldn't mind returning the next time I'm in Seqium. Environment: Really cute, more on the modern side…read more Service: The staff is very friendly. We were well taken care off. Food: The chowder is good. I think just get the bowl, it's 3 more dollars to double the amount of chowder. We also got the oyster flight, thought we would get 2 of each kind, but got 3 of each in a half a dozen order. Quinty point and Rock point triploid is what we got, the quinty point is very creamy and fishy, I don't personally like it. But the rock point triploid is really good! Super salty and fresh. TL;DR: order Rock point Triploid oysters. If you get chowder order the bowl. Not a bad spot for oysters.

Let me do you a favor and say, this place is NOT hard to find, omg! Lol If you see the Rose theater, it is literary 2 shops to the left of the theater, if you looking at the theater! We came when it was close to closing time, but everyone was very accommodating! They do ask to show proof of vaccination. Their clam chowder is so yummy, so was the steamers clams. And, the oysters, their own selections, was so so yummy! I got a pineapple cider, locally sourced but sadly I forgot to ask them from where, it was the BEST YUMMIEST PINEAPPLE CIDER EVER!!! Well, I've never had any other pineapple cider as good as this!! The fragrance was just so refreshing! And it was light and crispy! Pair so well with the steamed clams and oysters. The place is very clean and nice, and staff are so friendly! I would highly recommend this place!!

There is a very small seating area dedicated to the food truck-- the larger outdoor seating area is reserved for customers of the Brewery. However as long as you order a drink you're welcome to enjoy the food from Ikaika indoors or outdoors. The order process was easy-- they had the full menu on the glass of the ordering booth and a menu board with the gluten free options from their full menu. Once you place the order they give you a beeper that'll work anywhere on the property so you can definitely place the order and head inside the brewery to grab a drink. It did take a long time for our orders to come out-- there were 2 people on average preparing the food while 1 person was in charge of managing the register. The sauce that came with the fish and chips were amazing and got praise from all of us. We also ordered kimchi fried rice and while the kimchi was great, some of the rice tasted undercooked and the celery felt a little strange as an addition. The kalua sandwich was very solid and the buns were toasted beautifully golden and we did order the award winning beans but my partner was not a fan of the sweetness. The coleslaw that came with the fish and chips also had a gingery aftertaste.

We spent our Valentine's Day lunch here and it was a great choice with our favorite foods!…read moreThe upper floor dining area is elegant and spaced out enough not to feel cramped. Service was attentive and friendly as usual. We were quickly seated for our reservations. The tartare and mussels are our go-tos for appetizers. The tartare may be a challenge for some folks but the freshness of the meat with the richness of the egg yolk, on toasted bread, is beyond delightful. I might just have that as my main entree one day! The mussels were perfect and the broth it was boiled in was so tasty we had to bring the remainder home with us! My bride had the hanger steak (rare) which came out gorgeously seared and juicy on the inside. The shoestring fries are addictive! I could not resist having my lamb burger (med-rare). What more can I say? The arugula on some mayonnaise, the bit of salsa, the moist and generously sized burger with a touch of lime(?) and perhaps some ginger(?), on a bun that tasted freshly baked. No sauce needed. We had a pitcher of rose which was delightfully light and fruity, which went well with our meal. A wonderful way to celebrate Love!

We enjoy Langley and the lights and shops were great to visit. We showed up just before our 5 PM reservation and the hostess was standing at her computer. My wife asked about sitting on the heated outdoor area because it smelled odd in the dining room. She said it was full (it wasn't) but then still looking at her screen said if we could wait a bit they can make a table available. We gladly waited for a few minutes. There were three to four open tables both inside and outside and she sat us at a two top in the corner next to the door. My wife asked if we could get out of the corner but no go. Then she asked if we could just fit inside then? Now the hostess didn't want to accommodate that and when asked what happened to the table inside she intended to give us originally the hostess, in a rather snotty tone, said to my wife "you only made your reservation today!". That isn't the way to address my wife! She told her that we would just go somewhere else. Crickets from this hostess....no effort to please us so gone we were! We haven't been here for a year since the food was not that great last time and cannot compare at all to other better French restaurants on the east coast and our trips to France. We just thought we'd they it again for a nice holiday weekend meal. We went right across the street to a truly packed Village pizzeria, they kindly fit us in at a great bar seating and we got to watch the LA bowl and Huskies and enjoy our usual Village Pizza, caesar, and a couple of rounds of drinks. Excellent and friendly service! We won't be returning now recommending Prima Bistro again. We often tell guests and friends that it's likely a better choice than Saltwater next door. We are getting tired of the "finer" dining on Whidbey that is often overpriced, unreliable, and un accommodating compared to similar dining elsewhere. This was a good example. And at 7 PB appeared almost empty from our view from the street!
