Old fashioned supper club that has been around for over 40 years. Nice salad bar with soups. Typical meat and seafood offerings. Food is always good quality if a bit boring. Great place to bring your parents. You may want to avoid if taxidermy offends you. read more

Very good!! I'm liking the changes! And the fact they are getting rid of the "animals." I think Ty and Korey are doing a good job.

Want to give this place 4 stars when compared to other sub par restaurants that inhabit this area. But I am keeping true to my rating scale and giving it 2 stars. Service usually good, food sub par, ambience super dated, but have salad bar. Sunday lunch buffet is not good. Bland food, little options, instant potatoes, and shoe leather roast beef(see pic)! Also Soups mediocre and soda only comes in the can. Guy(owner) only pops out here and there to slice me so if ya wanted a piece of shoe leather to chew on he wouldn't be there to hack it off the boot for you. Anyhow, Would not recommend. read more

Terrible service, waited 10 mins at the front door to be seated while the indifferent staff walked by. Waited another 10 mins for our server, who dropped off water and walked away without taking our drink order. Looking around, all we saw were people looking for some help or food. That was enough for us, we got up and left. Another grill in town were happy to have us, service and food were great. I get covid staffing challenges, but rude and indifferent staff and management ? I was in the area and hungry for dinner. Meals came out hot; fish sandwich was on par, California burger could have been more flavorful. Decor truly needs an update. I would have thought that covid closures would have given restaurants time and motivation to update and refresh. Am glad I stopped as it was likely one of the bigger menus in the area. read more

So you need to know what you are getting into when you get here. A rural MN bar on one side with a supper club on the other. Nice menu and as a whole for a rural MN place it is pretty good. Salad bar is definitely a step above the typical place like this that only has iceberg lettuce, croutons, Bac-os, cheese, cherry tomatoes and carrot shavings with french and ranch for dressings. As a whole, a step above the others in its food genre. For that I'll give it 4 stars. But if your arteries are feeling healthy and you want a good old fashioned greasy meat sandwich have I got the 5 star recommendation for you. The ribeye steak sandwich. Might be sacrilegious to put a nice steak on bread, BUT.... Freshly cut and grilled ribeye, toasted bread and lots of butter. Do you need anything more? A good beer to wash it down? Sure. But that's it. I can't get away from this every time we go through here. It is simply fantastic. Again, juicy steak, butter, toasted bread and more butter. Wow. Comes with fries I think. I don't really care what it comes with actually. Probably will contribute to my early death from heart disease. But oh well. Life can't be all salads and smoothies. read more

For food venue's and Bar's in this area, this Bar / Restaurant is really good!! For a little quieter venue, dinner & cocktails were great. Service is a little slower, or maybe the food just takes longer, but I have been satisfied every time! They have a pretty good selection of delicious dinners & appetizers and cool older atmosphere! We recommend everyone eat a nice Dinner there at-least once in a while. read more

We used to go out to eat here all the time. They have an amazing salad bar and soup every night. It is like an old fashioned supper club where you can get a fair steak, seafood, or a burger. However, as time went on, the parking lot looks sadder and sadder. The sign is pathetic. The service was always pretty good. We would much rather go a few more miles up the road and go to Zorbaz on Big Sandy. It's much more current and the food is good too. The Fireside really needs to step up their game. read more

We drive 30 miles to eat here once a year. We like the Wednesday surf and turf special. The early bird special are a incredibly affordable. This isn't a gourmet restaurant, but the food is good and the prices are half, or less, of what we'd pay for a similar meal in the Cities. Decor, lots of stuffed animals, is typical for the region. read more

Stopped in Jan. 11, 2020 and ate at the bar, it was later in the evening, the bartender was great, the salad bar was very good and full of great options including soups. Ordered chicken and ribs, the chicken was piping hot and juicy and the ribs fell of the bone, good! Also had fettuccine which was very good and homemade not a packaged sauce also had au gratin potatoes which were creamy and served hot with the cheese nicely browned. Was not very expensive for the meal we had, would definitely stop back here when in the area! read more

Wow! This is definitely McGregor s hidden gem. I had the broasted chicken chicken with garlic mashed potato and my daughter had the roast beef sandwich with au jus, similar to a French dip but better. The chicken was juicy and tender with the right amount of crispy batter coating that would put all the eleven herbs and spices to shame. The roast beef was juicy and flavorful. To top things off, the salad bar was awesome. read more

Fireside inn has the best salad bar in the area. The steak and lobster on wed are great and the price is great also. Steak and lobster for 20.00 on Wednesday. The staff are the best people around. They can accommodate large groups by reservation. read more

This place has been where I've gone for a long time in that area. It's a traditional outstate kind of place, serving steaks, fish, and similar foods with a bar attached. Don't go here expecting anything really modern, it's got taxidermies and a salad bar. read more
