BEWARE: Pyramid Fine Wine & Spirits was a great store--until it wasn't. They enforce a strict no-return, no-exchange policy on everything, with zero exceptions. If you purchase a $100 bottle of wine that turns out to be corked, you're out of luck. If you buy a non-alcoholic alternative for Dry January and discover unidentified particles floating inside--even when the bottle is unopened and sealed--no exchange. If you purchase a product with an expiration date only two weeks away and ask to exchange it for one with a longer shelf life, also no. Pyramid used to be our go-to store for wine, spirits, and alcohol alternatives, but we will no longer shop here due to this inflexible policy and lack of customer support. While they do post a small sign stating this policy, its location makes it easy to miss. Buyers should be fully aware of this policy before making any purchase. Shop accordingly. read more

Seriously, the place is packed with variety. And the staff are friendly and helpful. We sometimes visit with nothing in particular in mind but we always find something to purchase and take home. I called Pyramid Fine Wine and Spirits looking for a champagne stopper. After stopping at a more local store where they didn't have them. Laura answered the phone. She was super helpful and went and checked to make sure they had some in stock. She came back on the phone and told me she did have them. So I drove over and was able to grab a couple of them. I really like this store they have an ample supply of many different liquors. Previously I'd stopped in and gotten a yummy beer that I hadn't seen anywhere else!! I ask about the construction at the end of their building and Laura said they are adding a cigar area. I actually drove by the building at first because of the construction I didn't see their sign. Anyway I'm really glad we have such a quality liquor store so close to Spanish Springs. read more

First timer here, and this place is great! It was a tad overwhelming, not going in with something specific in mind, because then you want to try it all. The options in each section (beer, bourbon, rum, etc) are outstanding and bountiful! They even have unique items you would never find elsewhere, very niche products, like pickle shots (which I've been joking I want to find FOR-EV-ER). I even found a canned Long Drink flavor I've never even heard of- peach! Prices are in line with Total Wine and other similar stores. The staff was friendly, store was very clean, and everything was stocked well. There is a points club you can sign up for with your phone number, and it opts you into monthly drawings for very expensive bottles. If you like beer and have a particular brand or type of beer that may be hard to find, PFW&S may have it. It is conveniently located in North Sparks and a stone's throw from Spanish Springs. Be prepared to spend time exploriing brews on the shelves and those in the refrigerated sections. The beer section is very loosely organized and it may be hard to locate what your favorite beverage(s). Staff may be able to help. but my experience has led me to conclude that saff members are not that knowledgeable when it comes to their diverse inventory. I stopped in to shop for some tequila and whiskey, to see what their selection looks like. There are a number of quality additive-free tequila choices. They had a few brands that are incredibly hard, if not impossible, to find right now. Their pricing is reflective of that. Same goes for the whiskey selection. There are quite a lot of options. The harder to find brands come in a premium price as well. If there is something that you absolutely have to have, it may be in stock. But if you have availability to shop around, then you may be able to find it somewhere else less costly. read more

In my household, Pyramid Fine Wine is called "the horse liquor store" because of the gigantic P.F. Chang-lookalike horse outside of the location. It looks grand and majestic, and that describes the feeling that I get when I walk in. There are so many options for all kinds of beer, wine, spirits, vaping accoutrements, and non-alcoholic mixers. This location is even better than Total Wine if you're looking for gift sets of alcohol and branded glassware. Pyramid Fine Wine is my go-to when I want to treat myself to "special alcohol" (aka something that I can't find in the grocery store) or when I want to bring a unique bottle of spirits for dinner party hosts. Great customer service. But the price for liquor is INSANE!!! Most of the items are 50% more than the average price. I guess that's the reason they have so much inventory. DON'T GET ROBBED!! If you want to be robbed by this couple, by all means shop at your own risk. These guys overprice everything except beer! Please continue reading! The first time I went in they had a couple of Buffalo Trace Antique editions behind the counter. The owner was there with his distributor and I asked about the different bottles. He told me how much he was charging ($99), which was only a couple of dollars over MSRP, but because I wasn't sure how to get them on my flight home I walked away. Two days later I returned to purchase the bottle I asked about only to be told by the owner the bottle was $1000, $900 more than originally quoted by the same person. I tried to explain to him he quoted me $99 and he replied, "If I get it for $99, you'll get it for $99." As a collector I explained to him I know the price is $60-$70 from the distributor and was good with the mark up, until he tried to overcharge over $900! Periodically I will run in to see hard to find bottles and to see what outrageous prices this guy and his wife are charging hard working individuals. And I always walk out shaking my head. Wow, why have we never stopped in here. They have tons of beer, and most of it is cold! The liquor selection was quite impressive with lots of variety. I went looking for an anise liqueur, check that was easy. The staff was friendly and willing to help me, but I just wanted to wander about. They also have a free club card to earn money off future purchases. Plus, the points never expire, woohoo! You can even earn points at their in store bar that is about to open. Genuinely enjoy going to Pyramid Fine Wine & Spirits. You walk in and whether you are greeted by the owner, his wife, or a knowledgeable staff member, you immediately feel at home. Without a doubt have the best variety of quality wines and liquor in the community and if they do not have it they will work hard to find out if it is available. I personally have collected rare bourbons for years. Nevada is one of several states that does not allow shipments of liquor to individuals from out of state, so, in my case the options are limited to hoping a local vendor will get it for you. Every other liquor store in the community has disappointed me in my quest to obtain certain rare bourbons either because I did not belong to their "club", had not spent enough money in their store to qualify, or frankly, just did not have the knowledge about what I was seeking or the ability to obtain it. Pyramid Fine Wine & Spirits on the other hand has never disappointed me. Quite often it is in the store. If it is not available, they can usually get me a timeline as to when it will be in and notify me when it arrives. Obviously, my tastes also vary to wines, cordials, and beer depending on the season. Probably most important is the simple fact that the owner, his wife and staff have always been honest and straight forward with me. Yes, at times they may be a bit more expensive, but I also consider they are a locally owned business and I choose to support them because of that and for the other reasons stated in this review.
