We have encountered significant communication, documentation, job-site oversight, and contents-related concerns that have taken considerable time and effort to address. The brightest part of our experience has been Kim Helmick. Kim has been compassionate, responsive, level-headed, and willing to listen when we felt overwhelmed or unsupported. She has genuinely made us feel that someone within the company is advocating for us and working toward a better outcome. Kim's service has been five-star, and without her involvement, this would unquestionably be a one-star review. We sincerely hope the remaining issues are resolved and that the completed restoration gives us a reason to update this review even more positively.

I hired Straightline Landscaping for a project at my home, and unfortunately my experience went…read moredownhill after the initial payment was made. At the beginning, they were very communicative and responsive, which gave me confidence in moving forward. However, once they received our money, their level of service noticeably changed. First, the project start was delayed by an extra week with no communication from their team. We had to reach out ourselves just to get an update. Second, midway through the project they contacted us about adding electricity to our built-in feature. Since the cost increase was minimal, we agreed. But when the project was completed, they told us they couldn't figure out the electrical component--and refused to refund the money we paid for that addition. Third, our front yard sprinkler valve has leaked three separate times over the past 14 months. Each time, it takes weeks to get someone out to repair it, which is incredibly frustrating. Fourth, I have left numerous voicemails, emails, and warranty requests asking to speak with a manager, and I have yet to receive any response. Lastly, during the first windstorm after installation, one of the lights was knocked over because it was not installed properly. The company refused to take responsibility for the improper installation. Overall, the lack of communication, accountability, and follow-through has been very disappointing. I would not recommend Straightline Landscaping based on our experience.

From start to finish they were always professional. We loved the design ideas that were shared and design process. We were always able to bounce ideas past them along the way. When it came to construction, they had a fantastic crew who really did great work. And if we weren't happy with something they would adjust it. The really wanted to ensure that we were thrilled with our landscape. They even fixed other work performed by the pool contractor because they knew it would be a problem and they wanted to do the right thing. Not many contractors do that. The finished product is phenomenal! We love being in our backyard and sharing it with our neighbors and friends. Also, they have a great warranty program and a dedicated warranty team to help. Since they do a lot of work for the home builders you don't have to worry if they will be around to help after the job is done. Highly recommend them for your larger landscape needs.

Our salesman David was extremely patient with us as we deliberated all our choices (we were still considering traditional "cool" decking) and never pressured us or tried to upsell. In fact, he went out of his way to be sure we got the best price possible. Once we booked it, communication from the project manager was timely and professional; I was happy with the emails and texts I received updating me with the estimate, work timeline, and day-of information. On installation day, the crew (Martin, Francisco, and Jorge Sr.) were punctual, friendly, and efficient. They maintained an immaculate worksite, even laying down tarps in our driveway for where they'd be running the wheelbarrow across to the back yard. They worked solidly for their entire time on the job, but were friendly when I popped out with questions or to take photos. I was especially impressed with the care they took with the edging around our pool--I'm sure they sighed a bit when they saw all of the cutout edges and corners (what a job this would be!) but they cheerfully took it in hand and spent as much time on each joint as it took to make it perfect. They were so careful with trimming the edges of the grass so as to be able to trowel the rubberstone in a perfect arch all the way around--it looks absolutely beautiful. The attention to detail was above and beyond what I expected. I'm absolutely delighted with the look of the new deck. Our poor old deck was in such bad shape, and now the back yard is completely transformed. It's truly gorgeous! We (including all the grandbabies) spend virtually the entire summer in and around our pool, so having a softer, cooler surface than traditional "cool" deck is going to be a game-changer. I'll update this post with a photo of little ones sitting on it in July, in case folks want proof of yes, it really is cooler than anything else!
