Driving back to Texas from Alabama, out car started making a high pitched screeching sound, late afternoon on a Friday. We got lucky and pulled into a Wal-Mart, but they don't do repair work. An employee however said he knew someone close by who owns a shop, and he called him. Within MINUTES, the owner showed up and took a look. Honestly, we have had bad luck with mechanics, doing bad work and charging exhorbitante fees, we were prepared for the worst, the engine sounded terrible and we were in small town MS, we figured an overnight stay and pricey repair bill. We got the car to their shop, granted, not impressive in appearance, but they had a group of guys, late in the day on Friday, when they were preparing to go home for the night. The owner identified a badly shredded serpentine belt as the issue. They obtained a replacement then noticed the pulleys were very bad, again, we were fully prepared for the full "gotcha" repair price. The got replacement pulleys, did the full repair. I had googled estimates for similar repairs and I was prepared for a 2x- 3x the average repair for the bill. Not only was it not, it was on the lower end of the expected repair range and they did it in an incredible time frame for a family of 4 that really needed to get back on the road. I don't give many 5 stars, but this place easily earned it, and a few more stars if I could, very highly recommended, unfortunately they are not local to me, otherwise they would be my repair/maintenance shop of choice going forward.

I recently took my work vehicle in as a local shop said the didn't have the equipment to find my problem. It had a slight miss to it and would go dead at stops and sometimes while turning. It idled perfectly and drove. Fine no oil burning or smoke. I took it in and the initially said it had jumped time a little. Well went in the next day and saw the cover off the timing chains and it was super tight no way it slipped. Then He said I have bad news it Needs an engine. He said his mechanic found some small metal shaving I was sort of skeptical as the mechanic couldn't show any of them to me but said well guess he's supposed to know his business. I asked how much he said $1000 to change the engine. Well it cost me $1500 for the engine they changed it seemed to run ok. Then I asked to pay my bill he said $1700. I said what happened to the $1000 price he then went into some spill about oil changes, had to disconnect the ac and then fix that back and recharge it. I said but $1700 his remark was u have it. My problem is I don't have $700 to throw away had the bill been $70-100 more fine but $700 and then don't bother to call me but he should have said something to begin with about extra Charges for those items. I would have elected not to hav allowed him to change the engine as $750 is about the going rate and that's for oil change, ac and all. If you choose to try the pirate John's car care you better find out what you will pay up front or to get your approval before fixing. Am sure they've done enough motor swaps that he knew ahead of the extra charges. But then he wouldn't have gotten the job. My vehicle doesn't run any better other than no miss. But it did start going dead at stops and turns again. Someone else looked at it and that was a loose battery cable. Tightened it no more problem now I'm really pis--d as that was probably all that was wrong to begin with. He still won't EVER have to worry about my business again or anyone I can possibly make aware of his Tactics. Thanks

My daughter attends LSU and was having car issues. We have AAA they don't provide this service in Baton Rouge (to bring a new car battery and replace it on site) I called Alvin he was very professional and provided this in timely matter I would use Mobile Car Care 225 again. He went to the Auto Store, picked up the battery and was in contact with me and my daughter and meet her at the apartment complex, drove up the the 7th floor of the parking garage and changed out the battery within the hour. He was in contact with me throughout the process and was very nice and professional with my daughter. I would give this whole process and solid 10 and I'm not renewing AAA and calling Mobile Car Care if we have car issues again.
