So first the good: they got me taken care of pretty quickly and cheap. The plug in the tire is holding fine. The bad: they plugged a screw hole in a flat tire for me, but forgot to do the balance or to tighten the lugnuts. We got a ways down the road and had to pull over at the mr tire in Latrobe as the tire got louder and louder, they had us fixed up before long over there. read more

I made an appointment for a simple car inspection at 10 AM. It was done at 3pm. Five hours later, three of which I sat there waiting. Communication was horrible. The manager was quite snippy. It was an overall horrible experience, and I will sadly never go back. read more

We had our 2016 Jeep Wrangler in for service on several occasions with what appeared to be brake problems in the rear of the Jeep. On each occasion, four in total, we were told that there was nothing wrong with the rear brakes. During this time, we also had to have the front brakes changed (rotors, calipers, pads, etc.). The rubber brake lines were not replaced. We were told one estimate on this front brake job ($700), called back within five minutes and told a higher estimate ($900), and then when we picked up the Jeep, we were given a higher total ($1100). This was with a military discount. After my wife contacted another Firestone dealer, we found out we were overcharged and received a refund. Now back to the rear brakes. At the time we had the front brakes checked/repaired, we practically begged Firestone to check the back brakes again. Less than four hundred miles later, we could smell and feel the same problem with the back brakes, so off to Firestone we went. We were informed on this occasion that we would need to have the rear rotors, calipers, pads, etc. replaced. This was told to us after the four hundred miles which took approximately two weeks to put on the vehicle. I will be the first to admit that I am not a mechanic. Thus the reason we take our vehicles to be fixed by reputable companies who should know what they are doing. Even though I am not a mechanic, I know that rotors, calipers, etc. do not go bad in a couple of weeks after having been supposedly checked. At any rate, we decided to take our Jeep elsewhere to have the repairs made and found out at that location that the rear wheel bearings were shot and that was the reason for the brake problems in the rear. The mechanic at this location also noted that the front brake rubber hoses were not replaced and that the new rotors were being destroyed for lack of brake fluid. My wife contacted Firestone's corporate office on several occasions. We were contacted by the district manager for Firestone who would not admit any fault by Firestone, but did offer us $800 for the repairs on the rear wheel bearings. Seems odd to offer money for something that was not Firestone's fault. read more

They decided to mount and balance brand new tires ($1400) knowing that the vehicle couldn't get an alignment due to supposed "tie rod and ball joint issues" without us knowing the issue. If we knew of that issue beforehand we wouldn't of had them put the tires on.(Who mounts and balances brand new tires without an alignment?) I had a second opinion on the parts, the tie rods were only loose on the steering sleeve, and I retightened them because apparently they don't know how too. they are still tight, the ball joints are tight and are good. Then they said the pitman arm and idler arm was junk. Had a second look and they are good. Everything is tight and only 6 months old. They quoted me $2200 to fix stuff that wasn't bad. All of these parts were changed in December 2024. They are completely incompetent on actually looking/testing stuff to see what the real issue is and too worried about scamming people to get money in their own pocket. Highly don't recommend, support your local mechanic not a greedy corporate slum like this place. read more

Had an oil change done and they charged me almost $20 a quart for a total of nearly $120 for oil. The dealership charged me $10/quart in the past. Since the truck had low miles, they inspected it and put on an exempt sticker. Well, Ok, but still charged me $32 for not doing the emissions test. When I questioned the charge, service manager said they charge if we do the emissions test or not. What a rip off. They will never see me again. read more

We drove in from out of state to bring a car to our daughter. The check engine light came on during our trip. We knew nobody for repairs in the area but saw Firestone was open even on Sunday. They read the code and we brought it back for the repair the next day. They were fast, credible and efficient. Couldn't have been more pleased with the outcome. read more

Went there to just get my oil changed. They were very friendly, so I felt comfortable with them, being this was the first time I went to them for any work. When I returned, the one worker told me they had bad news (giving me some unwanted anxiety) and wouldn't tell me what was wrong right there; they had to take me to my vehicle in the garage and show me. I was freaking out, thinking I would not be able to drive my vehicle out of there (like if they did something to it because it was fine when I drove it in there). When they got me to my vehicle, they shown me how my tailpipe was broken off of the muffler and told me that my tires all needed replaced. They then pulled me over to the computers and shown me that for all the work and new tires, it would be over $1000. I didn't have that kind of money, so I told them I would think about it. When I drove it out of there, it was loud (which I knew was not like that when I got in there) and the next day, my anti-lock light came on and stayed on. I went for an inspection not long before that day to a trusted mechanic, and the tires passed and there were no problems seen then. I looked over the paperwork Firestone gave me on parts and service costs and realized that they were charging well over double for some of the parts I could get at the auto parts store. I went to my trusted mechanic and he said he could fix it for so much cheaper and shown me how two of the tires (with his little tool he had) could use to be replaced, but the other 2 were just fine. He said the tailpipe was rusting and perhaps maybe it was just good timing it came off while I was at Firestone, or maybe it was shaken because he knows of some garages doing that sort of thing to test durability, but he didn't know for sure. My thing is, I know some people like a thorough inspect of their vehicle sometimes, whether they ask for it or not, and appreciate it (even I appreciate it when people go out of their way to do that), but I am the type of person who comes for a specific purpose and only want that service done, not everything else. Oil change was great, just not the other parts. I am reluctant to want to return there, thinking some other unnecessary thing will go wrong. And it would have been nice to just tell me what was wrong, instead of making such a dramatic show, and show me, if I asked to see the problem(s). Just giving my experience. read more
