Location is clean and employees are pleasant. Made appointment online for 10, Recieved email appointment confirmed in the preview of email, so didn't open it. They changed the time then approved it. Didn't notify me of the changed time. Showed up and had to come back 2 hours later. No apology, no phone call. That's fine. San Marcos Firestone use to at least call me to propose new time and see what works for me, the customer. Just coming in for oil change and tire rotation. I have not had any problems with my tires. This is the second time I come in for routine auto care and get told I have a screws and need to purchase new tires. I have sensors and never had any loss of air but now have 2 tires that have to be replaced ? I keep the sensors on my screen to watch them closely. This seems to be a common sales scam at this location. And it's when one particular person is at the desk. The woman. I like to be consistent where I take my cars but need to be able to trust I am not being scammed. I will start finding some where else to service my car. read more

We had a coolant leak coming in from out of town and found this shop to be the only thing open on Saturday & Sunday. They took the time to look into our issue and turns out likely a stuck thermostat that was now working properly. They kept the pressure running overnight to be sure and when we came to pick it up on Sunday, there was no charge for even running the diagnostics. This is the 2nd time I've made an appointment to have my Lifetime alignment. The first time, I was told I'd have to wait almost an hour after my appointment time to be serviced, and I couldn't wait. I made a 7 am appointment for today (right when they open). It's 7:03 am and the doors are locked. I go around to the side where 3 employees are hanging out, and they tell me the person with the keys (the manager) is having a baby and no one there has the keys. I ask how long it's going to take for someone else to get here with keys and they have no idea. Lordy!!! Firestone, you need to do better with your customer service. Got a flat tire and limped in literally5 mins before close. My car is one of those no full spare only the pump with the fix a flat deal, and that was not fixing my flat. They stayed open for me and fixed my tire without any fuss, seemed like it was a normal practice for them and was great customer service. Was able to get a new tire installed and out the door in less than 30 mins. I have seen some negative reviews elsewhere on this location, but we did not encounter any of those issues. It was the Monday after Christmas and I discovered a leak or low pressure warning on one of my truck tires. It was important to get it fixed right away due to grandkids being in town. The store was busy but the shop worked me right in. What a caring group of folks. The service rep even called customers 'sir' - it's nice to see how companies handle customer service so well. Returned about 1.5 hours later to find they haven't touched the car and it would take another hour. I was also told I didn't know who I dropped the car off with (because apparently I can't tell the difference between a man and a woman) and that "she" told me it wouldn't be ready until 2pm. Yesterday was our last visit at this Firestone. We have had nothing but good experiences at Firestone Houston but this place can't seem to get it together. Staff is courteous but scheduling, reliability and workmanship are all sub par. We have given them many opportunities to try to sway our opinion in hopes that maybe our experience was a one off but not the case. They make appointments and then don't have the service techs available to do the work. Communication is horrible. Last straw was when our vehicle was supposed to have work done before a lengthy road trip and we received a call two hours after our scheduled appointment while vehicle was there telling us they couldn't get to it and could we keep it overnight, I had made it very clear when making the appointment we would need to pick up vehicle that evening as we were leaving first thing in the morning . Unfortunately much like previous situations where communicating with staff wasn't clear, that had not been passed along or blatantly ignored if it was notated. They act like customers can alter their schedule on a dime without any concern for clients schedule. Despite location being convenient ,it's just not worth dealing with the incompetence of this party location. Routine inspection was an hour a half passed the time that was supposed to be n then I was told that it didn't pass because it needed new wiiper blades! That was odd because we just had the annual checkup at the dealer in San Antonio. I told them to go ahead and put new blades n that I wanted the old blades to take back to the dealer, and, wouldn't you know it, they didn't have the ones to replace mine! If you go there to get an inspection, take heed because you're probably going to have to buy something to pass the inspection! Oh, and by the way, you've still got to pay the $7 fee even though it didn't pass! read more

Wouldn't even give them 1 star if I didn't have to, I took my 1996 Dodge Ram 2500 in for a full vehicle service and AC check. I left them the truck 04/12/21, picked it up 4/16/21. Before bringing the truck in, it had just been washed and got a full tank of gas. Picking up the truck it was covered in dirt, has a scrape now in the front bumper, and less than a half tank of gas. All I gotta say is avoid Firestone on 971 N Walnut Ave, New Braunfels. I paid $1500 to have them fix a number of things one thing being the AC and it's not fixed. Long story short they went and did fuck all to my truck but had a great time getting her dirty and scraping my bumper. read more

Two hours later they came to me and told me they failed to order the tires from their warehouse when I scheduled the appointment and the warehouse closed at 1pm. I then asked if they could then just change the oil, patch the flat (simply picked up a nail) and schedule me for Monday for the tires--the answer was yes, and we can get you on your way in an hour. Three hours later, they said my car was ready. They had changed the oil, but not even looked at the flat tire in the back. They tried to sell me a battery and never scheduled the service for Monday. i spent 5 hrs and $79 for an oil change. I could have gotten that at Jiffy Lube in 10-20 minutes for $50. Needless to say I will take my tire business somewhere else where they treat customers time with respect. read more

Because of Covid-19, my usual place to get an oil change was closed. I decided to use Firestone simply because I could use a coupon I found online. I am so glad I did. Anton was so incredibly helpful and although I came in for an oil change, turns out I had a nail in one of my tires. The good news it was repairable. Anton expressed that it was going to be another $20 but it needed to be fixed and $20 was cheaper than a new tire. Then Anton says, "Wait a minute. This is actually free, right now, as you're an essential worker." I was shocked and so grateful that Anton was honest and shared that information with me. It showed the kind of people you have working with your company that he would rather do the right thing than to unnecessarily charge me $20 more. Very happy to use your services in the future. I originally made an appointment at 10AM on 7/12/21 for a routine alignment check and tire rotation, with the addition of a new tire I had a flat on. I came in as normal and dropped the car off as I went on my errands. I came back 6 HOURS LATER and my car hadn't even been touched! This is when I became somewhat upset and expressed to the representative that this was ridiculous waiting this long, with an appointment. They apologized of course and gave the excuse that they were "short handed" and "backed up due to another vehicle taking too long." I then couldn't go anywhere because I was already dropped back off and waited AN ADDITIONAL 2 HOURS! Not to mention I was on a donut or I would have left at that point. Now look, I'm a very patient guy and I understand things happen, but there is no excuse waiting 8 HOURS and spending all day waiting for my car when I made an appointment.The representative then had the nerve to charge me full price for my new tire after waiting that long and failing to fulfill the Firestone Triple Promise of being "right on time." Dropped my Jeep off at 8am for an oil change, balance and rotation. I finally called at 545 pm to check on it only to be told that they could maybe get to the oil change but not the tire rotation. I'm in town for one day and head back to work on the morning so they have really put me in a bind. After calling last week to make an appointment for an oil change, we left our Hyundai Veloster at the New Braunfels store Monday morning by 9 am. My husband and I returned at noon (as he was told "about an hour and a half") and stood in line for 20 minutes to be told it was not completed yet. I asked the technician Mark if he could call when completed, and he assured that they would. By 7 pm, we had not received a call. We returned to Firestone to pick up the car, so that neither of us would have to go without a car the next day. The car was locked inside. (Appropriate but problematic!) My husband returned this am to pick up the car, assuming it would be done first. Firestone had not yet started the car service so my husband waited over an hour. Firestone compensated by not charging for the oil change, but in the mean time we were without a car for approximately 27 hours and made four trips to the store. We had scheduled an oil change for our other car for today, so Firestone lost our business for today and the future. read more

I scheduled an overall checkup for my seldom used pickup truck. Wanted to be sure of it's road worthiness. Asked for an evaluation for future potential issues, too. I had an oil change as well. I turned the vehicle in in at the scheduled time (with no intent to wait) and received a call midday that it was ready. When I didn't make it back as initially planned, they placed a reminder call. I mention all this because they were on point with their courtesy and service. Accommodation had also been made to follow State COVID 19 for the business. The invoice included a separate page with recommended but not required service. When I picked up the truck, Lonny went over everything with me a second time (he already did this when he called about the status of the vehicle), clarifying why the recommendations were made. STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!! Should have read the reviews first, would not have gone there. Went in to get my engine light turned off. They said they would run a complete diagnostics which would take around two hours. Five minutes later they come in and the mechanic, Jeremy (who was genuinely a good guy), said before he runs a diagnostic he checks the gas nozzle area and sure enough there was a little plastic ring that had dislodged and he took it out. No work whatsoever on their part. Nevertheless, they charged me $108 for the diagnostic test. If they wanted repeat business he should have just said forget about the cost, or charged me $20, or something that would make me want to come back. Instead, I get charged $108 for virtually nothing. I didn't even get a full diagnostics test done and still got charged $108. And now the light is still coming on! Miserable way to treat a retired military person on a fixed income. read more
