Not from around here and was headed home on a 2 hr drive with the family and pulling a boat when my battery light came on. I stopped at autozone to have it tested and was determined the alternator was going out. I went ahead and bought the alternator just in case. Was driving by this Firestone and decided to see if they could replace it. Man was very nice and said yes they could get to it but that I had to buy the alternator from them. He did mention he would price match it though. Said he would meet me outside. After 10-15 min of waiting I asked where the guy was and I was told he had an emergency and left. No one took over helping me. I get someone new. This guy quotes me the alternator but did not price match it. He said I can price match the exact one you have but you bought a 200amp and I'm quoting you the 125amp. I simple said ok, isn't 200amp better, do the 200. He said ok. After waiting 2 hrs and the truck is ready he tells me the 200amp isn't going to work and it's going to die on me again. I asked why. He said because it needs the 125amp. I said isn't it your job to tell the customer what the vehicle needs and you should have told me the 200amp wasn't going to work? I told him to swap them out, he agreed to do this but now refused to price match the alternator even though the 125amp and the 200amp were the same price. I drive my truck all over Texas for work-- It has 260K miles on it and I know keeping it maintained is highly important. About 3 months ago, I had play in my front end and I took it to another shop in New Braunfels and they replaced both upper and lower ball joints, control arms, and the tie rod ends and he fixed the problem. When the other shop repaired the front end, I did not get the truck aligned because it was still driving straight. Fast forward 3 months- Last week, I took it to Firestone to get it aligned because I noticed it was slightly pulling to one side. They quoted me 80 dollars, which I agreed to. I got a call about an hour later and they told me the upper and lower ball joints on one side needed to be replaced as well as all of the tie rod ends. They told me the truck needed to have this work done or it would not be able to be aligned, thus ruining my new tires. They quoted me 1500 dollars for the work, not including the cost of the alignment-- altogether, I would have a $1580.00 bill. Perplexed and knowing I had just gotten that work done 3 months ago, I told them to hold off on the repairs as I was going to take it back to original shop to see what the deal was because it should have been under warranty. The other shop immediately jacked the truck up, had about 3 mechanics looking for the problem and showed me none of the things that Firestone was saying was wrong was actually wrong. I took it to a 3rd shop and didnt tell them about either of the previous shops diagnosis and the 3rd shop also told me nothing was wrong with the ball joints or tie rod ends. In other words, the truck's front end was in perfect condition and it only needed an alignment. I then took the truck to Precision alignment and told the owner of Precision "If for some reason you cannot align this truck because of the front end, I will still pay you what you are charging for an alignment (which is 60 dollars BTW). Precision (4th opinion by this point) said it aligned perfectly and that the front end was in good shape. To sum it up, Firestone tried to charge me 1600 dollars for what I ended up getting for 60 bucks. If you want an honest guy who wont rip you off and doesnt give you the run-around, dont take your car here. If you need an alignment for 25% cheaper than Firestone and fast service, take it to another alignment shop in New Braunfels. If you want to get told your car is broken when it isnt and throw over a thousand dollars away, take it Firestone on Walnut. Ask for Mark. BTW-- when I had The Other Shop repair both control arms, all ball joints and tie rod ends 3 months before, his bill was less than 700 dollars. - Less than half of what Firestone wanted for only one set of ball joints, no control arms and tie rod ends. read more

If I could leave no stars I would. I called on a Friday morning early to find if I dropped off my car by 10am would they be able to get a oil change and tire balance in before the end of the day. The person I spoke to said yes. At 530 I became concerned since I never heard from them. I called was told it wouldn't be ready until the next day sometime. Horrible communication on Firestone part, even more so horrible attitude about lying to a customer. read more

I took my Toyota Tundra in to get it inspected today. This Firestone would not pass inspection as they said it was leaking power steering fluid & the brakes needed repair. Their estimate to fix these items was $912.71. Decided to get a 2nd opinion and tried Brad's 10 Minute Oilchange #5 in New Braunfels and they passed it for inspection with no problem. They told me Firestone was really trying to stick it to me & there was nothing wrong with my truck. I will not be going back to Firestone. read more

I've been going to Firestones for nearly 15 years now and have never experienced bad service.....until now. 1st time about a month ago I went in to have my AC inspected. Dropped my truck off at 10am and told them I needed to have it back by 3pm to go to work. My truck wasn't even moved when I came back. I was told somebody missed the order. Went back this week to have AC checked and oil changed. Again I dropped off early AM and needed to have it back by 3. Same story. Today I took my truck to my regular Firestone on Goliad Rd and they completed all the work fast and on time. read more

STAY AWAY !!!! I had some truck issues (2016 Silverado) and brought it in here because other firestones have been helpful and quick... not the case here. After my truck sat there for 3 days without even being looked at, I had to call to find out what was wrong with my truck. They did not call me back like they said they would. Well, my fuel pump went out. They called the dealership to get the correct part which took a day, then Thursday they said it would be ready by Friday afternoon at the latest. Well it wasn't ready till Saturday right before close. After I picked It up.. I had it for not even a week ! the following Thursday after pick up, I was driving down I35, and the truck completed died on me while driving. Luckily I was able to exit and make it to the side of the feeder road. After coming to a complete stop, I smelled gas!!! I called my insurance to get road side assistance, and when the tow truck got it lifted up, Gas started pouring out of the bottom. After I made it back to firestone, they told me I'd have to wait even though they are the ones who didn't finish the job the first time. turns out, it was a fuel line that didn't get connected correctly. They said it would be ready Friday and would call me when it was done, I HAD TO CALL THEM AGAIN , only to find out it wont be ready till Saturday because they "didn't have a chance to look at it " Friday. Well I pick up my truck again this past Saturday and I made it clear that I wanted a full tank of gas because I had literally just filled up before the fuel line came off and leaked all my gas !! well they said it was ready and I show up, my tank is missing a quarter tank of gas and NOW I HAVE A CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. Not only do they not call you back, but they lie and tell you anything you want to hear just to get you off the phone. Terrible service !!!!! and I have tried to call the area manager, Chris, 3 times and he doesn't answer or call back. Last time I ever use a firestone in the san Antonio area. read more

Absolutely the worst. I have taken company vehicles for several years there and always been disappointed for the most part with service. Staff is short, never seem to know what's going on. I have continued because of corporate arraignment. Dropped the vehicle off on Friday 8-3-18 at 8:00 AM and was told it would be ready by the following Tuesday. Tuesday no call by mid-morning. Called three times and was told " I have no idea what is going on with the vehicle but will call you back. No call back. Three calls on Wednesday. Same response, " I am not working on it and the guy who was is on vacation. I was told if you want to come get it feel free. Never again and will tell anyone who listens do not go there. Complete rip off - nothing more to say. They will try to fix things that don't need to be fixed for way more than it should cost. When they gave us a quote, we told them not to proceed with any work and when we had gotten back they charged us an hour labor ($120) for work we did not ask them to do. I told them I didn't approve the work so they did take it off with a bit of attitude. Go to an honest mechanic that isn't a big chain if you want a fair price. read more

HORRIBLE. I dropped off my damaged tire over a week ago. Gave all my info. Was promised a call. No call. Went in this morning. No customers but no one acknowledged me at the counter for ten minutes. Then they couldn't find me in the system. No work done. Didn't seem to care. Took my rim and tire and left. Never again. Awful. read more

Absolutely terrible service, dropped off a trailer to get all new tires. Sat outside for 12 hours never to be done. Then attempted to schedule a vehicle inspection and was told I could bring it but they wouldn't touch it for 2 days. And onto the final straw, I purchased tires with a road hazard warranty and lifetime balance and rotation. I got a nail in one of my tires 3 inches from the sidewall. The slick sales manager told me I had a nail in my side wall and needed new tires. Little did he know I had worked for firestone for multiple years and am well aware of what warrants a repairable tire. They refused to balance and rotate my tires, refused to repair my tire oh and my vehicle had been there for 10 hours.Which translates to "we dont want to honor your tire repairs or rotations BC we dont make money on that" I caught them in a lie and we had a huge blow up before the staff tried to gang up on me in an argument. Good job way to win over your customers! BEWARE DO NOT TAKE YOUR VEHICLE HERE , TRUST ME I USED TO WORK HERE AND IT WENT DOWN HILL BIG TIME. GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! I am in the middle of mediation to receive all of my money back for the "road hazard warranty" and "lifetime balance and rotate". Drove down the road 5 minutes and paid $12 dollars to have the repair done on the spot . How many elderly people or single moms has this place taken advantage of BC of there automotive ignorance? Do not take your vehicle to this store. I have been using firestone for over 30 years. We broke down near New Braunfels and towed our car here. The manager Mark was insulting and incompetent. He may have thought he was being funny, but actually insulted us while we were in a very bad situation. We never received any calls about our vehicle and had to call them. They had it for almost 2 months before it was fixed. We had to call corporate and complain before action was taken. Avoid this store at all costs. read more

Called and made an appointment for 8:30 the next morning, the lady on the phone quoted me an hour. Took off some time that morning to make sure I had enough time. As soon as I got there, no one was at the desk to greet me. Waited five minutes just to talk to someone. Guy came in and asked me what we were doing to my car (just a simple rotation, wheel balance, and possible alignment if I needed it). He took my keys and paperwork and hung it in the back. I sat there for 30 minutes and saw that they still hadn't taken my car to the back to be put on a lift. They had two open bays and my car was still sitting in the parking lot! I went to the desk and asked why they still hadn't moved my car to the back and to remind him that I was quoted an hour. Keep in mind that I MADE AN APPOINTMENT! I asked why they hadn't taken to my car to the back and if it would still be an hour. The guy looked at me as if he was a deer staring into on coming traffic. He obviously had forgotten about me. He said it would be more like an hour and half from the time they moved my car and he didn't seem to know when that would be. I asked for my keys back and left feeling beyond frustrated and angry. They pretty much ignored me and forgot about my car. I took time out of my work day and chose to do business with them. NEVER AGAIN! read more

I heard a noise coming from under the hood of my 2005 Altima which I had just purchased three weeks ago. The car has 89,000 miles and the belt was split in half but still hanging on so I went and bought a new AC Delco belt for it at a cost of $12 then went by another shop to see when they opened the next day which happened to be Saturday. About two hours later I was driving and the belt broke and I had to leave my car overnight in a parking lot near my home. Firestone just happed to be near where I live so I stopped in for a price quote on my way to the parking lot where my car was. They wanted $52 for the belt alone! A 400% markup and another $49 to put on their belt, claiming that they couldn't use the AC Delco belt that I bought because if the engine then failed that they would be liable for it and could not warranty someone else's parts. What a croc!!! When I told him that since he didn't make the belt, if it failed before a reasonable amount of time and use had occurred that the liability would be with AC Delco, he then said that he would not warranty the work that his shop had done and that every shop had the same policy, meaning that every repair shop in Texas was the same way. Don't patronize this shop unless you want to get ripped off and taken advantage of. I called for a tow truck to take my car to the other shop that I had originally stoped at the day before and they had NO PROBLEM installing the belt within 20 minutes for a total of $53, almost the exact amount that Firestone wanted for the belt alone! read more
