Last week I blew a tire and realized afterward that I had no spare. I was convinced Discount Tire had forgotten to put it back in my trunk after the last time I was in. That meant I had to Uber myself (and my tire) to Firestone, where I got charged $350 for the "cheapest tire in my size" they had. Fast forward to today--I pulled up to Discount Tire looking like a total disheveled mess, with my car just as much of a mess as I was, and my two toddlers in the backseat. I was only planning on a quick air check. I casually mentioned what had happened, and Martin immediately jumped in to help. He brought out Chase, his senior manager, who agreed we needed to get me a proper spare right away. While looking over my car, Martin also spotted a screw in my back tire and got me into a bay on the spot. He even offered me an amazing deal to help offset the frustration I'd had with the missing spare. Here's the kicker: halfway through the process, Martin double-checked my trunk and found out that my car actually has two floorboards. My spare had been hiding under the second one the whole time! He never made me feel dumb about the mix-up, still honored the deal, and was patient even though I also lost the wheel-lock key. When Martin had to step away and Chase was tied up inside, another gentleman helped finish the process with the exact same kindness and respect. As a woman, I'm often treated like I don't know what I'm doing at car places. In this case, I really didn't know what I was doing, but these three men treated me with nothing but respect, generosity, and professionalism. If you're a single woman or mom who has to handle these things on your own--especially if you've got little ones in tow--this is the place to go. We have always bought our tires from Discount Tires. The main reason if the tire is ever punctured because of a nail or other road debris it will be replaced if at the time of purchase a certificate has been purchased. U stop by to get the tires checked ( no charge, just get in line if another car is there). My son purchased a certificate even though he did not buy his tires from discount tire. But he's now covered for rotation, tire checks etc. the crew is friendly, always courteous. I'll always buy my tires from them. read more

Front desk employees at Discount tire are very responsive. They immediately greeted me at the door when I arrived, even though it was Friday around lunchtime--incredibly busy. After examining my car, they carefully explained the issue with my tires and gave me options for new ones in three tiers of pricing (good, better, best). There was no pressure, which I really appreciate. Unfortunately, they underestimated my wait time. Told me it would be an hour wait but it ended up being two hours. Despite the wait, I still really liked the place. Since the shop is conveniently located in the HEB grocery shopping center (off hwy 46 & 337), it was a great opportunity for some multitasking baby!! Hubby & I went next door to HEB while we were waiting for my car & got a little grocery shopping done. I came here back in 2020 to get new tires put on my son's vehicle. I purchased the hazardous thing with the tires and I'm glad I did. For the last few weeks, the tires have been getting low and I assumed it was because of the weather making the air go out. Today, I took the car in and explained what was going on. I was helped very quickly even though the lobby was packed. I was given an estimated time of one hour for my vehicle to be done. When my vehicle was done, one of the guys who was working on it came and explained to me what was going on. Long story short, I ended up having to pay only $21 for a new tire on my left rear and they were able to plug the right rear. This location has never given me any issues when bringing a vehicle in. Everyone has always been very professional and extremely nice! I would definitely recommend anyone use this company who may be looking to purchase new tires or who may be looking to utilize a chain company that has employees who possess integrity. These guys who work here are not just out for a commission or to make unnecessary up-sales. They are all about customer service and quality and will lead you in the RIGHT direction. I was even more ecstatic when this location opened, as it is much easier to get to than the one in north San Antonio. However, I can't wait for the new one to open in my town. I have to say that the best thing Discount has done is appointments. You can get in, have your tires rotated and balanced, and be out in less than 30 minutes. The people that work for Discount try their best to make sure you have a good experience. It starts from the guys up front and goes all the way to the guys that bring you your car after work is completed. To make the experience better, you get your receipt in your email almost instantly. Dropped a trailer tire by to have it fixed at 8AM when they opened. I got a call 15 mins later saying they pulled the object out of the tire and it is not repairable. I received a very passive aggressive attitude from this guy named MARSHALL. I admit I don't have an exceptional knowledge about tires but he had a choice as to whether to talk to me as if I'm some clueless moron. For example, he asked me (in a comical but humiliating manner) if I knew why my tire light was still on. Then he had me nervously guess in front of him so he could have his little laugh at some stupid young girl who knows nothing about tires. Well the answer was that I don't know, that's why I'm here at Discount Tire. It's like going to a steak restaurant and getting made fun of because you don't know how to cook a steak. Took my son's truck in for new tires. The truck has just been serviced at the dealership hours before, receiving a thorough checkup to look for anything that might need to be replaced or repaired. The tire technician found loose nuts on the left strut and pointed it out to me. After the new tires installed, I returned to the dealer and pointed out the loose nuts on the strut. They admitted they failed to tighten the nuts. I am grateful Discount Tire caught this and brought it to my attention. My family has always received superior service at Discount Tire.
