I'm quite angry about what happened to me at this location. I've been on the fence about Firestone as a brand for a long time. I like that they have convenient hours and that you can schedule appointments online with ease, but these are the only two real positives about this company. That being said, I made an appointment for my inspection and was able to do so easily. I've been to Firestone, both this location and others, many times before. I was last here in October 2023 (which is important*) when I had my front passenger side tire replaced. At that time there were no issues and I was happy with the service. Anyway, back to present day, I had dropped my car off and got a call a few hours later telling me that not only was every single tire on my car completely shot, but they were also all the wrong size? Reminder: I had just bought a tire *from them* less than 4 months before. The back tires on my car were purchased elsewhere in November 2022. You're telling me all these tires that are less than 15 months old are "shot"? What?? I work from home so I don't put any sort of serious miles on my car, so there is NO WAY that is possible. Not only that but how are they the wrong size? I've taken this car to other locations, including the dealership, and not one other mechanic has ever said anything remotely like that. I'm furious with this company. Either they're blatantly lying to me about the state of my tires (likely) or they sold me a defective piece of equipment when they put a wrong size tire on my car only four months ago. The former is unacceptable and the latter is shameful! They quoted me nearly 3K just to pass inspection. I'm sorry, but I am not replacing perfectly good tires that are less than 2 years old. I will be taking my car elsewhere for service and I will never use this location again. Over the years I have given Firestone a lot of business and paid them in the thousands altogether, but that will stop today. I paid $80 just to be lied to, what a rip off! The worst car repair experience of my life. No exaggeration. I called to check on progress and was told it's ready. Got to the shop..."Oops it's not ready. Come back tomorrow." Then they ordered the wrong parts TWICE which forced me to rent a car over Labor Day weekend. It took a week to complete a one day repair. Drove car home and noticed a squealing noise. Took it to another shop. Firestone mechanic forgot to reconnect a vacuum hose which cost me another $150 to fix. Do not take your car here under any circumstances. Today, the store manager refused to take my car for an oil change. I did schedule a 7:00 AM drop off for service time, and I was unable to get to store until 8:00 AM. He adamantly refused service even though there was NO ONE in the store waiting and the lot was almost empty. I requested to have a walk-in appointment, and he refused that as well. I had my tire delivered from 'Tire Rack'..it arrived the day before! I was told that 'it will be a while'..I asked 'what does that mean? I was told..'they are slammed'!? I waited one hour...no movement..so I decided to get an Uber Home! 4 hours later..I call..they didn't reach out to me to inquire on the status..I was told ..almost done..but here is where the 'up selling started'..HATE THAT! DO NOT GO HERE! I made an appointment and brought my car here for a PA inspection, oil change, and tire rotation. I was told that my car would not pass the PA state inspection due to multiple suspension problems that would total $4,000 to "pass the PA inspection". After receiving the information I thought that I have a 2016 SUV with less than 70,000 miles on it....should have this problem. I took it to another auto shop and had them look at it. They shook their heads in shame because there was nothing wrong with my vehicle's suspension. The Firestone on Lancaster Ave is a shady business that is out to take advantage of its customers. Popped in for a routine wheel alignment for my car. Made an appointment the day before which was sweet. The dealership where I get my service done is right down the street however I have lifetime alignment contract here. I ended up showing up early for my appointment so I expected to have to wait a while. No problem they have wifi and and tv in the waiting area. They actually finished my car pretty quickly. Gave me some recommendations on tires which I do need. Couldn't get at the time since I just gave the dealership my money but I appreciated the recommendation. The people I dealt with were professional and courteous. The guy at the check in was a little to busy trying to show his co-worker a video on his phone to tell me my car was ready. I actually saw it back in the parking space so I went to checkout myself. Other than that I have no complaints. read more

Needed a simple, easy tire replacement (for a flat). Called at 11:30 AM this morning. Needed to be done by 5 PM that day. Guy said, "Get it here by 12:30 and I can definitely get it done by 5. And even if it isn't done, I will just do it myself since it's just a tire." I rush there by 12:30. Wait 4 hours. At 4:30 a different guy says, "Yeah sorry we're not going to be able to get to it. Crazy day." What he SHOULD HAVE DONE is then said something like, "But since we promised it, and made you sit there for 4 hours, here's 25% off the next visit," ....or something like that. But no; no action, just meaningless words. Imagine if you had waited 4 hours at a Restaurant, only to be told, "Yeah sorry, we can't serve you dinner." Imagine if you had waited 4 hours in a Fed Ex line only to be told, "Yeah sorry, we can't send any packages." Anyone would be enraged, especially if you'd been promised service. So, Firestone Wynnewood, then it's ON YOU to validate the customer's upsetment and make up for YOUR BROKEN PROMISE. And you know what DOESN'T do anything really helpful? DO NOT USE ONLINE APPOINTMENT SCHEDULER!!! I was told that I would be called if my appointment could not be accepted. After driving nearly an hour in rush hour traffic on a Friday and in the state of this gas crisis, I was told that they was booked to the T and they had no open appointments available. The saga continues, nearly three months later... I went to Firestone in Elkton Maryland to get my breaks fixed. A day later, I had to return because the brakes that they fixed ended up somehow severing my brake line and my brake fluid leaked out. I was almost in an accident, because I had no brake power while I was on the expressway. They fixed the brake line but the squeak that took me back the first time returned. he told me that within two weeks the brakes would seal or cement and the squeak would go away. But it didn't. Instead, my ABS and all wheel drive and swerve light came on, so I took my car to another fire stone in Bala-Cynwyd. The guy in Bala-Cynwyd inspected my car, came back to me and told me I had to pay $2300 to fix the problem. He went on to say that the brakes was put on top of really rusted rotors, the break-line leak had caused the sensor to slip and pop off and on all together my axle something happened with my axle. All the things that happened happened because of their fix on my breaks. I told him I got it fix by fire stone. He swears me down that I didn't get it fixed by fire stone. I showed him the paperwork. He says well as a third-party its not insured. So I filed a claim with Bridgestone who owns fire stone. They wait three weeks to come get the car. they hold onto the car for a week then they call me and say my claim was denied because a independent inspector said they wasn't liable for what actually happened. I told him your own people said that the work that was done on my car was the cause of the work that was needed to be done on my car. They denied the claim anyway. he said if I get the actual dealership to say that it was caused by the breaks that they would reopen a claim and pay for the fix. So I called the inspector. The inspector refused to give me the paperwork because he said he is committed to his client and their privacy. I said it's my car. He said still, his client is most important. So that goes to show that it wasn't an independent inspector because they wouldn't have loyalty to anybody but their work. In any case, never ever ever ever ever ever ever use fire stone because they will break your shit and won't pay for it. read more

How bad can a tire repair appointment be? Bad enough that the surly, unfriendly person at the counter immediately made it clear that what I thought was an online appointment wasn't and that he had no intention of helping me with a tire repair and had no appointments for 3 days. I guess it was my fault that the online appointment system didn't send me an email saying I had or didn't have an appointment. Believe it or not, the person escalated his glee at not being able to help me. I said that I would go to my dealer, he sneered, then barked that no dealer would take me right away, especially on the 4th of July weekend. When in response to his question I gave him the dealer's name, he laughed, making it clear he thought that dealer would never take me on the same day without an appointment. I told him that this Firestone store had always been a hit and miss location in terms of friendliness and he said something under his breath (it didn't sound nice) and walked away. I then suggested what he could do and then he walked away and yelled at me across the parking lot as I was going to my car. I could not discern his words, but I doubt he was wishing me something nice. I went down the street to the dealer, which welcomed me with open arms, by name, and fixed the tire without an appointment. They thanked me multiple times too. Afterwards, I called Firestone's 800 number the same day and spoke with a very cordial person, who assured me that I would receive a return call within 2 or 3 business days from a regional person. Do NOT use this place. They scam you. I requested a tire repair for a tire with a slow puncture due to a nail in the tire. They called me to say it had been previously patched in the same place as the nail went through, and I would need a new tire and another new one on the same axle. I agreed thinking I had no choice, and was charged over $800. I later realized that they were lying and the tire was in fact new, had never been patched, and could have been patched - I know this because they actually moved the tire (still with the nail and unpatched! - how dangerous and incompetent) to the rear of the vehicle, and I got it patched by another garage. When I confronted them with photographic and video evidence, they didn't care and wouldn't reimburse me. The guy said 'maybe they lied, but it wasn't me who lied!' - and they have a big sign up saying they love honesty!! read more

I took my 13 year old car (that runs well with regular maintenance) here since I could get a state inspection done sooner than my normal garage. Firestone failed my car for the inspection and required $556 in work to pass and recommended a further $575 in work. Instead I took my car to my normal garage and they found no issues and passed my car. In addition, the $77 mechanical and emissions inspection fee is steep; my normal garage charges less than $50. My car was taken there when I got a flat tire last week due to the terrible potholes on Girard ave. I had another full tire in my trunk instead of a standard spare, and just needed the tire changed. They held my car hostage for 4 days for something that should have taken 20 minutes, and every time I called, I was never able to speak to a manager. I was left without any mode of transportation from Thursday until Su day, and I was working the weekend, which required travel by car. Made an appointment to get a nail pulled from my tire and have a patch put on. We dropped off the car at 9:00am and didn't get it back until 1:30. We were told it would take an hour and a half, tops. After questioning the status of my car multiple times, we were told that their "tire machine" was broken and they had to wait for it to get fixed. None of this was told to me when I dropped it off or while I was waiting. I would have gone elsewhere if I had known. I came here for a couple of oil changes without incident. Then, one of my headlights burnt out. I stopped in to buy a bulb. They told me they couldn't just sell me a lightbulb, but one of their mechanics could install it... OK, fine. One new lightbulb and one $30+ labor charge later, my trusty Civic was back in business. When I popped the hood a couple weeks later, I found a headlight gasket sitting on top of the air filter box, instead of in the light where it belongs. Now, this isn't a critical piece of equipment, but I couldn't believe I paid someone to change a bulb and they didn't even do it right. I suppose I should make a "How many Firestone mechanics does it take to change a lightbulb" joke, with the punchline being "Go someplace else." read more

I used to frequent the Firestone in Pottstown when I worked in that area. Great mechanics, superb customer service and the Firestone card comes in handy when paying for a substantial bill (6 months 0%). I am now back working on the Main Line so I figured I would try the Firestone in Wynnewood since my experiences at the Pottstown branch were so good. Yeah. Unfortunately I wasn't even close to right. I went here to have 2 tires (that I bought online) and my car inspected. I dropped my car off around 7:30am and told them I'd be back around 2pm to pick up the car. They called me at noon telling me the car was done. Cool. When I got there I paid my bill and walked out to the car. Both new tires on the rear had this white ooze all over them. Some kind of lubricant. It was all over my rims & tires. Whatever...I can deal with it since i clean my car often but it would have been nice if they even made an attempt to clean it off. The next day I noticed that my TPMS was reading for the wrong tires. I also noticed that I had a small leak in one tire since my tire pressure would drop by 1 or 2 PSI everyday. I called up my buddies at Firestone and brought it back telling them the issue. I picked up the car a few hours later and they told me that sometimes the TPMS stem cracks when changing the tires and it causes a leak. OK no problem. His response....that will be $35 for the TPMS stem that our tech broke while changing your tire. How convenient. Personally I think that cost would be on the place changing the tire. I guess Firestone works in backwards world. I told the guy behind the counter my thoughts on the situation and he didn't care even a little about what I had to say. He just wanted the $35. So now the TPMS are on the right tires and the leak is fixed....Oh wait. After a few days I notice that that pesky little leak is still there. Instead of dealing with the Fire people again I went to a local shop who told me the tire was not mounted correctly and there was a leak in the seal. All fixed...for real this time. If you have a business based on changing tires and you can't change tires.... maybe you should open a car wash. read more

I recommend this Firestone to everyone I know. Whether I have an appointment or not, they always fit me in and I'm never there for longer than an hour to hour and a half waiting for my car. Being a woman, they are always respectful to me, never try to oversell me, and thoroughly explain everything to me about what is going on with my car. I feel very cheated by firestone. I was a loyal customer for over 4 years, and continuously brought my car in for service. During my last visit, they realigned my tires without asking me, and charged over $100 for this service. In addition, I took my car to a family friend today, who completed an inspection on the car. They told me that 3 of my 4 tires matched (which would not pass inspection), and the odd tire was a firestone tire (one I had purchased last year to pass inspection.) It is important to note that not all employees here will take advantage of their customers, but this past experience has caused me to refrain from bringing my business here again. read more

I had been going here for about ten years when I finally realized that the service had completely deteriorated as the prices and dishonesty skyrocketed. I went here for an inspection in July and ended up being charged an astronomical amount for repairs that they claimed were necessary to pass inspection. I believe that they knew that since the process was taking so long, I would have agreed to anything in order to have my car released so that I could get to work. After paying so much, at the very least I expected my car to have a "like new" feel. It broke down for the first time in it's life within thirty minutes of leaving their lot. My car had died so I called AAA and they came to jump me. My car is very old and there have been a lot of problems with the battery so I was not surprised when I found it dead. AAA jumped it extremely quickly, I was with the technician the entire time then I drove it to the Firestone. There was only one person behind the counter on the phone and he asked me to wait until he was finished because he was the only one there. I sympathized with him but thought it was odd such a busy, franchised location would only have one person behind the counter on a weekday morning. So i waited and was finally called up. I said my battery had died and wanted it recharged. He said he would have it done and I was very happy. A couple hours later I get a call and he explains that there is a leak in the power steering hose and that the battery was bad so it had to be replaced. I asked that he call my dad since I have no idea what I am doing with cars. He was very polite and took my dad's number. Later I get a call that the car was finished so I went down to pick it up and paid. While i was paying he mentioned that my father didn't want to change the leaking hose and that if we wanted to come back he could do it. He showed me a picture of the hose and the estimate for the repair which would be well over 100 dollars. I took the estimate and my receipt and left. I drove about 30 miles outside of the city and back and by the time i got back my steering starting to make all these weird noises and at a certain point I could barely steer at all. I was so thankful that I was parking at this time because had I been on the highway or busy street I surely would have caused an accident since it took extreme force to turn the steering wheel. I called my dad and he came down to look at it. He popped the hood of the car and there was oil splattered everywhere. He refilled the oil tank for the power steering and when I turned the car on again and turned the wheel even slightly oil shoots out of a small pin point hole right at the bend in the hose. He also said that he was never really properly told about the leaking hose. The firestone should have never let me drive off of the lot with a hole like that in the hose and I am so confused as to how this was never once a problem for me before but the second they mention i have a hole there, I am almost in a car accident about 2 hours later. I am so dissatisfied with my service and I feel taken advantage of because I am a young girl. They did not have my safety in mind and I am still extremely confused as to how the second they noticed the hole, it became a big problem, but when my battery was fixed there about a month and a half ago it wasn't mentioned. read more

Beware of this place - Stopped in for tires and figured why they already had my truck I would let them do the inspection. The technician/ customer service guy tells me the car has failed inspection because I need new tie rods and a whole new rack and pinion installed, estimate for repair was over $2000. He told me the rack was leaking fluid pretty bad and this was a major safety issue. I have had my truck for 8 years and keep up on the maintenance so this did not sound right to me. I immediately took my truck to a well known neighborhood mechanic for a second opinion. He fixed the rack and pinion by tightening a few bolts and advised me that there was not a leak from the rack and my tie rods were in good condition. read more

Convenient location for me (you can leave your car there overnight in the lot, or they will leave it there until you're free which is nice) Staff is very friendly and tries to work with you. Being a stereotypical - clueless about cars- girl, they never took advantage of me or made any comments and were kind and professional. Will try to give you promotions/coupons when they can. Need to ask about price matching. Always look online for coupons though! Hours are 7am-6pm. The 6pm close sucks for people who work typical jobs, but the 7am open is nice. (I mean I hate waking up to go deal with car stuff, but at least I don't have to take time off work) They always pick up their phones and no appt necessary. read more

I highly recommend the University City Firestone. Mike is the manager there and he such an honost guy who totally understand the student budget as he has a daughter in college. I went in for tire service and one of the tire pressure systems was not working well and he showed me the problem and I called our trusted mechanic at home and he was very impressed the guy was so honest and that he showed me what was wrong and only was going to charge to fix the two that were stripped as most places will act like all four need to be changed and make a ton of money. If you need anything done for your car and you work or live in center city or west philly, you can't beat the convenient and professional service you will get with Mike and his crew at the 31st and Market Firestone. read more

Bad. Incompetent. I dropped my car off for a state inspection. I gave them my insurance card, registration, everything. They called me to tell me everything was done and my car was good to go. Imagine my surprise when I discover they CHANGED MY OIL. It was already freshly changed! I spent another few hours there as they did the inspection -- and of course they found that my car needed ~$500 in repairs. And the kicker: I asked for a discount and they offered me the "Drexel" discount of 10%. The guy there then told me the total would be ~$550. When I asked him why it was $50 more with the discount, he told me it wasn't. He then showed me the invoice saying ~ $450. Yep, he couldn't even read the bill to me. If it wasn't pouring down raining and I hadn't just moved to the PA and desperately needed an inspection that Saturday afternoon, I would have stormed out. Whatever you do, don't go there. read more

I called the day they said car would be ready and they realized they hadn't received the part they needed (and they hadn't checked). They could increase their revenue by learning basic customer service and by interacting with female customers as if we are important to their bottom line.
