Had a terrific meal at Fireworks in Keene last night... Mussels appetizer was subtle and delicious... just the right size for sharing with my husband. Orchiette with pesto and fried eggplant was very tasty and my hubby loved his pasta bolognese. Had a drink special with guava juice that was quite good... Last Saturday, my boyfriend and I went to Fireworks and had a terrible experience. When we showed up the hostess had no record of our reservations that we had made earlier in the week, we had to wait over an hour after ordering to get our food, and then both of our dishes were made incorrectly. When we brought this up to our server, she shrugged and said that it was because they were understaffed due to COVID. I understand the circumstances, but was very disappointed to have paid so much money (over $50 for two entrees) and have such a bad experience. In addition to these mishaps, it seemed like the waitstaff had no idea what was going on. Many servers were literally running around and shouting in the dining room which does not create a very pleasant dining experience. Because of all of this, we will probably not return. There are better restaurants in town that have a much calmer atmosphere and better service. read more

Went here yday with my husband. Ordered calamari which was good then shared a pizza and a pasta special. My husband thought the food was delicious but I thought it was a bit on the salty side. Overall, we had a decent meal until the dessert. We ordered the tiramisu which was rotten! It was sour and super dry. When we complained, the waitress acknowledged that it was spoiled and gave us a new tiramisu. We were surprised though that they didn't even take it off our tab. The waitress was very nice but in an empty restaurant, it was difficult to get her attention on multiple occasions. I will not be returning. read more

We came here for Sunday brunch based on a recommendation from a friend and it didn't disappoint. Their specialty seemed to be eggs Benedict. I got regular and my husband for the French lumberjack and both were SO good! Friendly staff and great atmosphere- definitely recommend it!! read more

My husband and I were spending the night at the hotel next door. We had read reviews and were looking forward to a nice dinner. We had asked to sit outside there were 3 empty tables but were told it was a 20 minute wait. We asked to sit inside restaurant didn't look busy but were told it was a ten minute wait. So we asked to sit in bar area at a high top. That could be accommodated. My husband went to gentlemen's room and honestly the rudest waiter came to my table. No introduction, no hello, just want do you want to drink. I asked if there was a menu and he reluctantly gave me two and said that normally people JUST had drinks here. I did what I have never done before, I walked out. We usually tip 25% and there was no way I was giving him my money. Very Disappointed in the uninviting atmosphere. read more

Bartender Scott was amazing. Food was great, drinks were excellent. He heard us say we had been to several breweries so he suggested a beer that they had and no one else had, it was excellent not too hoppy. Tiramisu was fresh cake was moist. Definite keeper. read more

Still awesome. During the weekdays they have some great Yelp offers available that will save you a soup or salad. I don't know one local that doesn't like this place. The worst I hear is about the pricing but c'mon people. You would pay the same at ordeals for slightly larger portions and way more heartburn. Went here last year and it was not fun. Did not get to try the food as we left because the wait staff was extremely rude to us. Customers had young children there when it was pretty late at night while we were trying to enjoy ourselves. Ended up leaving and went to Margaritas across the street. Very nice atmosphere, and awesome brick oven thin crust pizza. We ordered the pumpkin pizza with gargonzola cheese, caramelized onions, on a thin crispy crust. The pizza was perfectly cooked, and the combination of the sweet onions and pumpkin chunks was delicious. They have a good selection of pizza, pasta dishes, and a small selection of other items. Pumpkin pizza is the best.. Sweet and savory! This was a special on the menu, and don't think they have this all the time. Totally worth it! read more

I am very impressed with the selection and quality of food at Fireworks. The style of food and ingredients used lend themselves to a more upscale restaurant, but the prices are very reasonable and the atmosphere is inviting and fun. Fireworks is well decorated and comfortable, it's hard not to enjoy yourself when you are there. The beverages are excellent, the "22 Main" cocktail was amazing, with grapefruit vodka, grapefruit juice, rosemary, and and a hint of chili spice. I enjoyed a Pizzete with arugula, procuitto, and a balsamic glaze. I also ordered a spinach salad, which was imppecably dressed, and the "Main Family Farms Hamburger" which was cooked to a perfect medium - exactly how I ordered it. I highly recommend Fireworks, and can't wait to return to try the other offerings on the extensive - but not overwhelming - menu. read more

I've been here a number of times and I've always enjoyed it. It's my go-to for dinner dates. Service is great, drinks are fantastic and the food is wonderful. This place is sooo expensive, and that would be fine if it were worth the money. Every time I have been (I have given this place a few chances), I've been disappointed. My take out pizza with pulled pork on it only had a piece of pulled pork on every other slice, and was not the quality it should have been for the price. Dining in on another occasion, we had looked at the menu online and it did not match the menu in the restaurant, (different pricing). We were told they were out of brussel sprouts, and so we ordered broccoli, they then came back and said they were out of that, so we got a salad. The entrees came and the broccoli came too, then the salad at the end. We were not charged for both, however we would have only ordered one, we didn't want both. The steak frites which was over $27 only came with the fries and steak, no garnish, no greens, no presentation attempt at all, and for basically $30? Come on. read more

Disappointing is hardly the word to describe this restaurant. First the good, mixed drinks are great and beer list is awesome. We've dined twice and will never go back. First time the gorgonzola salad had no gorgonzola, when we pointed this out to the server she asked if we were sure it was supposed to have cheese. It was the spinach salad and the menu said it had gorgonzola! After a discussion the waitress conceded it included cheese and brought out feta. Sadly she didn't know the difference between the cheeses. Our second time the charcuterie platter looked like it was missing about 10 dollars worth of food. Our pasta dishes had the wrong pasta. When we pointed this out, the waitress explained they were out of the usual pasta and apologized for substituting without asking our preference. They remade with our preference of pasta, but I believe they put something extra in the remake as we were ill the rest of the night. :( read more

Horrendous experience, I would rank this among the worst dining experiences of all time. First of all, the food completely sucked ,the pizza was like cardboard, took over an hour to get food. I've been to restaurants all over the states and all over the world from small towns to big cities and never was I more offended by the staff than at this place. Since they are on their shake-down cruise and only open 5-weeks at this point, yes they have some learning to do. However, when I ate there in January, two of us ate well, were served with reasonable attentiveness and the quantity and quality of the food did not disappoint. Please give them a try and let them know that you will write a positive review for YELP if they keep up the good work. That let's them know you want them to succeed and helps them to live up to your expectations. The bar area has comfortable seating in the corner, there is an elevated dining area for about 18 people in the middle that will work well for groups, the front section by the windows may feel noisy to some, the interior dining areas are mellow. read more

Waitstaff was friendly, attentive, great. Beer and wine list were good and appropriately priced. Food was average. Prices were high. Seems like Fireworks is having an identity crisis. On the surface, based on ambiance, menu, and pricing it is a semi-upscale Italian restaurant. Based on the food, it is an overpriced pretentious pizza place. Our table had four separate pizzas, including the special. All sound very creative and appetizing on the menu. In reality they were average tasting and 3/4 pizzas were over-cooked (burnt). Portion size is fine, being a personal pizza I was skeptical to order, but they are quite large for one person. However, $12-16 for a one-person pizza is pretty expensive considering the average quality and not-especially-exotic ingredients. Was also surprised that despite the fancy wood-mounted menus, interesting and cool light bulbs, water-filled empty wine bottle on the table (for ambiance I guess? wtf?), etc etc to create the feeling of a fancy joint... the salt and pepper shakers are McCormick's spice bottles with the labels still on. Come on... at $15 a plate you can't spring for real salt and pepper shakers?? Overall impression was an average meal for 1.5x the price. read more

I had an amazing meal here with my family when I was visiting my daughter at Keene State. I had the Bolognese and it was the best I've ever had. The food quality was top notch. The flame-seared large Winter Pear dripping with Gorgonzola Cheese and draped with Prosciutto Ham was a winner dipped into the thick balsamic drizzle. A hand-tossed bar pizza bubbling hot from the new brick oven made things all so much better! Tasty libations shaken with flavored vodkas, pomegranate, and old-school martinis gave everyone the happy hour they deserved. PRICES SO REASONABLE...a bar bill that was easy on the wallet. Good food, but one of the fancier places in Keene and you will pay for the atmosphere. I think for my husband and I, the bill came to about $70 with two cocktails included (no dessert), once tip and tax were added. Quality of the food is good, but I'm not convinced they make everything from scratch as I couldn't order a pasta dish without mushrooms. If you're just visiting Keene and looking for some yummy pasta and pizza, I suggest Ramunto's instead, which is more casual but still has a great (albeit simpler) menu. Just returned from Fireworks in Keene. Not the restaurant it used to be. From the Host at the door, ( not engaged at all with the guests), The noticeably young and inexperienced staff, and the mediocre food. This used to be one of our favorite places to go in Keene. No longer. Hamburgers were like hockey pucks,bland macaroni and cheese. The Portuguese spaghetti was good though.. The cooking staff seemed like they were young teens, just hanging out. I've heard good things about this restaurant and I've come here 4 times to see if my experience gets better. It hasn't. I've come for breakfast 3 times and dinner once. Dinner was ok - nothing to write about, not great, ok. Breakfast on the other hand - first one served to me cold, they re-did it. 2nd time it was ok - again not great, ok. Today breakfast came with almost none of the ingredients that were listed in the menu and I didn't get one of the things I ordered. They re-did it. Much of the bacon was undercooked. It takes a long time to get more coffee. All in all I don't recommend it. read more

Until recently, it was one of my favorite go to places with good food at a reasonable price. On my last couple of visits, though, the food quality has tapered off. I asked friends and they felt the same. In the past, I'd enjoyed their specials, which had an interesting tweek. Now some are just crazy "wrong". Salmon is supposed to be one of their specials... but was REALLY underwhelming. Orders are taking longer to get out of the kitchen. Has kitchen staff or management changed?
