The crab cakes are amazing - we had two orders of it! We also had a steak and cheese, the cheeseburger soup and the portobello burger. The service was great as well as the space and location. Plenty of parking in the lot. Definitely a must if you are in the area checking out the covered bridges. read more

Walking in we thought this place was very cute. It definitely has a rustic feel to it. We probably waited about a minute to be seated but the hostess/waitress was busy taking orders. We were given a menu as we were seated and she returned to get our drink orders quickly. The menu here isn't huge, but had a good variety. I opted for fish n chips, my mom and dad both ordered the clam strips, my uncle had pot pie, and my aunt had the fried chicken dinner. Brussel sprouts were the vegetable of the day. I remember that only because I hate them, lol. None of us ordered the veg. Because my aunt had fried chicken she said it would take a bit longer. It wasn't a horrible wait, though, and we all really enjoyed our meals. The haddock was cooked perfectly and I love the tartar sauce there! I meant to take pictures but was to busy eating. This place is rustic. Kinda dark inside and old. We had baked seafood combos. I prefer scallops fried but they were ok. Shrimp good and haddock lacked flavor. The side dishes were ok as well. Dessert was tasty. Prices not bad. Service was very good. Would I come back? Probably not read more

Good local place. They always have fresh....yes fresh seafood. The fish and chips are delicious and the seafood platter is great too. Their pot pies are good too as well as other comfort fare. The place is usually kinda busy so you may want to call ahead. They have booths and a couple rustic tables! Outdoor seating as well. read more

We went to the Rustic Table not expecting much. It's way up in the mountains and there's really not a lot around. We didn't have a reservation and had a 2 year old with us -- but they made it work and seated us very quickly. We really enjoyed the food -- I had a deluxe chicken sandwich that was perfectly cooked, spicy bacon and their sauce -- just yummy. My partner had a meatball grinder that he really enjoyed -- they have a great marinara sauce. And our little friend had pasta with a meatball and he ate pretty much the whole thing. Add to that some cold beer and iced sweet tea -- it was great. And the servers couldn't have been nicer. I also got a to go order with a steak sandwich and a veggie southwest spicy burger -- both got rave reviews. Plus their french fries are heavenly. Enjoy! read more

I have to say that everything happens for a reason. Our usual restaurant wasn't open, so my sister & I embarked down route 10 looking for a new place to eat. Well, I'd say we found one! I'd have to say, it was the best Captain's platter that I have ever eaten, & the lemon mascarpone cake was so soft and creamy with just a light fruity drizzle over the top. The only thing better than the food was the service. They were so nice, friendly, & professional. We will definitely be going back & bringing our friends with us! We frequent this restaurant quite a bit. Yet to have a bad meal. They have a great Rum Bucket drink that is their signature and most delicious. The chef/cook always cooks to perfection. The waitstaff is busy but they always make time for you. Prices are very reasonable as well. Call ahead or you might have to wait a bit and don't forget to order the mud pie for dessert! read more

Yummmm!!! We were referred to this cute country restaurant by the owner of the Inn we were staying at. They had great live music and the server was right on top of it! I ordered the Chicken Orvieto. It was cooked perfectly with artichokes and kalamata olives in a beautiful white wine butter sauce over delish mashed potato's. Really surprisingly delish! Hubs ordered parm garlic wings. This was our 1st visit to the Rustic Table. We did not have a reservation and the restaurant was packed. We were encouraged to stay and they found us seats at the bar. The food was fantastic and the staff was excellent. We will be returning for sure.. I do suggest you make a reservation. read more

We took my son there today around noon for his birthday. We had the fishermans platter, and my wife had the whole belly clams, and added haddock. The food was phenominal! The waitress had a room full of people, and she was absolutely on point, we never waited for anything. She had a great demeanor. I thought I'd leave a review when I didn't see any since the pandemic hit.. We called in our order and picked it up, employees had masks on! Theh also had some seating outside. My husband got the fried chicken & we were both blown away by the proportions. Definitely get your money's worth we will have leftovers for tomorrow.. We got to the Rustic Table Saturday night, It was very busy and we were short on time (our bad) The waitress Jeanine (I think) was amazing. She was running around the dining room getting things done. She and a super nice man, maybe owner, were incredibly accommodating and got our food out fast. Thank you to them. We had prime rib, clam strips and the fish sandwich. All were superb! First time diners last night and The Rustic Table did not disappoint. Twinkling outdoor lights all around are very inviting. There is outdoor seating but closed for the season. Inside is charming, tidy and clean. There is a full bar where they welcome you upon entering. Our dinners were delicious. I had baked scallops that were tender and flavorful. My husband had the stuffed chicken which he said was moist and very tasty. Our daughter scarfed down the amazing stuffed mushrooms and was too full to eat much of her Fettuccine Alfredo w/shrimp but what she did eat (and I had some too) was again, delicious. My husband and daughter love chocolate so they ordered the chocolate cake and ate it at home. Again - loved it. This is my weirdness but I think it's important - the bathroom was very nice and clean. Not tired and forgotten. Altogether - we will be making The Rustic Table a regular stop. read more

Came here for lunch while passing through the area. I got the Asian chicken salad and spouse got the fish sandwich and a side of beets. Their chicken veggie soup was great, as was the rest of the food! We felt welcomed and well-attended-to. The atmosphere was inviting but a little on the dark side for a sunny afternoon. Friendly service, clean establishment, and plenty of parking in their lot. Good place to go! read more

Best onion rings in New England, the sauce was amazing. I got the meatball sub and it was delicious but very filling. Wife got the mango chicken sandwich and she loved it. Cajun fires were great as well. Good Scotch menu too which is rare. read more

When we went it it was mid afternoon. We were sat and then two tables after us were sat. The two tables after us were waited on and served while we still sat waiting. Apparently our waitress hadn't even arrived to work yet, she was running late, yet they sat us in her station anyway. Not impressed. The food wasn't bad, a bit in the pricey side but tasted good. Deceptively welcoming My brother and I ate here as a stopping point while hiking the rail trail between Swanzey and Winchester. We were hungry hikers with money to spend in need of a relaxing, nourishing lunch. Simple process, right? We could not have been more mistaken, things got really weird, really fast. Things started off normally enough, the hostess was polite and got us seated. That was the end of normal, now for the weird part. My brother needed to use their restroom, after 3-4 minutes inside an older woman bursts out of the kitchen area, pounds on the restroom door and demands to know if anyone is in there and what they are doing. Perhaps they have had problems with drug addicts shooting up in their bathrooms. Regardless, the behavior of this member of staff was unwarranted and unprofessional. Back at the table, I am sitting with my back to the bar and can hear this same enraged woman and some of the kitchen staff talking about "the guys with the backpacks" and "I'm not so sure about them". They were also discussing the length of time my brother was in the bathroom, 3-4 minutes. At this point we have been in the building for only 5 minutes. My brother rejoined me at the table and proceeded to receive an aggressive staring down by the aforementioned enraged woman. Against our better judgement, we decided to stay and eat. Let's chalk that poor decision up to the seven mile hike to get there, and our ravenous hunger. Food was great, I enjoyed a delicious BBQ chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries washed down with a cool Angry Orchard and my brother had an equally appetizing, albeit overpriced, chicken pot pie washed down with the same refreshing hops. High marks for the food. As for the weirdness, on a scale of one to ten, it's not good. Will never be returning to or recommending this establishment. We will also spread the word about this unprofessional profiling and poor treatment of customers. read more

So a friend and I where going to a local distillery on the way we passed this little gem. On our way back we stopped, to give it a try!!! What an amazing place. So laid back, in a good way. Food was definitely fresh and House made. Had house made cup of Manhattan clam chowder was excellent. Fresh clam strip, fries, and slaw. My buddy had house made meatball sub, off the hook. We arrived around 5 pm and it was busy. We didn't have a reservation but they found us a small table by the door. We were served promptly and the food was delicious! Customer service is great and despite being very busy we were given the attention needed for refills on soft drinks and water. Seafood is fresh and onion rings were great! We stopped in for lunch after discovering all of the covered bridges surrounding the Keene (NH)/Brattleboro (VT) area. We could never have been more pleased! The place was extremely busy, yet the server was extremely attentive and friendly! Surprisingly enough, the food was delicious and full of flavor. I will say the food is excellent!! I've been eating there on a regular basis. On one of my reviews on the Rustic table I mentioned the food and drinks are pricey. Today after I was finished eating breakfast the owners mommy approached me and was questioning me on my review "complaining ". Definitely not good business. They just lost me as a customer. read more

Usually do take out but have dined in as well. Great food although a limited menu. My favorite is the ravioli with mushrooms and short ribs. Also enjoy the Marsala and parmigiana dishes. Friendly staff, plenty of parking and outdoor seating in season. read more

Posting this for the mere fact that I was searching for a review on their red sauce due to being an Italian food snob and couldn't find one. Tired it anyways... Portion was large and flavor was decent but I'm not a huge fan of how chunky the sauce was. Also the meatballs were clearly sausage and not ground beef which was also disappointing. 1 glass of wine filled 1/4 of the way was $7... my 2 glasses of wine was more than my dinner. read more

Stopped in by chance. What a good idea! Crystal greeted us so warmly making us feel at home right away. It's a family run restaurant and the owner has clearly put her heart and soul into making it a place you want to come back to. We were here for lunch so we only ordered sandwiches. I had the veggie burger and my husband had the steak and cheese sandwich. Everything is homemade-my veggie burger came with a yummy avocado dressing and chips. I scarfed it down too fast to take a picture but it was nicely presented which always makes a dining experience more enjoyable. I really respect a place where care is taken beyond just the food to boost the overall pleasure of eating out (which I love!). The dining area is immaculate and coffee is served in a carafe so one doesn't have to repeatedly ask for refills-a very nice touch. I like this restaurant. First we have to talk about their punch buckets! Go ahead and get a bucket! The cherries are soaked in some delicious alcohol too! We have tried the Philly sandwich with onions peppers and mushrooms.. it is my all time favorite sandwich I have ever had! Delicious! Their seafood is amazing as well. My daughter ordered a lemonade, which came in a cute branded bottle. It was very good, not too tart or sweet. After dinner, we each ordered dessert: Choco cake which has a cute little mouse on top, the orange revani which was extremely sweet, and the limoncello cake which was by far the best of the three with a delicate flavor. The servings of food were generous and we were impressed with the quality, especially the chicken. We could easily cut through it with a fork. The sauces were pleasant and not acidic. For the four of our meals (with leftovers) and the tip (and the insane charges for the iced tea) we paid $197, which I felt was somewhat reasonable. Normally he salts all his food and he didn't even salt his pasta dish and he said it was delicious. For dessert we had the tiramisu which was good. Overall 5/5 Highly recommend and we will definitely make it a point to come back if we are in the area again!

I would have been okay paying $6 but not $12. Horrible start. We shared the calamari. It was flavorless with not even a touch of salt. Served with cold marinara sauce, no lemon. $16 calamari... I'd pay $8-$10 for that because I know PLENTY restaurants who have decent and thoughtfully prepared cal for the same price. We order entrees. One of my girlfriends ordered the tortellini carbonara. $26 entree. Served literally COLD, not even room temp. the sauce was minimal, it looked like a naked dish of multi-colored raviolis I used to eat growing up as a child... so yeah it looked like grocery store food with nothing added to it. She sent it back, but denied the option of ordering another meal... we had learned our lesson by now. My entree was one of the special chicken dishes. I think the most "popular" one, it was an herbed chicken or something with risotto I believe. Such an unforgettable and distasteful meal that I genuinely forget what it was. Entire dining experience was a waste of time, money, and calories lol. Our waiter was kind to give us complimentary cannolis to try and save the day :)

This year, for the first time, we tried Blue Moose Bistro and found it to be wonderful! We started by sharing a special, a marvelous farro salad with spinach and chèvre. This was really delicious. I was tired and chose not to drink but tasted my husband's glass of montepulciano; it was a lovely red. Then my husband ordered the salmon and I had the pappardelle special. He loved his fish, served with vegetables. I asked our friendly cheerful waitress which she'd recommend; I was trying to decide between the pappardelle and the cacio e pepe. She thought for a bit and then suggested the pappardelle because it was extremely hot weather and she thought the lemony accent would be refreshing. I went with her choice and I have to say it was amazing! Very very good, and the lemon was indeed a bright note. We had plenty of time before heading to a concert, so we shared a tiramisu for dessert. Can't go wrong with tiramisu. A gentleman who was dining solo chatted with us. He lives in Brattleboro and told us that he makes a point of eating at this restaurant at least once a month. He and the chef were on a first name basis, Tom and Ken are the names I think I heard. Nice when locals eat at a place; I guess it keeps the good places in business out of season. We'll have to eat at Blue Moose again when we go back next year, and we definitely recommend it to you!
