Came in June 5 in the afternoon to get tattooed with my partner who is excited because we saw that it had very good reviews. I showed a photo of the tattoo that I wanted and the tattoo artist said yes he will be able to do it. As you can see the photo that I sent him and the tattoo that he did on my forearm does not even look the same anybody can see that. I scheduled an appt for my sons birthday. I asked many times for a price, prior and the day of. He finishes the tattoo and says it's $740.00 Luckily, we had 20% off that had been sent to each of our emails which is what brought us back. The tattoo is amazing however we would've have walked on any price over $450. Last year, diff location, same size tattoo was $350. We had appts at 11 and he didn't even start until 12;30. The store def was shady in several aspects from scheduling to completion. We will never go back to that location. read more

Firme Copias is an absolute A+ shop. I personally selected them after doing extensive research into online reviews and swiping through Instagram photos of completed tattoos. They have the most well rounded balance of incredible artists versus some other shops that have 1 or 2 great artists with a wait list backed up a few months, while the rest are subpar. Here at Firme Copias, you can confidently work with any artist because they all have impressive portfolios. My boyfriend & I booked a consultation appointment with Angela to discuss our ideas and get some info and she was great. She took her time to listen to what we wanted, explain the hours it would take, prices, etc and by the end my boyfriend had an appointment with Chuy and left a deposit for a half sleeve. I was only looking to get a small quote tattooed and to my surprise, they were able to get me in within an hour with a phenomenal artist, Tim. He was patient while I finalized my font selection & printed out a few sizes so I can dial in exactly how I wanted the tattoo. Overall, it was quick, painless, and the final product is incredibly clean. He has a light hand, crisp lines, and I couldn't be happier. Found Firme Copias Tattoo Studio searching Google for the best place in San Antonio w/ 4+ rating average. Called and spoke with Mike Cantu who was articulate, professional, and personable; we found an appointment date that was accommodating to my schedule and his. My first time to the Studio, I was welcomed by at least four different artists who ensured I was being assisted by someone. The environment was sterile (including the bathroom; always a give away to how clean a place really is) and comfortable. Each of the artists work stations were organized and very clean; trash cans not overflowing with trash on the floor and no Bio Hazard items laid about or containers overfilled. I waited for a bit after my scheduled appointment time however, Mike did come and speak with me a couple of times and apologized for the delay. My response to him was "Not to worry. It gives me confidence in his attention to detail and focus on ensuring perfection with the tattoo he was working for his current client." I have seen over the years people who received tattoo's that were rushed (under the assumption that their artists worked by time not the standard) that did not come out well. On my first visit with Mr. Cantu, he sat down with me and discussed what I was looking for and what my overall goal was. He made several recommendations on placement and suggested some changes to the pieces I wanted (that I had found online) that would be more personal to me and undoubtedly original in nature. I found this of great significance and felt comfortable and trusting in his method. In my own opinion, originality is key when applying something to your body that tells a story about your life and end state that you will carry for the rest of your life. Since that first visit, I have been back for at least four or five more sittings with Mike for new work as well as refreshing some older ones I have (of which look exactly like they did years ago when I first got them). Each of my visits have produced great results and tattoos that I am proud to have. I am looking forward to the remainder of my sit downs and am glad I have had the privilege of getting Inked by a great Artists. I came to Firme Copias studio to have an old tattoo redone. I hope people will read my whole review and really pick their artists carefully. A female artist named Sierra was the artist working on my new tattoo. I had an old tattoo of an ankle bracelet that was pretty thin and I thought it would be pretty easy to have it made into a vine with cherry blossoms. The artist apparently couldn't do it freehand even though the basic outline was there from the old tattoo and she wanted some kind of template to put on my ankle. The template morphed into something much bigger than what I had wanted. Throughout my appointment the artist seemed to be very distracted. She received a personal phone call and instead of it going to her voicemail, she held the phone up under her chin talking about a guy with the person that had called her. What the hell was going on?!!! Getting up at least four times to go to the bathroom, to go find something for someone at the front desk, and look for various inks since she did not have a chair of her own in the studio. Even asked me if I wanted to stop and eat (I was only there for just 2-2 1/2 hours at this point) I said no just wanting to get my tattoo finished up. She said she wanted to let it "bleed" a little and left for the breakroom. Everytime she came back to the chair it was like she didn't know where she had left off-so many places were drawn over and inked over again and again. I have areas that have blown lines, areas that are colored outside of the outlines, areas that aren't even outlined and areas that are double outlined!! Shading and blending colors together was an issue for her too. So after approx 3 hours my tattoo STILL wasn't completed and she wanted me to come back to finish it. I have five other tattoos and I have never come across this kind of inept artist, she almost seemed like this was one of her first tattoos she had done. I have never experienced anything like this ever before and it was the most painful tattoo I have ever received. I developed a bad infection, had to have 2 doctor visits and was on antibiotics for 3 weeks after excruciating pain and extreme deep scabbing. I called the studio manager to complain, he wanted to make it right and bring me into the studio to have someone else fix it and finish it at no cost to me. I declined to take him up on his offer since I had lost faith with them. So now after all the pain I've gone through I still have to go back and find another tattoo studio and artist willing to fix the botched tattoo done by Sierra at Firme Copias. The owners mike Chagolla and sylo were awesome at communication and very professional when discussing my needs regarding the tattoos I got done. Darren was my piercer when I came here. My friends and I were referred by a coworker and we went in thinking the best. A few weeks later we all discover this was a very big mistake. Darren gave one girl an industrial at a bad angle and it refused to heal because she had the wrong anatomy for the industrial. He also pierced a snug and put in a short straight barbell that caused severe irritation and she contacted him multiple times worrying about the inflammation and he dismissed it. My rook was severely irritated from the length of my barbell as well. He also pierced a daith and tragus both installing jewelry that was far too long causing the barbells to collide. I asked him to change my jewelry and he asked for an extra fee even after his awful service. We then all turned to Buddha box studios for help where we learned about the improper angle of the industrial and the improper jewelry in the snug. I had such high hopes for this shop and I'm sure the entire shop is not bad but I wonder how Darren even has a job. Did I mention he told a whole joke about a bad customer farting while a needle was still in my ear? He requested $100 down payment and a week to prepare a tattoo and he now will not respond to texts or phone calls despite having my down payment. Do not go here.
