I visited Electric Panther because I was following their artist Lydia from a previous tattoo shop. I have nothing but praise to offer both to Lydia and Electric Panther! First, I have two pieces from Lydia now and while she typically does a lot more intricate work, she never bats an eye to fit me in for a quick and simple design. Both of my experiences with her have been so quick and painless, I cannot recommend her enough. As for the shop, it is a tiny little place that shows up big with wall to wall decoration and funny little assortment of books to read while you wait. During my time there, I observed what was a very obvious camaraderie among the staff. I have been tattooed here on fifteen separate occasions by at least two different tattooers. This shop should be more than just regionally famous. You should take a trip to get tattooed here. This is the real stuff, the good stuff, by very nice people. Bold, clean, traditional tattoos (but they can do it all) chill atmosphere, very friendly, very interesting, great conversation, and always a great time. They have given me a book, T-shirts, stickers, beef jerky, 15 tattoos, potato chips, a safe place to sweat in pain and more! Got my first and only tattoo there a couple months ago, and I LOVE it! I was incredibly nervous because I am terrified of needles, but I didn't feel rushed at all. Also, I went in with a vague idea of what I wanted, and I wish I could remember the artist's name, but he explained why a slightly larger one would make more sense and age better. I am really glad he had that conversation with me and didn't just say yes the moment I said what I wanted. I have gotten so many compliments now on how crisp and clear the font is, and I know that if I would've gotten it the way I originally planned, it wouldn't be that way and definitely wouldn't have aged that way down the road. I think her name was Jackie she did all three of ours it was my first one and she was very patient with me. I loved my experience here. I had something embarrassing I needed covered, Alex never made me feel uncomfortable about it. I put down a deposit online after requesting an appointment on Yelp. When I came in, he traced my hand and tattoo, & said give me a couple minutes to draw this out. He asked what kind of colors I like. He asked what orientation I'd like the flower to be. He asked as many questions as possible, which I really thought was kind. I went to the ATM while he drew, it's cash only. (If you have wells Fargo there's a drive - up ATM half a block away) I came back, he was still drawing so I looked around at the artwork. It's very American, colorful and bold. I loved it. When he was ready, we got started. He was talkative and nice. He took a couple of breaks in between which was nice because it was very painful. A cover up tattoo will always hurt more. Plus, it's my hand. Solid 10 on the pain scale. Altogether it took about 1.5 hours. The color is totally more than I ever imagined. I can't imagine a life without art, and color. He brought that to life on my hand! When he was done, I was so happy. He made sure to stick to my budget, he has to be the nicest tattoo artist I've ever had the pleasure of meeting.
