While I take responsibility for not questioning it at the time, I felt pressured to go with that amount since it was presented as the minimum. During my conversation with the barber while he was cutting my hair, he asked where I was from, and I mentioned California. I'm not sure if tipping rates for haircuts are generally higher in Arizona or if this was influenced by me being from out of state I reached out via message here on yelp for clarification but never received a response. Because of this tipping setup and lack of communication, I'm deducting two stars--otherwise, it would have been a perfect five-star experience.

This woman gave me an undercut that went WAY too far up. I asked her to stop, asked what's the size she used, showing her the mistake that I wanted it tapered. Don't get me wrong the shop itself is nice, but if the barber is new and nervous, they should let clients know. Not that they need my business with their prices but I won't be driving all the way from Awahtukee for this service for this service like I have been.
