Fantastic old school barber shop off Camelback in Scottsdale. Men's haircuts, beard trim or shaving plus complementary hot towel and back rub make this place fantastic. I showed up on a Sunday afternoon and was pleasantly surprised to find out there was no line. Haircut was great, conversation too! Cannot have one without the other in the barber shop! I've been here 3 times since I have moved to Scottsdale and haven't had a single good haircut, each with a different person. The first 2 times I visited the haircuts were fine, nothing to write home about, and nothing especially bad, so I figured I would try again with yet another different barber at the same location. This time around was truly awful and I am stuck in a hat for the foreseeable future. It was a simple request, 3 on the sides, inch and a half off the top, and a hard part. What I got was a 3 on the sides, inch and a half off the top, and a bonus of an appearance of a receding hairline on only one side. I have never had to request to a barber to not shave back my hairline, but I will make sure to do it each and every time from now on. My head is completely lopsided and there is nothing to do but to wait for it to grow back to fix in my next haircut. I did mention it to the barber, but as it was already shaved off and I didn't want to shave my head, he shrugged it off and I left. I will never return, and advise the same of anyone who wants a 'fine' haircut. The risk isn't worth it. read more

Went to this place because I needed a cut before a wedding and didn't have time for my usual guy. I asked for a 4 on the top and 1 on the sides, fade from the 1 to the 4 meeting at the crest of my head. To say the least, I just got the worst fade in the world. It's actually not even a fade, she went straight from 1 to the 4, no fade, no attempt, just one straight swoop. As soon as she did the first side I tried to stop her and tell her I wanted a fade and she wasn't fading. She argued that She wasn't finished and since I was in the seat with most my hair gone, I might as well let her finish because there was no saving it. Moral of the story, wait for your go to barber or don't get a haircut. You'll always be disappointed with the results. read more

Some people have no problem going to any random barber, cutting simply-stated styles without any connection with the client. Get 'em in-n-out to maximize profits.
