I can see why this place has 5 stars! So let me share our 5 star experience: I took my 5 year old son for a hair cut (to a pretty typical hair cut place) two days before picture day at school... what a mistake that was. ‍ The girl HACKED his hair up. It was BAD. That left me scrambling to find somewhere to fix it. I decided it would probably be best to take him to an actual barber who specializes in his type of hair cut. That's where The Dapper Devil and James comes in. I made an appointment for 5pm (now the day before picture day). Well... when we got there, my son was tired and generally overwhelmed by walking into a new place that looked different from the type of places he's used to going. He just melted down. I tried everything to talk him down and get him to come around to the idea. James was amazing, trying to get him excited but it just wasn't in the cards for us last night. James asked when I drop him off at school and offered to come in at 7am, THREE HOURS before they open to get my sons hair fixed up. We didn't need to be there till a bit later so 8am was totally doable for us and he insisted we come at 8am. Fast forward to the next morning (today). We got there at 8am and James was ready for us. My son was in a much better place and was happy to be there, but still a bit nervous. James was SO patient, kind, and even a little silly to get my son comfortable. He showed my son everything he was going to do, let him pick the comb color, the water bottle, etc to allow my son to feel like he was a part of the experience. James gave me some pomade and explained to me how to use it best to get my sons double cowlicks to sit down properly. And then.... He REFUSED to let me pay him for the hair cut OR the pomade. I practically begged to let me pay and he refused. He said he was happy to get my sons hair fixed up and give him a positive experience so he's excited to come back. Hair cuts have always been a touchy thing for my son, so thank you so much James and ALL the barbers there on Thursday evening who tried to help my son through the nerves. We will ABSOLUTELY be back for every haircut! read more

His front is maybe an 1" long now, straight across his broad forehead he wanted to hide. It's like the worst bang cut nightmare someone could imagine and he shouldn't have freaking bangs!!!! I was in need of a haircut and out of town. I don't really have a hard haircut to do, but I've obviously had some bad experiences before so, I'm always a little hesitant to try out any new barber. So, with that in mind I pulled up to Dapper Devil and just sat down for the first available chair that opened up, both of the barbers working already had customers so I sat there a took a look around. The place definitely had that 'old school flavor, new school style' vibe going, it made me feel like I would be taken care of. Genevieve finished up first and the gentleman she had was also just passing through. I enjoyed the cut she gave him so I asked him for the same thing and I asked her what it was so that I knew exactly what to say when I went back. I also asked her about my cowlick continually sticking up and she recommended I grow it out as opposed to cutting it, advice I followed and subsequently tell now. She also made me feel really at ease, and it was really easy to talk to her not just about hair but in general and even pointed out a couple of nearby restaurants when I mentioned I was hungry and looking for places to eat after my haircut was finished. She joked that I could either fly out to get a haircut or fly her out to me every few weeks. The compliments I got on it seriously made me consider both as legitimate options. read more

Max, Max, Max Havoc... Say Max again and he might be in your bathroom styling your hair (if you're lucky) . This guy always makes sure I get my cut in. Walk-in or scheduled, Max figures it out. And it was the best choice! My Barber was a guy named Devon who was very easy going and knowledgeable! Aside from the classic style barbershop Environment everything in that shop was cool! Devon did a great job at my fade! Then went right in to lining me up with a straight razor. I left feeling like a million bucks!! Best. Damn. Barbershop. I met James at a rodeo about 6 months ago and I ended up coming in for a cut a month or so later. I was greeted with a PBR and a shot of bourbon, then given likely the best haircut of my life. I have been to a lot of barbers and stylists, been a hair model and had a mop top, but I won't go anywhere else again unless I move away or die. My 5 year old son gets his hair cut here, too and he's never been more proud of how he looks when he leaves the house!
