Dr. Cosby is first and foremost a teacher. A very good and knowledgable teacher. He really does try to give understanding of what is in the Bible. Not his own interpretations but the word "For the Bible says" (he says that a lot) "Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves." Matthew 7:15 NIV Those of you that appreciate studying the word will love Service as well as Bible study (wednesday). The several wonderful choirs (Hanq is the minister of music), programs for youth, elderly, families, singles, young adults etc. if you can't make it watch online, download podcasts, buy tapes at the bookstore. There are so many ways to get yourself secured in the word of God. There are many things to help you not only in your spiritual journey but also the realities of life. I have taken theology in school for many years and this church just helps to increase my understanding. That's what people of faith should strive for...not to know all that is divine but to have knowledge of what is true about God and what is corruption of the Word. Know Him for yourself not what someone else has told you to be the truth. This church offers that guidance to get you there.

This is where Jesus is lifted up always. Even though the church has a large membership and growing, there are 4 services, so the effort has been made for all to attend. There is bible study, many programs to help with everyday life. The ushers and greeters are friendly. I would recommend this church if you want to grow in the knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. AND, if you want to learn the bible,, the truth of God's word. I pray the Lord continues to bless this wonderful body of Christians, led by William Lawson, Pastor emeritus and Dr. Cosby, the Pastor of Wheeler Avenue Baptist Church. Pastor Cosby and others have strived to make this a warm and friendly church environment and a great help to the community, also.

We all agree that it just felt right when we found St. T. We did not know a single soul when came here but now have many close friends. It is a hidden gem, but worth looking for. Super location at the edge of Memorial Park. It is not unusual to see runners and golfers pop in for mass. Very diverse: students, singles, couples, young families, seniors; all kinds, all walks. All are truly welcome here. Each Sunday obligation mass has a different "flavor", so try another if you aren't feeling the right fit. Also, our pastor Fr. Phil is awesome. Check us out. You will not be just another name on the parish roll. Join a club, a ministry or a class and you will meet lots of really genuinely nice people. I really encourage runners to come by. My dream is to have a runners' mass maybe once a month, I think that would be really cool! P.S. I give 5 Stars because I love this church, but I know it is not perfect. We are working on some physical changes right now that will make St. Theresa's 5 Stars plus! * There is also an excellent PreK3 - 8th Grade School here. I will write about that in another review.

They are still owned by the same people it seems. Back then there was already a high teacher turnover rate and my experiences here ultimately pushed me away from religion altogether. I endured relentless bullying after 5th grade including from staff's children and older students, while teachers looked the other way. I also dealt with derogatory name-calling and shaming from both peers and staff. In 7th grade I was pressured into signing a contract without my parents' knowledge after administrators decided I wasn't "the kind" they wanted at their school. What triggered the contract in the first place was my MySpace at the time. I had a tank top on in my profile picture that supposedly accentuated my chest mind you I was 12. Eventually I was expelled, for something as small as kissing a boy on the cheek, while far more serious behavior from other students were overlooked. Looking back, I wish my parents had never paid tuition here. I found more peace, acceptance, and quality education in Katy ISD public schools than I ever did at this private school. Save your money, and if you are set on private school, try anywhere but here. They don't advocate or empathize with their students. You either fit their mold or you're an outcast.

The experience varies tremendously based on each teacher for elementary but we've been very fortunate with excellent teachers. The math program is very good. Students are given the opportunity to skip grades it capable. Class sizes are very small (often 10 or less per grade) and kids receive plenty of individual attention. However, like any school, parent involvement is still important. The facilities could use upgrades and the restrooms would benefit from being kept cleaner.

I attended the 9:30 am service and 11am bible study so this is what I've observed and experienced at those specific times. You might have a different experience from what I had at depending on the time you go! For starters, the worship building was beautiful! Walking around this campus was super overwhelming though. I got lost trying to find my friend here because it's HUGE. I got here about 10 minutes before the service started but did not have trouble finding a good seat. Worship was about an hour long; 15 minutes of singing and about 45 min of preaching. I really liked Ben Young's style of teaching; I truly felt like I was being taught rather than the propensity preaching that most megachurches present. Their bible study sessions was also great; I could be there all day listening to the lady teach. I really regret not bringing my bible and taking notes. Although this was a great church to attend, I personally don't think it is the right fit for me. Cons: Mega-Church Lack of young people Lack of diversity (in my opinion) Pros: Multiple worship/bible study times Lots of organizations/groups to be apart of Beautiful campus

At the time we had a 3-year old attending another Montessori program nearby, but the focus on Montessori instruction did not seem as strong. We transferred her to St. Stephen's school, and she started her first year of the three year primary program - and we've been with the school for the seven years since. We enrolled our second child when she was 18 months. The two things that drew us to the school, and have kept us here, are the commitment to academics and the safe social space created by the teachers and faculty. Academically, both our girls started grasping reading independently within their kindergarten year, with our older child being able to read at a high-school level by third grade (as confirmed by the school's annual IOWA standardized testing). Because of the Montessori format, each student can progress at their own pace, allowing students to rise higher in subjects they excel in, while still receiving additional instruction in subjects they have not yet mastered. The student to teacher ratio, allows the students to have one-on-one conversations with the teachers about their work. Early on, we were told by one of the Middle School Parents the best thing about the school was the lack of bullying, even through the middle school years. They noted that since the program is so small, that everyone found a common ground to get along. We have noticed this too through our children's advancement through the primary, lower elementary, and upper elementary levels. The classes are a size that no one is left out. The teachers encourage the students to allow themselves grace each day when completing assignments and reaching goals, and the kids are encouraged to follow the platinum rule (treat others how THEY want to be treated). Finally, we've loved knowing that our kids are in an environment where they are looked after. We know all the teachers by name, and regardless of what level they teach they know and recognize our kids, and know them by name. This reassures us that our children are in a safe space where they can focus on learning and making friends.

We love this school and its teachers and staff. The school definitely emphasizes its Catholic identity, which is the primary reason why I would even consider sending my kids to a Catholic school. There are several award-winning teachers here and it shows. Quality education, family-like environment and the tuition is extremely reasonable for a private school. While they may not have the fanciest things and facilities, when I see my child's development and love for going to school, I feel reassured that I've made the right decision by sending him here. I've gotten involved with the parent community, which at first was a bit daunting but it's been a great experience getting to know them and I look forward to journeying together with them as our children all grow up here.

However, I do have to say under this new principal the school has become very business driven and has lost the old Catholic school culture. She lacks leadership and has developed an atmosphere of turning the other way when issues evolve. She's very transparent of the families and student selections that have more facilitation to support economically. The bullying situation in the school is atrocious. They have nothing set in place to have any control over the situation and only have a part-time counselor so if it's her day off and there's an issue to be addressed, good luck. Again to be fair there is a handful of good hearted teachers that work hard and care about the students but the leadership. I feel well little by little deteriorate, the quality of the school. Just speaking from the heart and God willing things will change for future generations once this leadership team is no longer there.
