I have been to Bramalea City Centre (BCC) twice within a week. This mall is growing on me. I came here twice for Glam Bar Bazaar that does permanent jewellery. I first discovered it when I was in Winnipeg a couple of summers ago. I was pleased to get an evil eye bracelet recently, but had to return because this permanent bracelet fell off my wrist and required re-attaching. I do like this mall because it has shops and eateries that I love: - Gap Factory Store - Jollibee - Uniqlo - Pickle Barrel - CoCo Fresh Tea and Juice I don't frequent malls regularly. I am more an outlet shopper. What's cool about BCC is that it has a Gap Factory Store. I visited it twice. I scored decent deals, including a Minnie Mouse tote that was 60% off. I also got a comfy pair of pants that were 30% off. I love Jollibee. I've only ordered the pineapple quencher and peach mango pie at this eatery by mall entrance 1. It's because I have dined here twice and stopped by Jollibee before driving home. My first dining experience at this mall was at California Thai at the north food court. There's a McDonald's next door. California Thai has a lot of chicken options. Portions are generous. My combo was yummy. There's also a CoCo bubble tea place at the north food court. It was low on strawberries and other ingredients when I was there. The south food court is larger. It has Edo Japan, Burger King, Shanghai 360, and more. I look forward to eating here one of these days. I did use the washroom that was at the south food court. A downside to this mall is that there aren't a whole lot of public washrooms that are advertised and it's a fairly large mall. The women's washroom at this food court was clean. The north food court doesn't have washrooms. However, Gap Factory Store has washrooms by the change rooms and is your closest washroom. I recently ate at Pickle Barrel. It was huge and a nice change of pace. I was here for happy hour. Take advantage of the various happy hour deals. You do save a bit. The food and drinks were yummy. Both times, I parked by mall entrance 1. I was here after work and didn't have any issues finding parking. It was great. I do find the touch-screen mall directory to be confusing. I used the directory online to figure out where to go instead. It would be helpful if you got a marker that said that you're here on this directory for new mall visitors like me. I like this mall. It's been many years since we've been in the Promenade, and it probably wouldn't be a surprise that we barely recognized it as a lot has changed. We stopped by in the early afternoon on a Friday. My sister and I met my cousin at Tim Hortons in the food court. While my cousin and I both enjoyed a beverage and a donut at Tim Hortons, my sister instead opted for Yogenfruz. My sister later had lunch at Sushi-Q while I chose Feta & Olives. We were surprised a number of the food vendors were closed on a weekday afternoon. We then stopped in Roots, Dollarama, and Olive Branch. There were certainly a variety of different vendors, and it was fun to learn there was now a pickleball place in the Promenade. The Promenade has a Guest Services team that staff the counter located at the Bathurst Street Main Entrance. The mall also offers free Wi-Fi, complimentary wheel chairs, access to SmarteCarte Self-Serve strollers, and family parking options at each of their main entrances with parking options for expectant mothers and parents with young children. The hours at the mall are Monday through Friday from 10 AM to 8 PM and Saturday through Sunday from 10 AM to 6 PM. There are holiday hours published for Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day. I walked in with complete awe, like a child in a candy store. Yes, I got happy in a massive Chinese grocer. You'll see staff in every isle tending to the stocking of products. Products were abundant from all parts of Asia. Obviously USD is strong in Canada, so value is definitely on the plus side. Prices seemed reasonable. There is even a full store within a store dedicated to skin care. Unfortunately I stopped myself over buying as Toronto wasn't my last stop on this trip. Think of a mini Olive Young. I wish the United States had more massive grocers like this one.

It took being an undergraduate and spending a lot of time in the area for me to warm up to this place. I spent a lot of time at The World's Biggest Bookstore and all music stores on Yonge Street, along with some time at the arcade. They are all gone. Back then, the Atrium on Bay had an Olive Garden. So many breadsticks, and spaghetti with meatballs were consumed. Yep, that folded years after I had left living in the GTA. When I returned to reside in Markham for my second and current stint, I often had dinner at The Pickel Barrel with friends. I loved it. It's gone as well. See a pattern? Then, there was Spring Roll. Although my go-to location was across from where I worked at Yonge and Eglinton, there was one here. All Spring Roll locations have folded. It's sad that all these places that I enjoyed visiting and eating at are gone. However, I was pleased to return after a decade to the Atrium on Bay and I like what I saw. Red Lobster is there. I wanted to get some biscuits, but I had just had dinner. It smelled so good as I continued my walk. The food court is still there, but it's cheerful and vast. It wasn't busy at dinner time, but you can get your Popeyes chicken fix or hit My Sushi for your Japanese food cravings. I walked by Rexall, CIBC, and Kin Kin Bakery (seriously tough not buying stuff before going to a concert), before I got to the flagship Muji store. If you are a fan of Muji, you must visit this store to enjoy two floors of minimalistic, nondescript, functional, practical items. There are a number of vacant stores. It's not expected during this pandemic. I hope that more stores open up. There are a number of smaller businesses that I'd love to spend more time checking out. Photo Imaging Plus intrigued me. I wasn't expecting an assortment of Squishmallows there. I'll definitely be back to check them out as a fan. I hope to go back to check out the stores more thoroughly when I'm not cutting through it before attending a concert. I'd love to eat at Red Lobster. Also note the elevators here are VERY slow -- so give yourself lots of time if you're meeting friends here on upper levels. The layout reminds me a bit like Sherway Gardens, expect the walkways-concourse ("hallway") don't loop around to the center. It is pretty easy to get around and find a particular store. Some stores (like Miniso, Sunrise Records, Garage, maybe the Walmart) at Erin Mills are larger compared the same ones at Square One. Also, stores and restaurants not attached to the main building are easy to get to (ex. Indigo, One Plant, IHOP, Dollarama, Pizza Pizza, etc).

I like the fact that the original name, Pickering Town Centre, is still alive and thriving on Yelp. The mall changed its name to The Shops at Pickering City Centre. I remember disliking the longer name. I don't call it that. Neither do the locals. It's like Rogers Centre. It's still SkyDome to me. Markham doesn't have a Farm Boy. The Farm Boy at this mall was my closest location until the Sobeys on Laird recently got converted to a Farm Boy. This location is my second-closest one. It's decent, especially the custard tarts and the hot foods. I have been to this mall several times recently. I've been to both Pickle Barrel and Moxie's for a late lunch on two consecutive Saturdays. The former has brunch and happy hour specials on weekends. Moxie's has brunch twice a day, every day. I enjoyed everything that I ate and drank at these two eateries. This past Saturday, I visited the Cineplex that's a part of the mall, but I didn't see that you could enter the mall through it. It has two VIP theatres. It's lovely. Staff were amazing, the food was yummy, and I loved my VIP experience. The downside is that parking was challenging to find an available parking space. It's funny that I haven't explored what the mall part looks like these days. I guess old habits are difficult to break. Growing up, my parents and I would come to the Pickering Flea Market. At one point, it occupied the back parking lot of this mall, facing highway 401. This flea market moved locations over the years, but eventually ceased operations during the pandemic. It was in operation for over forty years. I need to hit the food court. It has Edo Japan and Bourbon Street Grill that I like. I need to explore and figure things out. It's a decent mall.
