She doesn't know how to use a smart phone or computer. She barely understands basic banking, so we do our best to help her where we can. She takes the handivan to and from work everyday and brings home little over $200 a month for the few hours that she works. One of us siblings will take her to the bank to cash her two checks for the month. When going to the bank she is a bit unorthodox in her requests, many times confusing the teller and not fully understanding what the teller is saying. But i gotta tell you, I tip my hat to the service folks at pearlridge branch. They are amazing. Sometimes they are taken aback at the things she makes them do, but their patience and professionalism is incredible. I'm glad that my sister can experience the privilege of working and earning a paycheck, and then being treated so well at the bank despite her challenges.

This First Hawaiian Bank is located just right on the edge of Pearlridge Center near Pali Momi and one reasons I do love this location is that they have parking that's dedicated to the bank regardless being part of the mall. This bank has been here for as far as I can remember and with that the layout is quite spacious with a massive outdoor area in comparison to many of the other locations but the was zero wait and with the help of a lovely teller the gentleman was a delight and was on my way in just minutes...it's just still frustrating that I'm unable to process my check any other way than directly walking in. Members submit photos to the contest and the best photos are published in the calendar. It's really cool to see local talent from amateur photographers in our 50th State! Note: I'm a member here because I used to work for The City and County of Honolulu. My coworker said that it's better to have more Credit Union accounts and compare interest rates, benefits, etc. Since I was in the area, I went to this branch of Aloha Pacific FCU. It had free shared parking and great air conditioning! The interior was bright and clean with cute Christmas decorations. Unlike the main branch where members speak to tellers via phone - and place ID, checks, cash, and other documents into a tube to send upstairs, this Waimalu branch has face-to-face transactions. I like it better! When it was my turn, I stepped up and asked for a calendar. I was asked how many? Ooh! I got two - one for my kitchen and one for my bathroom... Haha! I never know what day it is!
