I can't say enough good things about Felix Lopez and his company First Choice Painting. He was by far the most professional company I've worked with. My house was in very dire straights with lots of cracks in the stucco which lead to numerous leaks whenever it rained. Felix's crew repaired all the cracks and sealed the windows and doors. I hired Felix and Paul Lopez of First Choice Painting to paint my Thousand Oaks home. I had several bids and First Choice was not the lowest, but close. Their bid was comprehensive, competitive and I liked their work references. Insurance and license all checked out. The job was estimated to take a week. Paul Lopez was at the job site each day and brought a crew of 6! I am thrilled to report the job was beautifully completed in 2 days! I hired First Chioice Painting to paint the whole inside of my home in Northridge. Felix was very good at calling me back and showing up to give me an estimate. He explained that instead of having two painters there he would bring in a crew of 6 and finish the house in one day.I was a little skeptical about this but he was likeable and seemed professional and to know what he was doing ,so I agreed. He did show up with the crew but instead of staying to supervise left his brother at the house and took off. The problem came at the end of the day when they were trying to paint the bathrooms at night without enough light. I was unhappy but Felix was back by then and told me don't worry we will come back tomorrow or the next day and do all the touch up for what we have missed. So far he had done what we agreed on and when he asked for payment I very stupidily paid him in full. I asked for the invoice for my tax records and he apoligized but said he didn't have any in the truck but would email me a copy of the bill or bring it when they did the touch up painting. It is now two months later and despite numerous calls and text messages and actually speaking to Felix, First Choice never came back to finish any of the touch up nor did he ever send me a copy of the invoice. I had to hire another painter to finsh about 4 hours of painting which First Choice should have finished. My last call to Felix told him that if he id not send me an invoice I would post this on Yelp and of course I never heard anything back from him. Bottom line I would definitely NOT reccomend usin First Choice. read more

I would Recommend using First Choice, I gave them a call and had Paul one of the managers show up the next day to give me a quote to paint my house. In the next days Paul and his crew showed up to paint my house and did an incredible job, since my house has been painted I have received many compliments on the paint job. Not the best. The preparation guys could not speak english and had no idea where the owners were when I asked. They promised to clean up, which they failed to do. They smashed plants and broke sprinklers, they broke tile in the swim up bar area, broke pool area decor, spilled paint in the patio area and front drive way. Failed to paint several areas, had to call to come back. Came back three times to complete. When I told them about the broken items, they denied it and claimed they had pictures but never showed me pictures. They spoke Spanish to each other and that we it. Felix, the contract writer, kept trying to say how wonderful a job they do, he was nice enough, but his brother Paul, the actual painter was only interested in doing a fast job. Did not prep as promised, failed to sand and prime areas as promised. Price was not the cheapest, and the work was alright, nothing special. Felix has lots of "photos" of their supposed work, however this group needs homeowner supervision. They only spray paint, and do not sand as promised. Very fast. Would not recommend and will not use again. read more

First Choice painted my house in 2014. At that time Felix promised he would keep a record of the colors of the paint he used throughout my house. I recently had a water leak that required patching of some drywall. I asked Felix to give me the records of the paint he used as I needed to paint the patched drywall.He NEVER responded to my request. Once again, ALL TALK NO WALK! read more

We were recommended from family and friends to First Choice Painting. They were so responsive to my inquiry, came out promptly to look at our house, then provided a prompt and great estimate. My husband and I were so impressed by their customer service. They fit us in pretty quickly, which was great, and immediately helped with providing paint samples to take a look at. It was so nice not having to go pick up and test all the samples ourselves, they graciously did this all for us.
