Nice people, but way overpriced. Took my 2010 CRV (185K miles, primarily towed behind RV) to check Catalytic Converters. Had been diagnosed at Fred Anderson Honda previously needing both replaced for total cost of $5100.00. I provided First Class with the paperwork from Fred Anderson, with quote and told them my primary reason coming was to not pay "dealership service pricing". Also asked up front if they would use aftermarket equipment in the event they needed replacing and was told yes as long as available. Was quoted $6576 by First Class Halt to replace the converters and the sensors. Taking out the cost of the oxygen sensors, their quote was $800 higher than dealership gave. Asked when discussing the quote if they would consider aftermarket converter was told absolutely not they are all junk (contrary to my initial discussion). After receiving the quote, I went online and without much searching found 3 Honda OEM sources online with the identical parts priced total between $3130 and $3419 just for the parts on the quote. First Class quote for the parts alone was $6140. MSRP for the parts total $4785.00 (found matching pricing across multiple sources for this). The three websites I found quickly were all under $3500.00 for the parts. First Class Halt was charging 28% over MSRP for the parts. They very well may be experts on Honda but to say they "provide dealership services at a fraction of the cost" is not accurate. TO be fair, when I told Crystal during our phone call that I am not spending more to fix the car than I paid for it, she did call me back later and told me she could get around $500 off of my quote. I do not "not recommend" but will advise you to take caution on their pricing. read more

Dishonest work.. I went to Fist Class Halt on May 15th to have my brakes inspected on my 2017 Honda Odessy before a long road trip with my family. My brakes were making a clunking noise going over bumps. First Class said they inspected the brakes and everything checked out. 2 months later while driving back from a family vacation the top caliper bolts fell off my front brakes caliper causing my van to come to a complete stop in the middle of the interstate. The failure of First Class Halt to catch a simple loose bolt almost cost my family and my life. It is a miracle we survived. My brakes were still making the same noise even after First Class Halt said they inspected the brakes which tells me they did nothing more than look at them. Once the bolt was fixed, the clunking noise stopped. The worst part is First Class Halt didnt even give me my $75 back from the inspection after I brought this to their attention. Last honest mechanic!! We were driving through on our big vacation trip and our old Toyota was in dire need of an oil change. We just bought this car before we left from San Francisco and although it is running great we were not sure when it had been serviced last, so we rolled in to FCH intending to get a major service done at the same time as the oil change. Although the shop was fully booked Mark - the owner - took time out to hear our concern and squeezed us in. He ordered all the parts necessary for the tune up but realized upon closer inspection and after pulling one of the old plugs that everything was recently done, so all we needed was an oil change and we decided to throw in a new air-filter now that we had the hood up. We left feeling confident in the condition of our old Toy and saved a ton of money. If only Mark and his team would be in the Bay Area it would all be perfect. read more

Recently brought my 2004 Pilot in convinced I was needing a transmission because it was showing a considerable increase in RPM's without corresponding increase in acceleration. They found the air conditioner compressor was locked up solid creating massive drag on the engine. New compressor, belt and labor I was out the door for about half the price of a tranny and they checked it out too just to be sure I didn't have that as an additional issue. Good work 1st Class HALT! Very satisfied with the quality of service here. They are honest and fair dealing. They did a good job the first time, as the other reviewer said. They'll tell you what needs to be done and what can be postponed or isn't necessary, unlike dealerships that will insist on expensive procedures when they aren't necessary just to line their pockets with your money. They'll also alert you on your bill to what may need work later. Mark, his workers, and the lady at the desk were all polite, professional, and helpful. They try to make you feel at home and show you where the refreshments are at, etc. ( Mi taller es su taller. ) And if the car repair procedure will take several hours, they even offer you the courtesy of transporting you somewhere until it's ready, which is nice. Have had a vibration in the front end of our Lexus GX460 for months. Had it in to Lexus 3 times with the last time's quote $$$$ and no guarantees it would solve the problem.
