When compounding was no longer allowed in Jacksonville, they started selling name brands, ie: Wegovy. In an effort to increase profits, he started charging $80 per visit, in addition to the high cost of the product, $500. There are other providers out there that run their business like professionals. There is a PA there named Mike that is excellent, professional and well equipped to see patients. Most places like this take walk-ins, especially if you're just getting a B12 shot. I walked in a few weeks ago to use the special on their website and get a quick B12 shot. It was around 12:00. I walked in. Explained I was a new patient just looking for the B12 special posted online and signed in on the iPad. The girl working the front said "uh yeah, all the doctors are on lunch break, you'll have to come back in an hour"... don't get me wrong, I understand a lunch break - but I've never been to a doctors office where they all take a break at the same time and don't see patients?? I ended up leaving and driving 5 miles up the road to "Thrive" in the St. John's Town Center. Walked in and was greeted immediately with smiles! Signing in and paperwork lasted maybe 2 minutes. They give free injections based on positive reviews posted so don't be fooled by the volume of positive reviews. Their marketing tactics are good from a marketing standpoint but sometimes seem to lure people in under false pretenses (special price but then real price for full program is more; automatically making appointments for clients when they didn't request them which results in additional cost to the client if they don't realize they have used all of their 'packaged' visits) The ladies in the office are pleasant but I found the one male physician to be rude. Physician conversations are minimal at best. I got the three-month special: three doctor visits, prescription for appetite suppressant, 12 B12 shots that are supposed to boost weight loss as well. Sounded like a deal. After the first doctor visit, which lasted 10 minutes, the other two only lasted 2 minutes. Pointless. The shots hurt afterwards A LOT and did absolutely nothing, in my opinion (I skipped some weeks to compare results with no difference), and I still had to pay for the phentermine at the drug store. So with the meds, I paid a total of $400. I followed the recommended Keto diet and the phentermine did help me eat less. I lost 20 pounds in three months. Sounds good but I've done Weight Watchers for a lot less and had the same results. The keto diet alone would have resulted in the same weight loss and at no cost at all. I fell for another gimmick. I think it would be more successful if they did more counseling with their patients. One of the previous yelp reviewers stated that you see the doctor for about 5minutes. That is true. Essentially, this is about getting a prescription for weight loss. Most people will gain the weight back, some do not. The medical team is friendly and non-judgmental. My advice for five star review would be: Call your patients to remind them if they've missed a shot. Call them weekly and ask how they are doing with their eating plan. Talk to them about their food preferences and behaviors and help them set up weekly meal plans that they will be more likely to stick with. I think this program could be successful if you rely on more than a couple of sheets of paper with bland diet suggestions not tailored to the individual and some blue pills. read more
