Dr. Pilcher, my original doc was injured and hasn't been able to return to work for several years. Angela Armstrong has been my provider in her absence. The professionalism and passion for patients is STILL top notch! That is evidenced by the nearly full waiting room I see at each visit. Even with a near capacity waiting room- the wait is never excessive. Mrs. Armstrong is quick, efficient, thoughtful, thorough, knowledgeable, helpful, and very caring! I've always felt confident in her findings and recommendations, although I have to admit I don't always follow her recommendations to a 'T.' The single most important time that I NEEDED to, was the time she discovered I had a large melanoma on my shoulder. We immediately made an appt for Dr. Shvartzman to remove it. The surgery went seamlessly, although he took out a much larger area than I thought needed to be removed. But, then again, I'm not the doctor and I'm doing just fine now! Hands down -- this is THE BEST dermatology/skin surgery office in Jax! Why would anyone want to go anywhere else???

The short story is I refused treatment, the procedure was performed anyway and my tissue and PHI were sent to a third party against my will. I checked in 5 minutes prior to my early morning appt- Good I looked around the lobby, only 2 people waiting- Good I was called and escorted to an exam room within 5 minutes of sitting down in the lobby- Good I sat there in the small, cold room on a hard exam table for 20 minutes- Not so Good At the 20 minute mark an MA finally came in, confirmed the reason for my visit, then handed me a gown to put on for the screening- Maybe Good? But I sat waiting, in the gown, in the small cold room on a hard exam table, for 30 MORE MINUTES!-- Really Not Good! I took off the gown, got dressed, walked out of the small,cold room with a hard exam table and in the hallway there was a cluster of staff (4) including the MA who had come in 30 minutes prior. Told him I had been waiting 50 minutes and was leaving. His reply, "Can you wait just 3 more minutes?" Really?... No! (didn't believe nor trust him at that point). There was no apology- no rationale- the other 3 staffers just looked down at charts/phones- BAD! I went to the reception desk (3 staff there) - told the person who I had checked in with that I had waited 50 minutes in the exam room and had not been seen by anyone, so not to bill me for the appointment. His response, "would you like to reschedule?"-- BAD AGAIN! No sincerity, no apology, no AI bot text asking how my appt went, no follow-up phone call from a manager/or Dr Perez even, if there were a true culture of customer service present. BAD, BAD, BAD.... I switched to another Derm... was being screened in exam room 6 minutes after check-in... GOOD!

I was a patient for 5+ years and because they chose to discontinue taking my Medicare Advantage and plan, I'm now seeking care somewhere else. Disgusted. Particularly because they told me that my insurance company cancelled them when it was the other way around. And all of this was in their computer system but they let me schedule an appointment anyway. It was only after I arrived that I learned my insurance had been rejected by them.

I went for acne and have been needing to discuss my medications. I've called and left voicemails on the nurses line several times, and I have YET to get a phone call back regarding any of my issues. I also went for a skin check and the PA was incredibly rude- disregarding all my concerns. The front desk staff won't even let you finish what you're saying before they transfer you (incorrectly-I might add). The front desk staff also will answer the phone off hold and then replace you back on hold indefinitely if it's close to closing time (I.e. the time normal working people can call). This office is incredibly disorganized and impossible to get anything done. I will not be returning (not that the staff cares LOL). I would highly recommend that if you have serious skin concerns you go somewhere else, this place will not take you seriously as a patient. Dr. Sinder is like a small town local doctor. He knows everyone. He's been in practice for a very long time and he's beyond knowledgeable. He works well with specialists to coordinate care for our family. The office staff is very friendly and personable. There's not a lot of turn over so it's the same friendly places each time. If you're close to the urban core and looking for a thorough pediatric office this is the one for you. They also take most insurance and coordinate all of that for you. Highly recommend.
