Today I was looking for a small, not too expensive, special gift for an elderly friend who is in rehab--for her 93rd birthday. This store is a gem--I saw several items which would have been acceptable. I chose one but wanted to add a little something. My friend loves butterflies (and the color purple) and the proprietress told me she could create one to put on the gift. And, she did!! What wonderful service! Then, as I truly looked around, I saw that there were quite a few distinct sections--all with great gift items. My husband was having a rash in the winter from dry skin and this product made a big difference for him. These soaps come in so many wonderful scents that it is sometimes hard to choose - but my personal favorites are Lemongrass Calendula and Honey House (honey goat's milk). Although we had dinner plans to celebrate a birthday, we were quite pleased to see an amazing turn out of vendors, both, art, food. Etc... Most all of the shoppes of St Johns Ave were opened... and of course the restaurants were quite busy as well.... Many of the Artwalk goers also bring their dogs..... Tonight they had a very impressive Santa taking pictures with the kids.... All around good way to be out in the open air and living amongst your community!

He took his time showing my daughter the process, from pouring, mixing, balancing the smells and everything in between. He knew a lot about scents and what goes well together. The shop itself was really nice and tidy. Bonus points on the "secret" room that had some gaming stuff like pool table, mini arcade area and some board games. I say secret because the connecting door is hidden as one of the shelves. He let us take our time in the room that is actually an adjoining room to his shop that has its own entrance/exit door. We could have also bought food from next door and the shop offers drinks. They have different events every month. Really neat shop, close to lots of other neat businesses like coffee and ice cream shops.
