We went here for my daughter's birthday. They have a special class for kids 7-17 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Since it was a Tuesday morning, it was pretty quiet in the area and we had a private class with Chris. Chris was very thorough, starting with candle and fire safety. He took his time showing my daughter the process, from pouring, mixing, balancing the smells and everything in between. He knew a lot about scents and what goes well together. The shop itself was really nice and tidy. Bonus points on the "secret" room that had some gaming stuff like pool table, mini arcade area and some board games. I say secret because the connecting door is hidden as one of the shelves. He let us take our time in the room that is actually an adjoining room to his shop that has its own entrance/exit door. We could have also bought food from next door and the shop offers drinks. They have different events every month. We went to Wick N Twisted for a candle making and magical terrarium class with Gardenista Jax. Both classes were fun, informative and easy to follow for the kiddos. I went with my son and some friends, and we all want to go back for a girl's night out. You get to choose your candle container, number of wicks and scents. They recommend choosing 3 scents and there are a lot of scents to choose from! They were helpful with helping us decide which ones went well together. The other side is a gaming lounge/bar with self-pour taps, which is pretty neat. You can serve yourself beer and wine after getting a card from the front desk. Recently had the opportunity to check out Wick N Twisted. I really love the setup they have. Candle classes in one room and a fun hangout spot in the adjoining room with SELF-POUR BEERS!! They have a great selection of beers and even wines on tap. You pay by the ounce and there is a counter that flips like a taxi meter while you pour so you know how much it is going to be. There is a good selection of vessels for the candles and the class is more immersive than others I've taken. It was fun and informative, and you get to create your own scent based on what you like. Such a fun experience! We walked in around 430 on a Sunday afternoon with 2 people and were greeted by the owner who let us know there was another group that had just came in and we could join. You start out with smelling the 90 different scents they have available, and then choosing up to 3 for your own candle. Then an instructor went through the process of actually making the candle with us. While we waited for the candle to dry, there was another half of the space with drinks and games to hang out. When I walked in, I was greeted immediately and shown the scent wall, the vessels, etc. You choose 2-3 scents to mix and then you make your candle under the guidance of staff. While your candle molds, which takes about an hour and half, you can wait in their game room which consists of arcade games, board games, a beer wall, and snacks. Looking for a Day Date, Group outing, or Family QT. My partner and I visited Jacksonville for the weekend. I found this place on Yelp and after reading the reviews, I knew it was a must try. The owners are a married couple and they are very much involved and they're such good people with good energy. The class itself doesn't take long & I sat at the bar and was able to watch the football game, have a couple of drinks while making my candle. I chose 3 scents for my candle and was able to name it. 1 hour of wait time which we sat in the back and played games until it was ready to take home. This is an amazing place I promise you! The self service drinks were very nice - you don't have to wait for a refill and you also don't have to fill your glass all the way as you pay per ounce. Amazing experience from the beginning to end! They went over candle care. They had a wall full of candles with scents to choose. (With a little secret surprise.) You were also able to choose from a variety of bases to put the wax in. Directions were explained thoroughly and patience was there. Once we were waiting for the wax to cool, we enjoyed some self serve alcoholic beverages, popcorn and a card game.
