However, outdoor space is awesome, distanced and perfect for people watching! We tried a few of their beers. You can pour as little or as much as you want to taste many or just a few. You get a card to fill your drinks- be careful at checkout as prices aren't listed! They have an awesome array of local beers and national selections ranging from ciders to heavy beers. Their IPA selection is particularly diverse! The reason we came here: ADOBO DENVER! Incredible philippino and Latin fusion. Too many good things to try. Do not miss grilled elote with chicharron and cilantro. It was unforgettable and delicious. Grilled perfectly and I recommend NOT SHARING! I'm so glad we got to come to this Tap House during Covid. I was a little sad we couldn't use the taps along the wall, but I also completely understand why we couldn't. That would be almost impossible to keep clean. The food was amazing and the beers were tasty! I was happy the doors were up and we got to feel like we were outside but inside and cool. Of the 50 options, 5-7are not beer... They have a great menu to order eats. It's limited but always on point and great for a quick nosh if you are doing a circuit of breweries/tap rooms. The rollup doors bring the outside in and it's always a fun group of happy people enjoying their time on the patio. We've had birthday parties here and casual drinks before dinner. This place is dope! I've been working from home and really wanted to go out and enjoy the day. Luckily i came across this spot and it was the perfect place to sit, sip, and work. They have a chill outside area and also patio-like inside. It completely opens up in the front allowing tons of natural light to come in. They also have a second floor that looks a little more private and chill. They have a lot of beers on tap and even have some wines! This place is the best. I am Filipino so I am always missing grandmothers cooking and I found the the place!!! This place has a food spot inside called adobo & it is grandmothers cooking. You have to get their chicken adobo bowl with lumpia. It is homemade, a recipe from the owners grandmother. This place rate like home. But, if you have never tried Filipino food, how's your time to try it, you won't regret it. A big brewery with over 40 drafts lined up along the walls, that you can pour all by yourself. Ah-mazing. This was one of the last stops on mine and my friend's brewery hopping day before we headed to a comedy show. After spending the day checking out downtown Denver's brewery scene, I have to say that this was definitely a Top 3 spot for me. A few reasons why: 1) Really, really, really, really, really friendly staff. Like I mean, probably some of the friendliest I've ever met. Sometimes you forget how much great customer service can affect your whole experience, but the First Draft staff definitely makes sure you have a great time. 2) You get to self serve your beer! How it works: you get a card (can either pay a certain amount up front or give them your credit card info), and then you pay by the ounce. The more beer you pour, the more you pay. You tap the card on a screen right above the keg taps and when the light is green, you can go ahead and pour. The great thing about this is that you can sample a bit of everything before deciding on what you want. The beers are also organized from how light it is to how dark it is, so you can easily find what you're looking for. 3) Really good beer. Since I was able to sample a few different beers before I poured my own, I found one that I really liked. Now that I'm writing this review I can't remember what beer it was. But with 40 different beers on tap, guaranteed that you'll find something you enjoy. 4) They have plenty of room inside and outside. Since it was sunny when we came in, we utilized their patio and drank some refreshing beers in the sunshine. As you walk up there's lot's of seating, inside, outside or up in this balcony section. I wanted to sit right inside by the 40 taps of beer lining the wall so beautifully! All you do is go up to the register get your beer glass and a checkout card.. this is how you activate each beer tap and pour just what you want. Since you pay per ounce this is perfect for trying many many different beers. All the beers have a great description card above them, very helpful with so many options. Love that there were so many IPA's on draft and ciders for the fall. Bathrooms are available, but they are located out the side door and down the hallway...think they are shared with some offices in the building. Woah. I think I may be in love with a bar. When visitors come to Denver, chances are they want to try a lot of beer. First Draft is a great place to start that journey. You're given a card that you can then touch to different taps, pour as much of it as you want, drink, and repeat. The cards keep track of how much you drink and when you're ready to cash out, your total is determined based on the type of beer and quantity you consumed. I probably tried about six different types of beer (equally around 18 oz) and was so surprised when my bill was only $10. It was also an educational experience, as all the different panels let you know information on the taste of the beer, where it's from, ABV, etc., so that you can really delve into what you may like, if you're not quite sure. Oh yeah, if you have wine, cocktail, or even kombucha lovers in your party, there's a tap for that! I was also impressed by how tame and open it was on a Saturday night. I can only assume that's because there are SO many places to get your beer on in Denver, that not everyone is tempted to head to the same place. Once you tap the card on the screen, it lights up green and you're ready to pour however much you want. When you're ready to try something else, you can invert your glass and rinse it out. They also have a food menu and we ordered poutine fries, wings, a burger, and bone marrow. Food was good to munch on with the different beers on tap. With 40 Taps lining the long wall downstairs, you'd think I would have been most excited by the vast array of beer options offered at First Draft. Well, since I only get to tast beer these days, I was pretty pumped to see every style under the sun available for sampling, from serious sours and stouts to incredibly hoppy IPAs, and even a few dedicated to vino and kombucha! You could literally spend all night standing in front of this wall! But the food. Oh yes. The food was the perfect foil to all the liquid goodness flowing through this place. First the pretzels. The pretzels. The pretzels! I was going to be good and only "taste" a half of one and by the end of the meal I had devoured two of these! I'm not sure if it was the salty, crusty exterior, the soft sweet doughy inside, saison cheese sauce or the fantastic whole grain mustard that made them go down so easily, but sweet baby jebus these things were fantastic! Then the burger. HUGE BURGER. A massive mound of colorado meat on a pillowy soft bun topped with fresh fixins, all added up to a magnificent mouthful! Side note: French fries were fabulous. Brussel sprouts perfectly prepared. Merguez sausage a bit of a let down (kinda bland). But the piece de resistance had to be dessert! Fresh baked chocolate chip cookies, warm from the oven, served alongside a tulip filled with chocolate stout infused milk. Ooey, gooey, soft and chewy, cookies, perfect for picking apart (not so much for dunking) closed out the meal in a most magical fashion. Beer drinker or not, First Draft is fun for all. Love the concept. Walk up to the counter, show them your id (they scan it), give you a card, and then off you go to choose from the wall of beers. There are 40 wall options, with descriptions and staff's picks, you hold up your card until you get a green light, and then you pour as much or as little as you want. This card not only tracks your pours for "billing" purposes, it also stops you at 32 oz and gives the staff the opportunity to evaluate your level of intoxication. As for the ambience, it's very open and casual. I came on a beautiful day and enjoyed a nice breeze, even though I sat on the inside. This is a very cool concept for a beer bar and I absolutely loved our time at First Draft! You get a swipe card tied to a credit/debit card with a limit of 32 oz per person. They have 40 taps of all different kinds of beer, a couple of wines and even a kombucha when we were there. To pour, just tap your card on the lower right corner of the sign above the tap and start pouring. The screen will show you how many ounces you poured and how many ounces you have left. It also tells you how much each pour is per ounce. When you're done you cash out at the register and you can pay with the credit/debit card they have on file. Pouring your own beer is really fun! I liked being able to try just a little bit of several different beers. There is plenty of outdoor seating; my friends and I sat outside and played Yahtzee that we brought with us. Came here twice during my short trip to Denver. That tells you a lot how much I like this place. This should be in every town or major city. So the concept: show IDs, open up a tab with your credit card, you will get cards similar to arcades that will activate the beer spouts. There is quite a selection of beverages on tap, I believe 35-40, from dark, light, wine, cider etc. I couldn't name the beers I tried, but they were all good. I did enjoy the Carmel Apple Cider beer, it's the only one I recall. Back to the concept, each time you swipe and pour it deducts X amount of oz from the max, which I believe is 32oz. While we not really drink that much, hence did not spend more than $15 on our tabs each visit...the idea of trying different beers at your own discretion is def a gimmick that sold me to come back in future trips to Denver. Now if you want to come here just to get drunk, I'm sure you can find a much cheaper option. I couldn't give this place a full 5* because I did not try the food! I will be back one day. read more

I am very impressed by this place. I love their concept and I wish there was one in LA. So basically, once you go you check in with the wait staff and they will check your ID and grab you card. You card is then paired with their high tech card that you will use to order food and drinks. They have about 40 beers on tap and its pour your own! Its about $0.50 per ounce and their glass is about 12 ounces so about $6 a glass which is pretty standard. The cool part is that because its pour your own, you can just pour and bit and taste until you get the beer you like. You just tap the card on the beer of your choice and pour. It keeps tracks of how many ounces you've poured and whatnot. When you order food, you also use the same card so that gets rid of splitting the tab! My only complaint is that there was only 1 person in the front of the house and she was doing everything - Greeting people, setting up the cards, cleaning tables, serving food and processing the payments. She did a great job but because she was the only one it took a bit of time to get food and checks. Genius! Please open one in LA! Sign me up! read more

The CONCEPT: come in, register your ID and credit card, grab an ID bracelet, choose a beer or wine(yep, they had 3 to choose from), scan your bracelet and start pouring! Your bracelet keeps track of how much beer you pour and you pay the final amount at the end, it's as simple as that! There are around 40 different beers on tap to choose from and each has an electronic screen that gives you a full description of that beer/wine so you can know what to expect before you pour : ) So No waiting in line for a bartender or bugging them to ask "what kind of beer is that." Yah.....they may charge anywhere from $0.40 - $2.00 per ounce poured, which can sound a little pricey, but when you think about it, this gives you a chance to sample as many different beers as you like and pour as little OR as much as your little heart desires. Along with the great beer selection, First Draft offers a a very open concept with plenty of seating as well as a wonderful patio out front.....and we all know how I LOVE a good patio ; ) We only tried their plate of pretzels because I was craving some horseradish mustard dipping sauce : p Three come to an order and those were the 3 most buttery and moist pretzels EVER!! I LOVE the concept here! You check in and get a card that will track the ounces you pour yourself of around 30 different draft beer/cider/wine options. Very interactive, which is always something I like. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful and the layout was wide open and had a social vibe to it. Long picnic style tables filled the building, which felt like it was built to be a garage. This place would be great for groups. There was an upstairs area that I'm sure would give a great view when the business picks up, but let's face it, why would you want to put yourself so far away from the taps? We didn't order food, but everything coming out of the kitchen (openly visible from the tasting/dining room) smelled and looked AWESOME. We noticed that they had a happy hour and a brunch menu as well, certainly worth a visit. I hope to eat next time. Ultimately, this is a great spot to taste and try several different beers that you otherwise might not take a leap of faith on.
