This place rocks! We've come here a few times now for the self-tapping beers, but this is the first time I've gotten their food. It was super solid! We got a few things to share: the wings with the jalapeño siracha sauce, the cheesesteak, the pizza roll and the buffalo chicken wrap. The wrap looked way better than it was and that was the only thing that wasn't awesome! The cheesesteak was a 5/5 and so were the pizza rolls and wings! Can't beat $5 for a mule in RINO! I had the Kentucky (whiskey) while my husband had the Mexico mule (tequila). Both were decent, but I preferred the Kentucky mule over the Mexican mule. Absolutely loved the atmosphere- nice, dog friendly patio, and they had the garage doors open so it was nice and breezy inside. I will be back and recommend for sure. read more

We were SO excited to stumble upon first draft while in Denver! We are from Minneapolis, where our first draft closed earlier this year -- and we had no idea that there were other locations! A self serve taproom is my favorite, so I'm so happy to have gotten to try this out during our quick trip. I love this concept - you start a tab with your credit card, then you get your own little card and wave it in front of the tap, then pour as much or as little as you want of anything on tap! The prices are pretty decent, just don't get too carried away or you'll end up with a surprise when you get your final bill. I also liked that they had a box where you could essentially close your tab out by putting your card in there and it would add a 20% tip. It's nice if you're in a hurry to leave but can't get anyone's attention to cash out. I do wish there was a little larger of a selection for things like sours, hard seltzers, meads, ciders, etc. read more

After a delicious dinner at Carne, my friend and I headed next door for a beer at First Draft. I didn't realize this place is one of those where you get a card at the counter and pour your own beer. Fortunately my friend is an expert, so I didn't have to embarrass myself. Lots of excellent beer options, sorted by type, with plenty of information about each. The guy at the counter was super helpful as well. I didn't get to try the food, but from the looks of other reviews, it doesn't seem to be a highlight. This was a great spot to hang out and have some apps and just chill with friends as they have both indoor and outdoor seating. I came here on a Friday night after a ball game, and it was a good choice. Only thing is I wish they have more restrooms. I remember waiting a quite a long line. Love all the taps that they have especially the Colorado ones. You can play around and find what you like. Great spot and very fun concept for a beer lover who likes pouring their own beer. You keep a card on file and get a big glass you can drink from. They have some decent snacks too. The pretzels pair very well with all the beer. I haven't tried much else but I'm sure I will when I come back. Great spot for big groups of friends. This spot is on my list for a potential causal birthday get together. Overall 4.5/5 read more

Found this place while walking around larimer street. It called my name. The outside patio is pretty big and the inside is spacious as well. I discovered they have an upstairs as well. But my favorite part was the beer selection. I love how this whole thing is set up. You get a card and you tap it on the beer you want and you pour. You get charged by the ounce but when I checked out it was super cheap!!! Service was great and the atmosphere was amazing. Will be telling all my friends about this place!!! A craft beer lover's playground. Tons of beer on tap from Colorado and some other states too. You can pour your own so you can try many different ones without committing to a full pint. Great location as it's next to some other spots, one being a food hall so you can either get you base layer started or go grab some grub after your fill of beer. We did order the chile fries off of their menu to go along with our beer and they were delicious! A you-pour-it style tap room. I liked the option of getting to try many different beers and ciders by just pouring myself short pours. Sorry about all that glassware. Many of them were local beers which was nice. The décor and vibe is pretty funny stuff (not just a Shenanigan's in Super Troopers) . I got a kick-out of all the Back to the Future stuff. Good open seating indoors with a good size front patio too. This place would be good for a group of friends or a first date spot too. This was my first ever stop in Colorado and 'No Ragrats!'. Anyone visiting from out of state I bring here because it's such a cool concept and though it is now really starting to take off all over the country this was the first self-service tap location I've been to. Pre-covid they had an awesome food menu in which you could pretty much pick anything and know it would be really good. Their taps seem to change frequently and there is such a good variety- if you're not into beer they've still got something for you whether it's wine, cider(still sort of beer), or kombucha. On your first visit you may wish to try maybe 10 to 12 or hell maybe try each and every one of them- It might be rude to do that at a brewery but here it is commonplace and you really get to filter down to what it is you like most. The vibe is always good energy, good service, and overall pretty relaxed. Right now they are allowing an outside vendor to cater food and a lot of people were ordering from it so I'm sure it's good. Definitely a top favorite place, come here you won't regret it! read more

Check in with hostess, swipe your CC, it connects to a card for the bar. then go to the draft wall, slide your card up against what you want, drop the cup under the pour...and pour away. pour as little or as a lot as you want - you pay by the OZ. prices are listed. some are cheap, some not so much. but this is genuis...i love that you can just sample whatever you want, and self serve. great selection too. bathroom is down the hallway, thats shared with the whole building & you get a code to open the door. read more

When this place first started, it was incredible. We felt as if the prices for the taproom were equivalent to drinks in the area. A lot has happened since, and now you're lucky if you can find a beer that you enjoy that is not $10-$13. the food here is always awesome though. You order it from the QR code, and it comes directly to your table. Everything here is pretty self serve, which makes it a very quick in and out. It's located in the heart of rhino, and you can walk to a lot of places from here as well. The decor is awesome. It really encapsulates the vibe of rhino. It's a great spot, but I give it three stars because of the recent price increases, which I understand. I just feel like they should be kept within ballpark of the surrounding areas, especially for the beer. As you can see in the photo, they have a huge selection. This is an awesome self-serve craft beer stop! We've been to one other place like this & the other place wasn't as good because it didn't seem like they cleaned their lines. We brought our dog so we had to sit on the patio that had one tent for shade. The host here was so nice & made sure our dog had water. My only complaint would be that I wish there were more umbrellas & cooling fans cause it's HOT out. Also, the food truck Adobo at First Draft is fantastic! We got tacos. Awesome taproom with a nice selection. They also have a full bar and a list of specialty cocktails. Staff does a nice job of explaining the pay ahead/card feature used for the taps. I've never had the food here, so I can't say how it is. What I've seen looks good though! I like sitting outside. I wish they had more fruity sours or ciders (they probably do on the rotating taps but didn't the two times i was here), but this is still a really fun brewery experience! read more

The staff was nice, the selection was great so I have no complaints there. There's plenty of non alcoholic options, hard kombucha, wine, beer that you pour yourself by the ounce. They do have a kitchen which includes a selection of tacos, nachos etc. When we got done and ready to pay we were never told what we were truly being charged for. I was told my total was $32 or so, the screen was flipped with an option to tip which ranged from 18% and higher. I chose my tip option, signed and got my receipt. As we walked out realized that a 20% charge was already automatically charged on the tab before I even got the option to tip. The charge called Living Wage Fee was not disclosed to us. So to recap my experience... after getting my own glass, pouring my own beer, cleaning up after myself (putting glasses away after use to clear off the table) I was forced to pay a total of 40% in simple tips. I understand times are tough and businesses need to implement options to keep staff employed, all I ask if that you let me know what I get charged for and tipping in this case should be optional. If I would have known I already paid 20% Living Wage Fee, I would maybe have considered the additional 20% tip on top of that. read more

giving this place 3 stars for the beer only, the food was hard pass however. It is sooooo cool that you can try so many different beers and you only pay for what you pour yourself, what a cool concept. especially if you want to try something new but mayyyyybe don't want a full glass. It is a little lacking on decent ipa's and hazy's but, the novelty more than makes up for it. I tried the lumpia/eggrolls since it was their "claim to fame" and said "as seen on netflix" but man these things were just awful. no flavor besides bitterness. the seasoning added on the rice made it not even edible. and the dipping sauce? some of the worst i've ever had. I really enjoyed this place while there. The beer selection is great. I have some issues. 1) They don't tell you how much you are spending, sure they tell you that it is $0.82/ounce and you just dispensed X ounces, but you have to do the math. I can get past that. 2) They completely are shady. I closed out our groups tab, the person at the counter didn't bother to mention that they had already auto added 20% and I added another 20%, they got $180 in tips. I am cool with you telling me that there is an auto tip of 20% and if you want to add more you can, but deceiving is ludicrous. Our company will not come back for happy, I will not come back alone. What a fun place to come and drink. We came here right after our fantastic meal at Uchi. They have 40 great beers on tap and the prices are very reasonable. I sampled about 14 different types and my bill came out to by $15. It's start's about .60/- $1.50 for 1oz pour. They have all different types of beer from Light, Hoppy, Dark, Nitro, Wine, Ciders, and even Kombucha. And it's simple to get started. Just go to the counter show you ID and a credit card and they'll give you a tap card as simple as that. Overall a fantastic fun place with good vibes. read more

First Draft is fun and always a good spot to bring out-of-towners or a group of people with different alcohol preferences -- in addition to plenty of self-serve craft beers, there are usually some hard seltzer, cider, kombucha, and/or wine options. I don't love the new checkout system here. To close your tab, you place your beer card in a cup with one of 3 tip options (18%, 20%, 25%), which they call express check-out. While I am all for leaving a nice tip (the service industry deserves it, especially now!), I think it's odd that they do not readily provide receipts or total charges, given that you really have no idea how much you spent on your beer card until you check out. Unlike a regular brewery where you may know you spent $8 on that IPA and have an idea of the charge you should see on your credit card statement, your charge at First Draft depends on how much you poured and the price/oz of each variety. Leaving without having any idea of how much I spent and not getting a receipt felt strange. That complaint aside, the environment here is fun and I know I will be back. read more

You order a card at the bar to pay and then you use your card to swipe a tap and then pour the amount you want into your glass. I like this concept because you could have a little bit of something if you're not sure if you'll like it. Just remember, you still pay for whatever your pour. They also have snack foods here and I tried their fried pickles, which were really good. I was able to sit outside on their patio with my dog too. First Draft is a super fun bar in a format I've never experienced. I'm not very experienced in different varieties of beer, so this place was perfect. When you walk in, you register your credit card on one of their cards. There's a long line of beers of various types where you can scan your card and fill your glass with however much or little beer you want. Rinse and repeat, and you'll be able to sample a wide variety of different beers without breaking the bank. I spent a while here seeing what I liked and didn't, and this experience was both super fun and educational. read more

LOVED our experience here. My family and I visited Denver (from Houston/Austin) for the first time this week and so happy we got to try this place before they close. We just wanted to find a cool place to drink some good brews and stumbled upon it after dinner. The service was amazing: Staff was super friendly and helpful. Beer was incredible: They had a wall full of draft beer (among other items) and I would purchase all 5 I tried again (my family was also impressed with all of their choices, including the IPAs, lagers, etc). Personally, I'm a fan of the sour/fruit beers, which are usually difficult to find, and they had 5 local options. They had a unique concept with the self-pour, which allowed you to try a number of different drinks without the same price tag as a normal bar. Lastly, the ambiance was lovely. They had a great vibe inside and on the patio, restrooms were clean, and the music wasn't too loud to just hang out and chat. Overall, 10 out of 5 stars. Fun place for beer lovers. They give you a card that allows you to pour your own beers from their 20+ taps ranging from a decent selection of beer types. It charges you by the ounce so pour wisely! I mostly stuck to the Sours and Ciders, but they had a few good ones in the IPA section. I just wasn't trying to get too drunk since this was our first brewery haha. Checked this place out while visiting Denver, and I absolutely loved the concept. The drinks are self serve; you just get a card to scan for each drink and get to pour yourself whatever quantity you want. They have a large selection to choose from of beers and a couple ciders. I don't think you can really be disappointed if you enjoy breweries. The only thing is that it can get dangerously expensive really fast if you're not paying attention to your pours. The reason for the 4 stars is the food. The food is very overpriced for mediocre quality and quantity. I ordered the chicken sandwich and mac and cheese. The chicken sandwich was incredibly dry and bland that I only ate half of it. The mac and cheese was great but overpriced. We also waited a long time for our food, and it wasn't even crowded. However, as this is a place primarily for drinks, I am still very impressed and will definitely be back on my next visit to Denver.
