A friend of mine told me that By Foot Sports sold a shoe called "Hoka One One" (pronounced "o-nay" - more on that later). My wife and I wanted to go try some on but because of her work we couldn't get there until after closing time. Jeff graciously agreed to stay late and spent a good hour with us, trying on shoes and sharing his general love for running. I picked up a pair of Hokas, some calf sleeves, and even a pair of shorts on sale. I am as guilty as anyone of shopping on-line for certain things, but some things I always try to buy locally. Shoes are one. You really need to try shoes on, or in some cases like this, be properly fitted for shoes, in order to get the most out of them. I would hate to see a day in which we are 100% dependent on one sporting goods store in the same way that we are 100% dependent in Winston-Salem on a single book store for all our needs. Thus, I love the motto of By Foot, "We're not Dick's." Do yourself and your community a favor and make the short drive to King to check out By Foot. And about those shoes. The Hoka One Ones are so cushioned in the sole that it is like running on pillows. Being 230 pounds, one reason I didn't run is because of the pounding on my legs and back in regular running shoes. But after having the shoes only 3 weeks or so, I ran 6 miles today. I couldn't have done that in any other shoe.

Being that I liked shoes out of the norm (Hoka's) I was able to find Jeff's store online via the Hoka website. I called earlier in the week and asked Jeff if he had the new Cliftons available in a size 13. Having bigger feet always make shoe shopping a struggle for me, so I usually try and call in advance or special order the shoes. Luckily Jeff had the size 13 so I decided a trip to King was worth the time. Drove out there on Saturday and was greeted by Jeff and was very suprised to see Hoka's everywhere! Usually Hoka's are in the back corner of running stores and not displayed properly. But this store actually promoted them. So far so good. Jeff let me try on the Cliftons, we talked running "shop" for a bit and did some minor lace adjustments to make the Cliftons fit a bit better. And yes, I bought them. =) The personal touch Jeff added in customer service, truly showed me he appreciates his customers and loves everything about running. Tod had many different E-Bikes in his shop and he works on all of them. We ended up buying an Addmotor Grandtan 340 Trike for my wife and a Velotric Nomad for me. Josh gave us $200 off each bike, he gave us free helmets, locks, mirrors, bike locks and we had to buy a bike carrier for our bike and trike and got $200. off the carrier. I have a two year and my wife has a 1 year warranty on our bikes. If any problems during that time or later Tod will warranty his bike or repair it. We also met a family of 3 from our neighborhood in Raleigh that bought 3 bikes while we were there. Tod does it all, answers the phone, sells, repairs and and answers any and all questions you have. I cannot even get East Coast Bike Shop to answer their phone to ask questions and they had at least 3 employees in the shop when my wife and I visited the place about a month ago. Conte's Bike shop was very helpful when answering questions but after extensively checking the reviews we did not buy a Rad E-Bike Trike. I know that if and when we have problems with our E-Bikes that we have to travel to High Point but we will peace of mind that it will be done right the first time.

even though they lose a star for not being as slotty as previously advertised Turn and Burn is…read morepretty excellent... the story going around is that slot cars used to run here but that was a long time ago and when the racers stopped coming in the shop went RC to keep the lights on and it's been that way ever since. ...and it's a pretty excellent RC place with a full service race center with cars and trucks and kits and parts and all that stuff. they sell what they run and they run what they sell with the possible exception of the boats and for all I know there could be plans to put in a lake out behind the dirt tracks (or up front in the parking lot?) ...inside is a flat track that slides and glides and announces lap times for the cars on the track (when I was there two cars were running with a few others in various states of preparation in the pits) and can be configured for circle track or road course ...or maybe test your crawler on a bit of nearby terrain for a nominal fee. ...out back there's a real life dirt oval and an off-road jumpy turny bouncy thing for them what likes bouncy turny jumps (which is just about everyone) and it's got lights for running at night too! ...Turn and Burn ain't just for the racers but there's racing more often than not, rain or shine too. they can do events and also have rentals for the curious. if I stayed closer and had sufficient income I'd probably be regular.

december 2 2018 we purchased a vacuum from isenhour air care, the 4th or 5th time we used it the…read moretrigger started sticking and the red light on the unit started flashing and the unit shut off, called the company after christmas about returning it and was told that by law they couldn't accept a used vacuum.. they wanted to come out and look at it.. i spoke with the owner Ashley F. i gave them the chance to come out because i was getting nowhere asking about a refund, and they said someone would call me the next day to schedule an appointment... we got no call that week. my wife called the next week and the person that she got ahold of was very rude, asked her if she really expected them to drive 2 hours to replace a vacuum and then said someone would call.... it has been 2 weeks now with no call and i can't use the vacuum that i paid 2500 bucks for.... yea, i know, what fool spends this much on a dirt sucker.... THIS GUY! at this point i would just like a refund and to clear the contract that i am financing..

Since I've referred more people and have 8 friends/family members that are now first and second time Rainbow owners. Also, I have been to their office to get my Rainbow fixed (because my puppy chewed the cord)... they were extremely hospitable and VERY quick to get it fixed.
