There were only 2 tellers working front. There were about 8 people in line. The business teller took people when he didn't have anyone in his line but service was slow because people weren't just cashing checks. There were at least 8 people in line when I got there any maybe 8when I left. Another teller opened just as I got to the front but she had been talking and working at her post for about 10 minutes before she even took a customer. There is always lines at this branch and they don't seem to be responsive to the amount of people waiting. read more

the only reason I have an account from first Hawaiian is because if a car loan. it seems they have a monopoly on this in Hawaii. This bank loves to charge fees whenever they get the chance. customer service will not fully give you all the details about an account or loan. stay away from this bank. if the car dealership insist on using FHB, walk away. read more

First Hawaiian Bank Mililani was our choice to open a savings account for our grandson less than a year old ! It was opened under his name and social security number ! The employee at bank suggested we deposit $300 minimum so there would be zero service charges so we did ! After 3 years now our Grandson is almost 4 years old , the bank started taking $10 a month for not having any activity ! Never received a phone call never received mail from First Hawaiian bank telling us that ! Now my Grandson is 14 years old went to bank with my son his father to find out the account was closed ! Sick when you think they could take from a child like that ! Especially with zero notification ! I advise anyone thinking of opening an account with this bank think twice ! First Hawaiian Bank is beautifully redesigned nestled in Mililani Town off Kuahelani Ave. This is all the positive vibes I can say. This location is fully stocked with employees. 2 working the Business Line. 2 working the residential line. 2 working on special services. This is the poorest level of customer service experienced in a long time. I spent a minimum of 30 minutes waiting to get to the teller for a personal transaction. The 2nd teller kept walking away for various reasons. She repeatedly apologized for the wait. She went to the bathroom. Took time to drink water. It was just sad. She even discussed with her co-worker how another couple complained about having waited for 1 hour. My thought was, Oh My- do I really need this cashier's check. Finally I make it to the teller and I got the break lady. I simply asked to be helped quickly and efficiently because I really have somewhere I needed to be. I'm running late. Needless to say, 10 minutes later I was on my way. A total of just under an hour in the bank. I will never come to this branch again. I'd rather go to Wahiawa and do my banking. 3-23-2021 must be a sign of the times...2nd bank I use that will be undergoing a new location and updating features. Believe it must be over 25+years at this branch that I rented a safety deposit box. Prior when I worked in town I had a box at the Main branch there. For me, convenience is everything. When I received the letter stating that they would no longer be offering this service any more I was truly saddened. What now? I didn't want to travel far out of the neighborhood. The finance angels must have been watching out for me & the other customers still in need of this service. Luckily a competitor bank made the move first and was opening at the perfect time. I planned out a strategy. Marked on my calendar the date the new bank was opening. I made an appointment to remove my contents and close my box today at FHB. Process was fast and easy. They even will credit my checking account for the unused balance of the rental fee. Signed in two places on a form and was out the door trying to remain inconspicuous with items stuffed in a vest, a Dooney crossbody and a Kate Spade zippered shoulder tote. Parked steps away from the front door for a fast, safe departure. So glad I didn't meet any Gypsy pick pockets at a train station in Montecatini, Italy or a trio of tourist scammers at the Naschdt Mart in Vienna. My belongings and I got home safely and in tact to be placed in their new home prepared yesterday. Gotta just go with the flow ... things happen for a reason and look for the silver lining. The new location located in the same parking lot as the old FHB is nice. Big. But why did they get rid of the teller line? With only the 2 stand ups and couple on the left. Whyyyyyy?????? I used to work at the PC location and we were do quick. What happened to quickness?!?! And why do the stations go vertically?? Every time I come here for in person banking, the line is long. Add to that the fact that when I finally make it through the line the teller will often lack the skills or training to provide the service I need so they'll tell me to wait in another line. The atm machines in front are often out of service. When they are in service, the FHB format has many redundant steps that make a simple cash withdrawal take much longer than it should. Every single time I log in to a FHB atm it says please wait while we update your personal preferences. Then it asks me what language I would like to use. You'd think that would be part of a bank's attempt to understand my personal preferences. This bank doesn't seem to care much about its clients. read more

Every time I come in here and I hope I'm wrong about this being the slowest bank and I never am. It's amazing how long the line can get before they start moving their hands faster or doing things faster. Don't understand the set up of the renovated bank. Only 2 tellers and the line goes out the door. Be prepared to spend 15 minutes or more to do a simple transaction. There are other people working there, the lines are long, but yet only 2 tellers are open. Inefficiency at it's best. I think they will lose customers. Highway robbery with the fees. Lines is so long for any banking needs. Just found out the other day, they charged me $10 for dormant fee in July and so I went today to close my account and I found out they charged another $10 for this month. Now, I have been with them for over two decades. This is too crazy. My account have not even been inactive for two years. Was told that the fee will continue to apply until the account is out of funds or overdrawn. Is that legal and it is like the bank using the fees to completely overtake all of your money. I will not go back with them ever again! Also, the bank app is doing an upgrade and will not even work for 3 days. read more

Not a fan of the new location. They built a new building right next to the street. Beautifully made, but it looks smaller then the original location. I am not sure what the point of this was when they were already in a good location. There is a long line coming out of this bank and it takes a long time to get to a teller. I don't understand the way the teller counters are set up. There is only two tellers all the way in the back, and then there are maybe one or two people on the left side who sometimes assist customers. Now a days most banks have open counters so there isn't much privacy between you and the other teller and their customer. I also don't understand why the bank closes so early. Maybe because of COVID 19? But still yet, for those of us getting off of work, it would be nice to get to the bank. I wish they would stay open til 6:00 pm like before. Overall the inside of the bank is nice, but I don't like the long line and the way things are done. Good customer service from the employees, so this is why I'm rating a 2. I do like that there is 24/7 ATM machines. But if I had more choices, I would go to another First Hawaiian Bank location. This one for me is the closest to home. read more

If i could give this location 0 stars I WOULD. I went in today to see if i could get my car refinanced & bank teller decides to tell me "Why, you have a good payment already?" I was stunned at what she said because that is so rude to tell someone that! Obviously I know my own bill & if i want to refinance it, it is for my financial reasons. It is not my fault I got a car with an affordable payment if it is my choice go refinance my car THAT IS MY CHOICE. And she repeated herself, and I told her well i have a lot of bills! You don't know someone's life or what they deal with! This bank teller was horrible and RUDE! I couldn't believe what she had said and actually just walked out and left! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! HORRIBLE! This branch is terrible. Always a long line and only one or two bank tellers working. Currently at FHB Mililani now (3/22/23) and one bank teller is working with a line of at least 6 to 7 people deep. However, another worker feels its more important to blow up balloons and set up decorations instead of helping people. read more

Horrible customer service. Employee Cierra was talking and laughing incredibly loud at the front lobby for a good 30 minutes until we were called upon to be helped. Horrible service to get a quick fix on my account. Waited an extra 30 minutes for her to finish talking story. Pissed. This branch is lousy, there is ALWAYS a line! Just two tellers who spend more time talking story, LOUDLY! You'll see other staff walking back and forth trying to look busy, how about jumping in and helping out? Recently I had a problem using the ATM, there was an error message that read, "unable to process,,,," I was more curious than alarmed and the branch was very busy but I stood in line. Our company banks with FHB and this is the only branch in Mililani. Since the new location opened up lines seem like they're forever long. Wait times for a teller is about 5-10 min on a good day. The 3 stars are just because the people are pleasant and looks like most of the workers are trying their best. Although, management needs to re-evaluate responsibilities or something because when you have a line all the way to the entrance which is about 8 people deep with 2 tellers addressing the line and the other 2 people sitting at their desks just looking at the line from their screens. Makes me wonder if customer service is a priority. I would think that they would want to at least help people with check deposits at least to get some movement happening, or something. read more

No stars if I could ! My husband and I went in on April 11 to do A SIMPLE request ! All it gave us was fear, anxieties, anger, headache , frustration etc......:( We we're not told that canceling something would prevent us from using our debit card.... Forever ! And to add insult to injury employees from this location and their customer service line (844-4444) and card service gave attitude when we were trying to get to the bottom as to why! When ! Where ! Is this how you treat your long long long time customers? They ack as if it was our fault. Whomever my husband was talking to at your card service was very rude and sounded very unprofessional. She talked with a condescending tone!!! That's the negative vibe my husband was getting. Luckily, I wasn't the one she was talking to! Then someone called me but I was at work and couldn't pick up but left a message again trying to explain and in the end she said she was going to call the other number they have on file .... Well, they did not .... Which left us wondering ... SMH We are just getting the run around as if it was our fault that our card was canceled. All we hope was letting us know and exposing to us in the Beginning.... You put your trust in your banks thinking they know better but after going through this unnecessary stress makes you rethink about this establishment/company .... very inefficient.... I got Junelyn at the counter and she denied my car loan payment due to my last name change (previously got married). Nissan is aware and changes will be made, meanwhile my last payment was taken no issues so this time around to be denied with accurate identification and other criteria's is upset and a waste of time. 13 days ago i tried to get an online access to my account. Since it's a business account you have to download a form and send it in. YOu can go into a branch where they will tell you you have to do it online. I have filled out the form and emailed it to the address on the form. No response at all. No letter at all. 9 days later I email again. No response no letter. 13 days later I email again. Guess what?? If you want a bank that is helpful and know current technology -- its not this one. read more

My experience with this bank is only with 2 car loans I've had, no other accounts. My interactions here are very brief. I'm always able to find convenient parking spaces. I never encounter any long lines. If it's a busy time, I have no problem filling out my express envelope and dropping my check off. At one point it did get a bit confusing when I would over pay on my monthly car note... sometimes I needed to fill out two forms, one for the monthly payment and another for principal. Other times it would be accepted on my original book ticket. Lately I think they've cleared it up and finalized the payment and principal to go on my original book ticket. So that's less hassle for me. I'm just like whatev, take all my moneys and be done with me. Every teller I've had has been very efficient and friendly. The branch in general is in a convenient area for me (Mililani Shopping Center, old Jack in the Box side) and is always clean and presentable. No complaints so far and hopefully for the duration of my loan period with FHB! read more

Using a ATM machine without any issues for more than 30 years ended on 12/17/15. On that December day, I tried to make a withdrawal of $200, the only thing I got from the ATM machine was a receipt claiming there was a withdrawal of $200. No kala? ????????????????? Also, back in May 2012, I received a letter stating that my Hurricane Insurance will be terminated. I would leave zero stars for a rating if the system would allow it. I took most of my money out of this bank several years ago due to poor customer service and sent my direct deposits to a credit union instead. I have a savings, checking, and FHB credit card account with this institution. I see now where they only have a one and a half star rating....go figure. This bank branch holds the FHB record for worst customer service and efficiency. I'm the third person in line, thier ATMs are offline, I've now waited 11 minutes for a simple withdrawl, there are three teller windows open, but those gals are all talking story about COVID nonsense, the kids school, or the family's favorite Mom & Pop resturant that closed down. I got pissed and left, disappointed yet again. I felt sorry for the remaining eight people still standing in line as I walked out the door. Granted, I've only got about $2000 in those two accounts, but I'm going in there first thing tomorrow and closing out those accounts due to terrible customer service. My son and daughter and I went in to ask about starting a savings account for us a couple of months ago and we approach a woman sitting at the first desk. She was so rude that we stood up and left. My kids said, "daddy what is bothering that woman." I said, " I don't know but we are not banking here". Had to Yelp about a truly fantastic experience with Chase, the man that assisted me today. I bank with another credit union, but have two auto loan with FHB, due to outstanding interest rates. Long story short, for months, probably a year, I haven't been able to log in and pay online due to their system upgrade. Due to laziness, confusion on the customer service line, and misinformation, I've had to drive in and pay at the bank. By and large, I suck at that, because I travel and honestly, forget to come in....literally every other bill I have is online. Enter Chase. Chase was literally the first guy to offer me automatic withdrawal; I do nothing and it's paid on time every month. Why do I think this is a big deal? Because he decided to ask me questions, figure out a solution, and help. Simple solution to answer a simple problem. Because he decided it was worth 10 seconds of his time to make my day better. Nice facility but the service has gone down hill. I have been driving to Wahiawa but I get better service there. As indicated by others, the wait in the new location takes too long with only two tellers. Also, they have decreased notary except for specific days and by appointment only. We were directed to ASAP to get our notary done. Otherwise, the wait would have been more than a week for an appointment. Changing bank. read more

Being that this is the only FHB in Mililani, they kind of have the monopoly on things. For the most part, this location offers all that you would come to expect as far as service from one of Hawaii's premier banking establishments. Kudos to them on that! I appreciate the helpful attitude that most all of the staff have at this location. Many are very friendly and kind. There have been a few times where I feel that in their friendliness they cross the line with some of the comments that they make towards their customers...Kind of like "OMG, did they really just comment on deposits via the Night Drop?". Wish that they would act a bit more professional at times, but otherwise, I do appreciate the work that they do and the services that they provide. They often have s smile on their faces and you can tell that as a team, they really enjoy what they do and enjoy working with each other. read more

IMHO, a great bank has these key features: 1) no line; 2) happy tellers, and 3) EFFICIENT tellers that can get you in and out faster than it takes for you to get your starbucks coffee. Of course, #3 leads to #1. Im not a regular FHB customer, but when I do need to do teller transactions, I love the Mililani location. Never a line here - I might as well have kept the car running!
