After spending four nights and…read morefive days at Hotel SP34 in October 2021, here's our experience: 1) Location: If you love being close to the tourist attractions and shopping, it's a perfect location. Close to a Metro station, you can take it or walk to Tivoli Gardens and other famous sites. Just a little east of the hotel is a main street with tons of high end shopping and restaurants. My friend and I like more local neighborhoods, so it's not our style, but if you love shopping and tourist locations, it's ideal! 2) Space: It's a spacious hotel that makes good use of the space. There's a large lobby with seats and desks for working. There's an outdoor patio, a rooftop patio, several restaurants, a bar, a gym and a cinema for guests to use. 3) Design: The lobby is designed with quirky paintings and a "Hello Gorgeous" sign in the pink elevator. It's a little trendy, but when you enter the rooms, the design becomes classier. 4) Rooms: For two people, we booked the superior double room and keep in mind it's Europe- the rooms are small! With a smaller bed and not much space to retreat, one of us ended up in the lobby at all times to get the space. 5) Amenities: This is where they shine! In the mornings, they have a table with towels, water bottles and running routes set out. There's free wine from 5pm-6pm and free liqueur from 10pm-11pm daily. Our room came with breakfast and wow! It's in a beautiful space on the basement level and comes with a mimosa bar, a bread area, granola, eggs, sausage, so many good food option. They also have a full coffee area. A few things to keep in mind when staying: 1) Price: Compared to other hotels in the area, it's on the more expensive side. 2) Room: A few things were wrong with our room. The bathroom handle kept breaking off. Also, our shower was slow to drain, often flooding the bathroom after a 5-10 minute shower.

Check in went smoothly and front desk staff were quite nice and helpful throughout our stay. The Standard Double room was good size and very comfortable. It had a small closet (could've used more hangars), a safe, desk and comfy lounge chair. No problems with the AC and we could leave the windows open as our room was located away from the street. The TV was located parallel to the bed so we always had to turn our heads to watch. The bathroom had nice counter space and roomy. We were not a fan of the shower which was the European style with the half glass that allowed too much water to get all over the floor. Breakfast got fairly busy and luckily there were two buffet areas to split up the guests. Breakfast every morning was the same food and after awhile it was a bit disappointing that there was no variety at all during our stay. However, the food was filling. The vegetarian section had an interesting selection that included sandwich meat equivalent, mushroom paste from a tube, hummus, etc. There also was a good selection of non-dairy milks. Laundry area was located in the basement and we had to inform the front desk in advance since these were the same washer and dryer used by the hotel cleaning staff. Each load cost roughly 50DKK so it was not cheap. Detergent was automatically injected into the washer so no need to bring or buy your own. If one opted to skip housekeeping then you got a 100DKK voucher each day to use on drinks or snacks at the bar. One caveat there was always a different person each morning making the drinks at the bar and the espressos tasted slightly different each time. Also one day it came in a glass and another day it was in a smaller mug. Luggage storage was available and it was up to the guest to bring and retrieve their luggage from the storeroom. Access to the room was via your keycard but of course it didn't work when we came back in the afternoon to retrieve them. The would be a likely return stay if we come back to Copenhagen.

When we checked-in, the front desk staff were friendly and provided us with lots of local tips for our time in the city. They also let us know that for everyday we opt out of room service, we would receive either a voucher for the bar, a discounted hotel bike rental, or a complimentary beauty product. We opted to skip out on room service most days and received a 100 DKK voucher to spend on drinks at the bar, which were very reasonably priced. Our room was cozy, comfortable, and the bathroom was very nice. Though we booked a smaller room we still felt like we had plenty of space for two people, and the room had an AC unit which came in handy on the more humid days. The hotel breakfast was one of the highlights of our stay. I feel like complimentary hotel breakfasts are becoming more and more scarce, so to have a full spread of breads, meats, cheeses, yogurt, fruits, coffee, and tea was super convenient. One of the best features of the Absalon is probably their location, it's walking distance from so many restaurants and attractions (including Tivoli Gardens) and a short 3 minute walk from central station, so getting around was a breeze. I would absolutely stay here again and would highly recommend it to anyone planning a trip to Copenhagen!

Or rather yes but they'd have to charge us an extra 400 kr (!!!) - after we paid for an early check-in on the front end of our already pricey multi-night stay. Strict hotel policy, probably to generate extra revenue. Even an extra 15 minutes would have been a huge help. We were of course not entitled to any special favors and the Manon Les Suites was within their rights but the lack of grace still sullied the end of our guest experience. The staff was so multi-lingual, kind and helpful. The room was cleverly laid out and well-appointed. The jungle pool was amazing and the bar and gym downstairs and the restaurant and roof deck on floor 6 were all beautiful. The location was convenient and walkable to lots (even if restaurants, shops and services were a ways away). We had a great stay until the end when we needed a little flexibility but were shooed out the door. A disappointing end to a an otherwise very pleasant visit.

Not to mention it was really close to Torvehallerne Square, which is around an eight-minute walk from the hotel. I arrived early, before check-in, and the reception staff offered to hold my luggage so I could explore the city. They give you a code and place it in a locked and video-monitored closet down in the basement. It was easy to do and safe for your belongings. After some exploring, I returned to the hotel around 4 PM and finally checked in. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that my single room had been upgraded to a larger room for free. I was stoked to hear that and loved the room and location they gave me. The room was beautifully furnished and was very clean! The only downside is the no AC. The temperature that day was in the low 60s (60-63 degrees). This may sound nice, but it was rather toasty in my room. They had a standing fan that, unfortunately, did not rotate, but it helped somewhat. They give you very heavy-duty duvets that are better for winter weather, but thankfully, I opened some of the windows in my room, which made it more bearable to sleep at night. The staff here was so friendly and accommodating. It's very close to plenty of sights, attractions, and restaurants. I would definitely stay here again. It's a beautifully decorated hotel, with lovely rooms and an excellent location.

First, the hotel is located on a great neighborhood in Copenhagen close to everything you want to see as a tourist. There is a food market across the street and a metro station a couple blocks away. The hotel is a boutique hotel and even though there were some people checking in when we arrived, we were checked in pretty fast and our room was ready for us. The bar/ lobby area is small but well thought out. There are cool and comfy chairs with small rugs for warmth in the winter. The restaurant is to the side and the orangerie was a plus. Beautiful, cozy area full of hygge for Danish and tourist alike. It's warm in the winter as it is enclosed and full of lanterns and plants where you can enjoy a drink or dinner. We didn't try the breakfast as it was outrageously expensive! ( as it later everything in Copenhagen), but with so many great restaurants in CPH there's no reason to. The room was great. We had a small suite and we loved it. Complete with seating area, a desk, Apple computer, nice bathroom with tub and shower and 4 post bed representative of their Balinese style it was a great respite after a day of walking around and exploring the capital city. The only minuses I can think of are that the room doesn't have AC , ( but it was the winter so not needed) and that the room faced a street and a park. Even though the last days of the years there was not a lot of traffic and it was quiet,after the 3rd of January we could definitely hear the traffic firm the street so we kept the windows closed. In the summer, however, I could see how this could pose a problem. Another issue was the hair dryer: obviously you have to was your hair, and it was the winter so no way I could go out with my hair wet in the cold so drying was needed. What I didn't get is that damn dryer!! It was small and it had only one button which you had to keep pressing and couldn't let go of in order to keep the dryer on! So your finger would get tired obviously and the dryer would keep turning off. So on/ off, on/off, on/off.... you get the idea... that's a lot of power consumption! Not very green or sustainable is it now??? Another minus would be the front desk people. I did find the Danes a bit cold and standofish but front desk people need to be nicer to clients. The bartenders at the bar by the lobby however were super nice The roof top spa access was included with the small suite so we took advantage of it. In the winter roof top is closed but I can't imagine a lot of people there in the summer as it is quite small. Cute though! Good view The sauna and steam room were nice and there was only a couple people there so it was perfect for us. There's also a cold water bucket but it was way too cold to try that. Overall a great stay, would stay here again in the same room. We had a great time!

It's such a cute little hotel that is owned by a non-profit that serves sailors. She told us so much of the history of the hotel, so it just made the stay more special. It started as a safe place to stay for sailors and morphed over time to become what it is. She shared her knowledge of sites to see. The location was absolutely 5*. Look out the window and you see a postcard view of Copenhagen that everyone thinks of. The room itself wasn't fancy like a Ritz, but the cozy boutique atmosphere makes up for all that. The room was nice and clean, had a comfortable bed, lots of windows that open up to fresh air. It turned out there was a downside to that as well. People were out all night, so we could hear all the drunken singing in the street through the night, but that was not the fault of the hotel. Maybe the beer brewers, but not the hotel.

The most important feature of a hotel is a comfortable bed and quiet room. We were pleased when we had rooms facing the inside courtyard (instead of the noisy street) but very early in the morning, we were rudely awaken to sustained loud clattering over cobblestones. The next most important feature is wifi internet: the wifi internet was spotty and kept dropping for 1.5 hours and then went down completed for over 1.5 hours and then we gave up; we reported it and it was not fixed. We stayed in 5 hotels across 5 cities in 3 countries and this was the worst hotel considering the cost. Their cancellation policy was not aligned with the other hotels (2 day cancellation vs. 1 day or same day cancellation). We stayed here based on the stellar reviews but were very disappointed. The hotel is located right on the Nyhavn canal in the heart of what had to be the most touristy area. It is a haul to get to the Little Mermaid or any good food. The beds are comfortable with a teeny bathroom (what you might expect on a cruise) with no counter space. There is 1 small Sony TV in 1 room with very little storage space. The included breakfast was good with cheese, cold cuts, cereals and breads (but in comparison to the other 4 Scandanavian hotels it was actually the least varied and Spartan). Don't make the mistake of staying here. You can get a better quieter hotel for the money!
