I was soooo excited about staying here because of its great location (Nyhavn st.) with the iconic colorful buildings and beautiful canals. The pictures of the hotel room made it look cozy and chic. We first arrived at 11PM and found a 15 minute parking spot right in front of the hotel. Past a certain time, they lock the entrance and you either open with your room key or you need to ring the doorbell. I wish I could remember the staff members names :( they were all so sweet and helpful! From giving us a small tour, taking us to the elevator and someone waiting in the cold to help us park the rental, these people are just awesome. I personally thought the people we encountered in our short stay were very sweet. People smiled back :D that does not happen at home. LOL. P.S parking is $40 USD The rooms are even more beautiful in person. We got a basic room because it was a short stay and our flight was the next day at 12PM. The water was warm compared to what we were using the days prior in Italy. The bed was A+. There's a stocked mini fridge and a couple of snacks (not free) but it helps for any midnight munchies. We ended up driving up to Mcdonald's. Hear me out... If you feel like the chicken nuggets have never tasted the same than before in the US, TRY IT OUT IN COPENHAGEN. Beautiful large, well lit lobby area where they serve an amazing brunch in the morning. I would recommend staying here for the brunch alone. Rooms were really nice, bed comfy. And finally, on my way out - (this was almost 2-years ago so apologize for late review). But when I was checking out Copenhagen was supporting the Tour de France, and a major part of the city was closed to road traffic. I had to get the the ferry terminal (to take the ferry to Oslo - which I highly recommend) And the concierge personally helped me with my bags, and walked me to the subway station and made sure I got on the correct train. During my recent visit, there was construction happening directly above my second floor room and it started at 7AM. When I asked the front desk, they were quick to apologize and offered breakfast which was nice. Apparently, the construction was not suppose to begin until 8AM, but it started at 7AM (at least above my room). At least I had to get up around that time, but the noise was shrill and unpleasant. Also, my room was exceedingly warm even with A/C running all night. I'd try the Skt. Petri again, but check to the status of the construction project. 3 stars during my visit, would expect it to be higher next time.

Bad enough to allow yourself to get hacked. But then they took three more days to warn everyone to the phishing. Not cool. Needless to say, we canceled our reservation with them and will stay vigilant to our credit activity.

Best of all is Valentina, the front desk host. She's very helpful, always smiling, and very friendly. Kudos for having such a fabulous host who seems to work tirelessly'. Super impressed! It takes a 20-minute metro ride from this hotel to Stroget or Christianhavn. However, it is only 10 minutes taxi ride from the airport and one metro stop away from the Bella Center. So it depends on the goal for your stay. I am sure you can get a hotel in the city center with much less space.

Andrew mentions "an amazing gym" but the gym (at least when we were there) is NOT part of the hotel (it's attached to the hotel) and guests do not automatically have access to it. I don't know if this is a change between when he was there in 2024 and when we were there in September of this year. Like many of these fancy hotels, the lobby is very pretty. However, it's a weird hotel. They don't have a main desk. Instead, they "encourage" people to do self-check in, even to extent that they make their own room keys! They have a bunch of kiosks to do this. As an alternative, they have a people with tablets that can check you in (which we did). However, it's the room that really bothered me. Let's start with something important to all guests: toilet paper. Well, not the toilet paper itself, but the lack of even ONE backup roll. This is not something you want to discover. When I called down to the desk (or operator), I was told that I needed to pick it up myself. There were no tissues. There wasn't any folder or information about the hotel. Instead you can scan a QR code, but that only takes you to their very unhelpful website (which stated that their restaurant, Blue Elephant, was closed -- it was open!) There was no clock, no space for clothes. Our view was the top of the attached casino -- ugly as sin. In short, the room was pretty bad.

The not so good - Housekeeping was very hit and miss. On my last day housekeeping came at 6:00pm. Sometimes toiletries were restocked, sometimes not. - Location - meh, close'ish to downtown but there are better hotels actually downtown. The Bad - The lounge bar/restaurant - Food was very subpar. Service just downright sucked. Took over 1 hr for an app, 90 mins to get a main. And it was barely edible. Really frustrating after a long day of travel - Never asked if I wanted to authorize my card at check in which I am very used to. So when I tried to charge a drink to room I then had to go to reception (spent 10 mins in line) to ask to authorize my card so I could do room charges - Elevators cannot cope when there is a conference going on in the hotel. Be prepared to ride up to get down. - Overall customer service. Calling down to reception/guest services was pointless. Never answered. Other - The staff when you did interact seemed overwhelmed and under trained.

When searching for hotels in Copenhagen, staying in City Center and near a Metro is crucial. I researched Wake Up carefully and had to weigh the pros and cons. Overall, it was a great stay and it offered my two must haves. However, there is definitely room for improvement. Here's a summary: Pros: 1. Conveniently located near Copenhagen Airport: 30 minutes from airport by Metro( yellow line, eight stops), the stop is Kongens Nyrtov. If by Uber, 15 minutes @$30 2. In City Center, thus, you are in walking distance of numerous landmarks: Nyhavn, Radhuspladsen, Tivoli Gardens, to name a few 3. Check in is a breeze, you can do so by QR code or friendly staff 4. Numerous options of dining nearby from takeout to fine dining 5. The neighborhood, Kongens Nyrtov, very safe which is important when you are traveling. The area is bustling all day, there are always people coming and going 6. There are 2 Metro stations, Kongens Nyrtov and Marmorkirken, @7 minute walk from hotel. Both stations, immaculate, busy and elevator access Cons: 1. Room: this is dorm living; small room, small bathroom, no closets, small desk, uncomfortable chairs. However, bed is extremely comfortable and I used the big bed drawer that stored comforter as my clothes "closet". The shower temperature takes a while to get to the right heat 2. No frills: no fridge, no coffee, no toiletries noise level is okay 3. Cleanliness: in certain countries, you need to ensure your room is cleaned due to water conservation, thus here you need to email the days you want room cleaned,otherwise... 4. Value: tough one because location is key but hotel is overpriced. I have stayed in better hotels that charged less than this. My thought process for a short stay: as long as room is clean because I'm only using it to sleep and shower, I'm good. However, when I arrived at 9am, 6 hours before check in, they had rooms available but I paid a little more for an "upgrade" and to check in early. 5. Miscellaneous: services are limited such as if you need to convert money they do not offer it. Would I stay again..if this was the only hotel available then yes. However, next time it's a houseboat for me.

This was the worst hotel experience I ever had which…read moreincludes staying in youth hostiles when I was a student. The room was not clean and was never serviced throughout the five nights stay. If you needed towels or toilet paper a request made at the front desk was never delivered and you had to physically go down there and fetch it yourself. What is it that you actually pay for? There is also a scam going on. Since most US flights arrive in the morning you cannot get the room until 3pm. And I mean 3pm no matter if the room is actually ready. But the very "helpful staff" will quickly offer an immediate room for an extra fee per night and if you refuse will make certain you dont get the room before 3pm.
