Summary: This is my review as a curly-hair gal. My rating is for poor communication about running an hour late on the appointment time, not booking me with a curly-hair stylist, and not informing me that I wasn't booked with the curly-hair stylist. Had there been more transparency, I would have known to provide more direction during the hair-styling process. On the positive side, the makeup artist was very kind and helpful (and I thought my friend's makeup turned out fantastic). The Details, If You Want Them: My friend booked the appointments for our bridal party of four women weeks in advance. My friend even made a second phone call on my behalf to make sure they knew I had curly hair, and they told her they had a curly-hair stylist. Fast forward to the day of our appointments. Around 1pm, I was getting worried because my 12pm appointment hadn't started, and I was already overdue for pumping (as in milk for my baby at home, not iron). I wasn't informed that they were running late at any point. The woman who did my friend's makeup was so kind and offered me a place to pump inside in the AC when she heard me asking for my friend's car keys (so I could pump in the car). I'm not sure if they did have a curly-hair stylist, but if they did, they didn't book me with her (and failed to pass this on). Had I known this, I would have known to provide extra guidance. It didn't help that I was turned away from the mirror the whole time too. Instead, I put too much trust into the assurance that they had a curly-hair stylist and assumed my stylist had tricks up her sleeve (like product/water) when she first started brushing my hair dry because she was trying to give it more length. After that, my hair got too frizzy to style curly, so she ended up having to straighten it. I had really wanted my hair to be curly and thought that was evident during the booking process and also when I showed up with a picture of a curly hairstyle. The price we were quoted when booking was that it would be "$60 and go up based on amount of hair, thickness of hair, and complexity of what you want done." I was charged $100 (the same was true for the rest of the bridal party) plus tip. I assume this was in part because my hair was straightened. I also had several inches of split ends, so that didn't make it easy on my stylist either (sorry about that, baby at home = haircut has not been on the priority list). However, I really did not want my hair straight. My hairstyle, while it looked nice, did not look like the photo I brought in. I didn't have time for them to fix it because they started late, we had a wedding to get to, and at this point, they would have had to wash my hair, dry it, and start all over again. If my appointment had started on time, maybe I would have requested this, but there just wasn't time at this point. I wish there had been clearer communication on the salon's part about my appointment running late and how much experience my stylist had with curly hair. I do not think they should have charged $100 + tip when I requested a curly-hair style and ended up with straightened hair. read more

So, I'm trying to be chill about my hair cut. I understand hair grows back. But I'm pretty embarrassed and insecure about how I look after this. I came in and asked for a trim and like.. a little freshening up. My hair was completely chopped up. I was in here for AN HOUR AND A HALF. The longest hair cut of my life. Like it's soooooo short. I did not ask for a couple of inches to be removed. I'm so stressed about it at this point. And then I was shocked to find out that what was supposed to be a trim up, was going to cost me $50.... like seriously?? $50? So now I'm out fifty dollars, and one mental breakdown. Kim is a very sweet girl. I'm assuming she's new since she had people supervising her. And I know Texas isn't requiring masks any more, but it's a bit unnerving to be in a pretty busy business and not one mask in sight except for my own. Now I look like I'm permanently ready to speak to a manager. EDIT: Tried to get on the phone with a manager multiple times. No one called me back. I called around closing time and was told the manager must have "dipped out". Real nice! Will update when I get ahold of someone on Tuesday (it's now Saturday). EDIT: Finally got on the phone with the owner of this salon and she YELLED at me for leaving this review on Yelp. Literally YELLED at me for like a whole five minutes and would not let me get a word in. Did not give a single shit about rectifying this situation. Literally sat there and got yelled at. She apparently went through my Yelp reviews and accused me of "bashing every place in town??" Lmao. If you actually "did your research", you'd see that the majority of my reviews are five star reviews. I do not enjoy having to leave bad ones. Of course I'm going to review your business on Yelp!! Do not go to this salon. Because if, god forbid, you have a bad experience, you will also get yelled at for talking about it! I moved to California and I still only get my hair done (for 5 years now) when I visit Texas annually because there is no one better than MEGAN. She and her sisters, mom, niece, and almost a dozen other girls all work there. They are talented, professional, and accommodating. Each stylist leases their own space so they are motivated to do exceptionally and rely on consistent clients to do well. I have NEVER been disappointed. Megan has done many cuts and colors and every time I've shown hey a picture of what I want, the results are even better than the pic! Today I was getting my hair done and noticed they'd added a nail tech. I needed to get my nails done but was skeptical because I'm very picky. Megan recommended I try him out and ALAN was exceptional!!! He does a lot of powder dip but I just wanted a polish manicure and he was incredible. I chose a gorgeous polish for New Year's and he showed me this amazing thing called the cat eye effect (apparently this is getting popular but I had never heard of it) and it's gorgeous. I have been going to First Impressions for my hair cuts and color for 4 years. I drive up from Waco because of the fantastic results I get. Rosemary is the best stylist ever, as are her daughters and staff. The salon is clean, all Covid precautions in place, and it's such a welcoming, relaxing atmosphere. They make me feel like family. BUT this experience has definitely NOT been the best. i booked my appointment in may- with MEGAN. so i waited almost two months for this appointment, JULY 6th.2021 ( HER PIC ON THE LEFT JULY 6TH AND MY HAIR TODAY- JULY 18TH ) i went in to start the process of getting grey hair, so she did a balayage on me - made me as light as possible and then toned me with grey toner ..i went home very happy! even bought a mask that she recommended that was also an extra $27 for my hair. A WEEK,i started noticing my hair was a different shade. even after using the stuff she suggested and i had bought, so i contacted her about it & was told to keep using the products and that "it should help" and the "only thing" she could do was tone it again and it was another $60, she also went on about how everyone's hair was different- WHICH i get, but no ones hair should've washed out AFTER a WEEK. SO, THIS week i was visiting with my aunt & mom who i had showed when i first got it done- THEY asked me why my hair looked so different, and told me that it looked dark and brassy. so now i know i'm not crazy and my hair REALLY does look bad. sad. My aunt told me i should contact her about it again but instead let my husband do it.. so he did the next day. (this morning) he texted her about it and told her whats going on and then later she texted saying - how " hard it is to believe my hair has changed that much " & that " she can't promise that my hair will stay that way " but she can definitely charge me $$ for my hair to go to waste after a week? I have never done any of the massage/spa packages but regularly drive from Frisco, TX down to Burleson to see my girl Brittany for a cut and color!! Brittany is always so keen on what her clients want and are looking for and she is QUICK! Brittany can take blonde hair to dark chestnut brown and make it look like you were a brunette the whole time! Brittany is also very good at giving cut and color advice too. Mieko is beyond amazing. Not only does she take her knowledge to the next level by taking extra classes, but she enjoys it! She has such a passion as a hair artist. She amazed me on day 1 when I came In with a pair of extensions I needed matched to my real hair. She took a glance at the extensions and said okay, let's do it!! She blew me away at how perfect the color came out. It matched to a T!! Second time I came in, I wanted more blonde. So... she made me more blonde! Gave me a conditioning treatment and did not damage my hair further. She knows what she's doing. She took this journey and ran the whole way! She funny, trustworthy, honest and knowledgeable. She taught me things I would have never known if it wasn't for her. My hair always comes out exactly the way I want it. She LISTENS! She is always going to be the stylist for me. Literally don't know what I'd do if I hadn't met her. After leaving my home town I searched 2 years to find the right person. So glad I was pointed in her direction. My Bridesmaid and I came in to get a make-up trial done for my wedding in October, I chose this place because of the salon experience, but I was not pleased with the outcome of my experience at all. Brittany was 15+ minutes late to our 9am appointment, and never apologized for arriving late. We asked for a very natural look that we had pictures of, and our faces ended up looking like drag queens getting ready for a show. We explained the color scheme of the wedding multiple times and she still used colors that clashed with said color scheme. Our make-up looked extremely unnatural, and heavy. Our eyebrows were so thick and a drastically different color than our natural eyebrows that it made us feel self-conscious. She used fake eyelashes that would have been super pretty if they were not glued a centimeter away from our natural eyelashes. During our trial we overheard Brittany talking to another stylist about poor customer reviews, which is just unprofessional. When our time was up, she rushed us out for her next customer even though she was late for us. I paid $60 to go home and immediately wash my face, I felt embarrassed just walking out of the salon looking like a train wreck. Furthermore, I would not use Brittany for make-up because instead of beautiful I felt self-conscious and I just wanted to cry. This has added way more stress to the wedding planning and has added more expenses to my wedding budget. I would have given 0 stars but that is not allowed. read more

From the moment I called she accommodated me from the picture I saw online to the moment I left - gave me beautiful highlights and was priced well. When she showed her pictures of what she wanted, Trisha talked her out of it and basically sent her out the door with the same haircut, only texturized. I had permanent eyeliner tattooed on my upper and lower eyelids by Jennifer Dycus. She did an amazing job. She very accurately described what the procedure would be like and worked very quickly. She was very knowledgeable and ensured that the whole experience was as painless as possible. The procedure room was cool and comfortable (with the soothing sound of the ocean playing in the background) and everything was clean and sterile. I highly recommend her and will come back for the necessary touch ups when needed. I booked my appointment well in advance since I needed a Saturday appointment, and I knew there would be a wait. I bought a NOW Groupon for a Microdermabrasion and a 30 minute mini facial for First impression Salon Spa. Immediately upon purchasing the NOW Groupon I call the salon to make an appointment. I told the lady who answered the phone that I had purchased the Groupon and I wanted to make the appointment. I was put on hold for several minutes and when the lady finally came back to the phone she said "Sorry we don't have any appointments for 5 days" The point of the NOW Groupon is to use it on the day you purchase it. I should have known something was wrong when they did not have any reviews on Yelp. So i guess I have to go to Groupon and get my money back! I purchased a groupon several weeks ago for permanent eyeliner. I scheduled the appointment 3 weeks out. When I called today to confirm my appointment, I was told that the girl who does the permanent eyeliner no longer worked there and that they could not honor my groupon. First Impressions Salon is a great place to get a your hair cut. It has a very fun and cool atmosphere. I wear a stack and First Impressions has been the only place that could cut it and it look really good. I found this Salon 5 years ago and would never go any way where else. I consistently get stopped in the grocery store or out shopping in Burleson and am always asked "where do you get your hair cut".
