The woman who helped me said she couldn't cash it. I also brought both IDs with my previous and current names. I made sure I called the bank before going to confirm they'd be able to cash it. She said I would have to get it reissued when I went in, she even confirmed this information with her manager. But that's not what US Bank customer service told me. She also mentioned that if I had opened the account with my previous name she'd be able to help me. Waste of time & was provided different information. Also lost out on $50 from my check because I had to go to a check cash place.

So we went through the paperwork of requesting the transfer, but because the account wasn't set up, they requested a check. And of course, the check got lost. The receipt of the reissuance took just over a month. Did i receive a call that the check arrived? No. They sent an email. I called the bank,which surprisingly went through because most calls just go through and was road I'd get a return call in 30 minutes. Nope. I was at the bank 40 minutes later, a half hour before closing and was told there wasn't enough time to set up the account and deposit the check. I would not take no for an answer, so the manager told the banker to open the account. Then of course, the system failed. They couldn't open the account. They asked me to come back the next day at 10:30. At 9:56 the next morning, I received a call that the system was working so the 10:30 appointment still stood. I waited in the lobby for 5 minutes before the manager came up to me saying "We need 10 more minutes." She left, then came back saying, "So how is your dayvso far?" Really? Yes, the staff is always pleasant, but the service is as another reviewer stated "sub-par."

HomeStreet Bank bought our local Union Bank. thank God we moved our savings account to another bank…read morebefore HomeStreet officially took over. We couldn't close the checking account because of direct deposit from social security couldn't transfer to new bank until March. Can't get anyone on the phone. I tried to get online and register, as my Union Bank credentials didn't work. They claim I already have an online account when I put in my account number and other identifiers. Then pops up with 2 phone numbers for me to choose for verification, neither of which I have ever seen or owned. Have no idea if I have money or not still in my checking account. Going in there tomorrow to get everything but $100 out as social security said to wait to close the account until we get our March checks in case there is an issue transferring to new bank. Horrible bank and absolutely no customer service.
