Chris saved our lives last week. We have a somewhat obscure LG built-in that started leaking water inside the freezer... icicles everywhere, 3" thick ice shelf in the bottom, water leaking out onto my wood floor. No bueno! LG was worthless as the machine is 5 years from purchase and out of warranty. Once LG learns this they literally just stop talking to you. Had an LG "service" person tell me they couldnt help me and hung up. Wow! They couldn't even help find a technician in Huntington... total dead end. Found Chris on Yelp... he called me right back, kept his appointment, identified the issue was a broken condensation heating unit, ordered the part, came back right on time and installed it... super reasonable pricing. My experience with Harley was horrible!!! I paid him almost $400 to fix my washing machine. He kept making repeated excuses about parts delay and dragged his feet for two months. He couldn't fix the issue and blamed it on faulty parts. He promised a refund and never provided a refund. He ghosted me like he ghosted other reviewers. It's a shame!! Harley came out to fix our dryer. He identified what he thought was the issue and we proceeded to order the part. When the part arrived he replaced it but the dryer was still not working. He then went ahead and ran some more "diagnostics" and told us we needed to order a different part. At this point we had invested about $200 for the parts, diagnostic and labor. He told us the parts would take some time which we were fine with waiting, but he kept giving us excuses and delaying things even further. He essentially ended up not following up and ghosting us despite our multiple and many attempts . We still have not been able to get a response from him and ultimately took the loss. What kind if human being does this? This is a horrible business to deal with and I highly recommend that you take caution before proceeding with this business. read more

He ordered & installed the wrong parts that didn't correct the problem (which I paid for) After waiting a couple months for new parts (with Little communication) I ended up just buying a new fridge. We called for help with a problem with our washing machine after having been happy with the help we received from First Source in fixing the machine in the past. Chris and a gentleman named Harley responded. We paid for the three parts that needed to be ordered (a mistake we subsequently learned) and waited until they arrived for a second visit to install them. Harley came back. He installed the first set of parts (agitator dogs) no problem. He had significant problems installing the second part which was a clutch (which may have caused him to forget about the third part, the replacement drainage hose we paid for). He then told us we needed additional replacement parts (including a new transmission and possibly a new motor) in order to finish the job. He also suggested we just buy a new machine. During this process, we learned that the business had changed hands in the interval between the first and second visits; Chris has apparently retired and moved to Las Vegas (best wishes Chris if you read this). The name may be changing to Premier Appliance Service based on the way our credit card was billed. Anyone interested in hiring First Source may want to check the reviews for Premier. You may also want to check licensure with the California Department of Consumer Affairs for either company: https://search.dca.ca.gov/ Harley left the machine, which used to work but not well, in a disassembled state (so it no longer worked at all). The idea was he was going to get back to us with firm costs on the new repairs/parts he said the machine needed. We never heard back from him. We called another repair company. It's technician skillfully re-assembled our washing machine with no problem. Now it is working great (no need for the costly new transmission Harley said it needed). Needless to say, we were very disappointed in our experience with First Source/now Premier Appliance Repair. We basically had to pay twice to get our machine working. read more

I first started working with First Source Appliance with Chris years ago and it was sold to Harley. Harley did two good jobs for me but the last time I hired him he tried to rip me off. It was a Viking stove he needed to order the parts for $1500 he said he needed to be paid upfront. I trusted him so I gave him the money. He came to the house installed the part didn't put the door of the stove back on crooked and the part didn't work. He said he's sending it back for a refund and going to get it from a different vendor. He never ordered the part from the other vendors and just kept my money. I asked him for proof that he ordered the part but he didprovide it. He told me that he would refund me but he never did so I had to call my credit card company and file a charge back and dispute the transaction. He then tried to fight the dispute saying that he did fix the oven straight up lying. They ended up giving me my money back. We got a new stove. read more

Chris was very friendly and came out right when we called. We had a leak on our washer and he found the problem right away. It took a while to get the part in, and with the holidays it took some time to come back and finish the repair. He showed me the issue and had it fixed quickly. Jeremy was super professional, came out on time and was a generally a good dude. He inspected my ice maker took his time and explained the process as he went. That said, not thrilled to pay 130$ to be told.my.ice maker may be broken...I already knew that , that's why I called. 24 hours later when ice wasn't cranking , it would be another 30$ in labor to install a new one plus the part . He did call me and offer to help walk me through installing the new part which I bought from eBay. My elderly mom ordered a part for her dishwasher in March 2021. Never received part and was charged $200. She has made several attempts to contact him phone, email and no response. On my mom's behalf i called him and still no response. My parents live on a fixed income and $200 is a lot to them. All you have to do is respond and refund their money. read more

If I could have put zero stars I would. Because of a schedule conflict last year, the repair to my stove wasn't completed. My landlord approved/paid for the repair. Since last year, I've called multiple times to get my oven repaired. Now they are saying that they don't make the part and that Chris is currently speaking to my property manager about a replacement. In speaking with my landlord, who is the property manager, she had no clue about any of this. My landlord's husband passed away who usually handles the property repair coordination. My dryer stopped working last night and I called Samsung this morning to troubleshoot the problem. After a few minutes with customer service they said I needed a service call. They said it would be 1-2 business days before I would receive a call from the repair company to schedule an appointment. Not wanting to wait that long, I called the company myself. Their phone rang and rang and no one ever picked up. I decided that I needed to find a technician on my own. My first stop was YELP. I read reviews on many companies and decided to call Chris at First Source Appliance. I left a message on his voicemail and I also filled out the "request a quote" form on Yelp. Literally within minutes Chris called me back. He said he was booked up for the day, but since he was in my area (only 7 minutes away) he would come by and take a look at my problem. He diagnosed my problem quickly and ordered the part. He showed me a photo of the broken wheel thingy to let me know what was being repaired. He will be back tomorrow to fix my dryer. I looked at my phone and it was exactly 31 minutes from the time we first spoke to the time he was leaving my house. I am beyond thankful and satisfied for his help. I already added his phone number to my phone for any future repairs our family may need. read more

Chris came out ASAP to repair a hose on my washer. He was not only super nice, but beyond fair too! We discovered that there were more problem hoses and he actually gave me my check back for the hose and repair he had already done, and told me to just write a new check for the service call only, until I decide if I want to fix the other issues or get a new washer. If I decide to get a new washer, I owe nothing more. How nice is that? I would absolutely recommend Chris to anyone who needs appliance work done by a fair and ethical person. BEWARE! We paid First Source Appliance $995 for our oven and ice maker parts and service... (mid Oct) he was going to also clean our washer and dryer... as he has done in the past. We were told parts would take about 2 weeks. His office lady was quite rude after a couple of calls at the 5wk mark... Chris never responded to my texts and I finally (in Dec) disputed the credit card charge for my money back. I do feel bad he was in a bad way with the hand surgery but does that mean you never bother to call your clients, sit on their money, and NEVER call them? Nextdoor has been sharing multiple occasions of this happening. Do yourself a favor and loose First Source Appliance's number!! Not cool!! read more

Beware! First Source Appliance is listed as a service provider on the ULine website. Chris Serafini , the owner, came out on a Thursday to repair my ULine ice maker, collected $778, told me it would take a couple days to start making ice and to call on Monday if there were any problems. Either no repair was made or it was the wrong repair but the machine is still not functional. I called first thing Monday and learned Chris had just sold the business and apparently had scammed a number of customers in his final week/s as owner. Unsurprisingly, Chris has not returned my follow up calls or text messages. The new owner says he can't afford to warranty Chris's repairs. I've reported Chris and First Source Appliance to ULine, the CA licensing bureau BHGS/BEAR and my credit card company. read more

Chris came out to check out our non-draining Kenmore HE washer and our non-icemaking Samsung fridge. He got the washer working again (yay) after finding a lost sock in the innards of the washer. The Samsung could not be fixed cuz he says there is no current repair for these danged Samsung refrigerators - design defect? Class Action Suit? Although I did not have a chance to meet Chris because I was working, I did set up the appointment quickly with him and he was very good about communicating before time. Chris really saved me this past Friday! I couldn't be more thankful. I was looking for someone ASAP as my washing machine just went nuts and was leaking water everywhere. In a panic I had just started dialing a few different companies on Yelp and sadly none were of any help. I talked to Chris this morning about my 4 year old Maytag washer. He was very knowledgeable and honest about my specific model. The Good: This place has some of the best service I've had on any repairs. He was early, a hour actually, and had the problem finished in like 20-30 mins. As he was working on the problem we chatted and he gave me some good advice on maintenance and a bit of a money saver, only use a teaspoon of detergent for the front loading high efficient washers. Thanks to a square they take credit cards so paying is super quick and easy. The Bad: There's a $65 house visit charge. Why do people still charge for a house call? I get free pizza delivery, free Amazon shipping, free visits on my cable, gas, termite guy. It just seems like a way to get more money. It should be $65 and applied to the service like auto dealerships. I get it, you don't want to go to a place and have them say no to service and be out money for a trip. The Ben: Chris did waive the labor for installing my part because he feels like it's a defective part and should be replaced anyways.Good for me otherwise a door lock would have went from $150 to $210 for a 7 year old washer which is probably worth $200. Things seem not worth repairing and I should have just replaced it. He also gives a 90 day warranty on parts, most companies give a 30 day so there's that. read more

I rarely write reviews but I do when I come across a person or business that provide Outstanding service. I was thoroughly impressed with Chris with his knowledge, professionalism and character. I have a built in refrigerator that stopped cooling. He quickly diagnosed the issue and explained in detail how to fix the problem. He also explained the pro's and cons of a repair vs a new purchase. He wasn't trying to "sell" me on a repair but gave me a clear explanation of my options. I feel a appliance technician is as important as a good Doctor, dentist or auto mechanic. Trust is of utmost importance. I found Chris through recommendations through the Nextdoor app as well as Yelp. Everything the other reviewers wrote plus more of the same. Nasty Kitchenaid dishwasher wouldn't fill with water to clean, but every other function was working. Chris tried to troubleshoot over the phone Friday to save me a service call. That did not do it over the weekend, so I promised to call again Monday. Jeremy showed up as promised. He figured the problem out in minutes!. No parts needed: no $60 inlet switch & valve assembly or $45 float valve/switch. Jeremy went through all the functions of this computerized nightmare and made sure it was 100%.
