About 10:30pm, I received a phone call from my son, saying that the LG refrigerator had stopped working. The refrigerator is the appliance that we cannot afford to wait to get repaired. However, it was too late in the night to call anyone. But, I told my son to look for a repair company. He had searched on line and found Appliance Medic, with many excellent reviews. The next day, early morning, I went to my son's place to take care of the matter as he had to go to work. Around 6:30am, when I called Appliance Medic, they said that they will be on their way. By 7am, they were in the house. The owner of the company, who came to do the job was very polite. He checked the refrigerator and said that a fuse on the Control Board had burnt out. Unfortunately, LG had purposely built this part to make sure that the entire Control Board should be replaced. There was no way to replace only the fuse on the Control Board. To make the situation worse, the Control Board was not available anywhere in California to purchase right away. It should be ordered from another state, which would have taken at least two business days, with expedited shipping. In other words, we became helpless. However, he was very understanding about my plight. He was confident that he would be able to solve the problem, by soldering and modifying the Control Board, making it possible to replace the burnt out fuse on the Control Board. This was a miracle that he could do, what others would not even try. ( I called other appliance repair companies and found out that there was no way to repair without replacing the entire Control Board which they had to order from out of state. I also read about the horror stories of other owners of LG refrigerators, how they had to go through the same ordeal within 6 months of the purchase of their refrigerators.) He left the house with the Control Board and returned around 11am. He had soldered and modified the Control Board so that the fuse could be replaced. He said that if the fuse gets burnt out in the future, it would be so easy to repair, by just replacing the fuse. I was keeping my fingers crossed, while he was installing the modified Control Board with the newly replaced fuse on to the refrigerator. It worked!!! I felt the priceless value of his service and I was extremely grateful to him. The owner of Appliance Medic, who did this service, is a very creative young man, who is willing to do whatever it takes to complete the job. I am not surprised at all about how he has ended up with so many excellent reviews. I wish him the very best and I am sure that he will build a solid and successful business due to not only his superb business ethics, but also due to his friendly and understanding nature towards helpless customers like me. So, if you or your friends and family have a LG refrigerator, please ask them to contact Appliance Medic, if their refrigerator breaks down. Most probably, they may need to replace the Control Board for about $200, which would take a few days to arrive from out of state. Appliance Medic has the one and only person, who will take the challenge and would repair the Control Board for much less charge, and you will have your refrigerator working, right away. These guys were so great! I'm a helpless female college student and they were so friendly, efficient, and reasonable. So here is my story/situation. Earlier this school year in the fall, one of my roommates accidentally let a screw of some sort fall into our dryer through the lent catcher because for some reason our lent thing is on top of the dryer...haha. Anyway, so every time we used it, it made this god awful noise. Well, eventually we asked our other roommate's boyfriend to see if he could get it out, and he did. About a month passed by and we started to notice that it would get really humid and moist in the kitchen and fog up the mirror when we left the laundry door open and we were running the dryer. However, because we're all busy college girls who know nothing about appliances, we just let it go and kept using it. Then the roommate with the boyfriend moved out, and my best friend moved in. Her dad came over to check out the place after she moved in and she had him look at the dryer. He told her we should probably stop using it because there's a chance it could blow up. But, once again, we just thought her dad was being dramatic and continued to use it. Finally, one night while my other three roommates were home, they noticed a gas smell in the master bedroom and decided to call the gas company. The gas company apparently checked it out and said it was coming from the dryer and we should stop using it because the house almost blew up and we almost all died. About a month has gone by since that happened and I finally got fed up because my roommates' parents all live close enough to where they can just go home and do laundry, but I do not. So I finally went to Yelp and let my fellow Yelpers lead me in the right direction. As usual, I was not let down and found some great repairmen! :) Unfortunately they were stuck in traffic, but when I called to ask why they were 20 minutes late, they were very polite and apologized but they were stuck in traffic, which was incredibly understandable. As soon as they arrived, I told them the above story and they checked it out. Apparently, the only problem was that some line/cable/cord thingie was not connected to the gas thing, which was due to my ex roommate's boyfriend moving it that first time. Because it was such a simple repair, I was only charged $50 as opposed to their minimum of $70. These guys definitely know what they're doing and I'm so glad they were reasonable about their price. They're also really easy talk to. :) I would definitely recommend anybody I know who lives in Orange County to use these guys, because if I ever have a problem with any of my appliances, I will definitely be giving them another call. read more

And I can tell you, they have deserved EVERY positive review and now get another! Lamberto answered the phone, and was so professional, friendly, and clear and was very detailed in his explanations. I called them at 8am and he and Doug were at my house at 3pm as promised (actually, early!) Lamberto also gave me an hour's notice phone call just as I had asked. Upon diagnosing the problem with my fridge (a faulty computer board), they called into their office on speakerphone in front of me, to get a price check on the part. I was given two choices of replacement parts (one generic, one factory) and their two prices, along with a recommendation from them based on their experience. (I had googled the problem my fridge was having before they arrived and suspected the same issue they diagnosed, so I had an idea of the price to replace it). I was pleasantly surprised at their LOW price! I saved at least $100 over other people's reports of what they paid! They also noticed my dishwasher door was broken (I was unloading dishes as they worked) because it squeaked, and they offered to repair it for me as well for a very low price. I hadn't planned on it, but couldn't refuse, and was very impressed by their observance. Meanwhile, they ordered the part for my fridge and explained that because it was already close to the store's closing time (the parts store), they wouldn't be able to pick it up until tomorrow and would have to return. We scheduled for the afternoon the next day, but in the mean time, Lamberto told me how to keep the fridge cool overnight so it did not overheat. The next day, Doug and Lamberto showed up on time again the next day. repaired the computer board and cleaned the coils on my fridge, and Doug repaired and cleaned out underneath my dishwasher. Their price was so immensely fair, I couldn't believe it! As all the other reviews have said, they are honest, dependable, friendly, and so helpful!! These two have to be the BEST repairmen of any kind I have ever dealt with, and I am more than extremely happy to recommend them to ANYONE! A couple of years back my ANCIENT Whirlpool dryer fails. I set it for 30 minutes of drying, but wherever you put it it STAYS. I call these guys, having found them via Yelp and am surprised they have a 5 star rating with over 150 reviews. They show up, open it up, examine and give me the bad news: The switch that operates the timer is broken proper, and Whirlpool don't make the switch anymore, period. He shows me the new switching (newer than 1974 anyway!), and show me how it won't even fit. They're such nice guys about the thing I plead: Come on, can't you rig it with a paper clip or duct tape or something? Well they'll see. So they muck about for another 15 or 20 minutes and tell me they fixed it. I'm stunned! How did you do it, I ask. Well, they took the new switch type, busted off this little plastic thingee here that was getting in the way of installing it, and then bent this part out of the way and so forth. Fixed! I forget the price, but it was WAY over in Reasonabletown. Two years later my fridge develops a bladder problem and starts piddling on the floor every day or two. I look them up on Yelp and it reminds me that I never gave these guys their props for amazing cserve and ingenuity. I mentioned to them that (at that time) ALL their ratings were fives. What's up with that? Yeah, he tells me, and Yelp flags those they consider bogus but the target can actually review them if they like. They tell me that all of THOSE are fives too! You can't get any more impressive than that. I just wanted to say this before they actually show up to do my fridge, as a point of reference. [ Addendum: ] Okay they came to fix the fridge, did a great job. While doing it, he explained to me that it would likely happen again, how to buy the gizmo to fix it at Home Depot and then step by step out to do what he was doing. This, so I wouldn't have to pay him to do it again. It didn't take all that long, maybe 30 minutes. Once he was all done he stated the price. I forget what it was, but because it was so low for what he'd done, I started bitching--but purely as a gag. Okay, he said, and knocked $10 bucks off the price! Hey--I was only kidding! Ah, it's alright, he said, it didn't really take much effort. These guys are simply amazing. I do not believe they can keep this level of service this high forever. Get it while you can. read more

WOW This is the most extremely personable HONEST RELIABLE AND UNDERSTANDING Appliance repair person you could ever want to come to your home. This is the first time that I said to myself I truly was not taken advantage of by a service person. I wish more appliance service persons and companies were like this. Our world would be a better place. I can honestly say I am a very handy person by nature and can almost fix anything in our house....but when it comes to appliances I have to make that call that none of us want to make because as soon as you pick up that phone you have this turning feeling in your stomach that you need to be prepared to loose some hard earned money....well from start to finish Lamberto provided 5 star service. He answered the phone professionally, he was helpful on phone and guess what he was able to come out same day without any hassle and worked around our schedule...he was right on time and even gave a 10 minute out call just to let us know he was coming....now when is the last time a service person showed up on time and even cared to give a 10 minute out call.. So he showed up and was professionally dressed and first thing he did was greeted me and asked if I would like for him to wear booties....ok this is top noch...when is the last time you had a service person even offer to cover their shoes (probably once in a million years). Here is the other part that is going to make his business a huge success....He actually gives a FREE ESTIMATE......YES A FREE ESTIMATE....Also if he thinks it is better to replace your item or repair it he is the person that would honestly tell you and you can trust what he is saying. So in a matter of minutes he diagnosed the exact problem with our washer and offered a great price for service and labor. He asked if we would like for him to repair and gave the exact cost and we said yes and he had the part with him in his truck none the less...He fixed it in a matter of 20 minutes and thanked us for his business. I received a small bonus for work, and decided to treat myself to some new tools... after working in the garage for a few hours, came in to get a drink and the fridge was 78 degrees!! I was really upset, not only did I think I needed a new fridge, but all the food was ruined as well. The freezer was still working, so at least something was okay. I googled 24-hour appliance repair, or something similar and this page was in the top links. After calling the number, Lamberto answered the phone. He walked me through several checks of the fridge, and took down the model number. He was SINCERELY trying to help on the phone, I was thinking... wow, this is different. After he realized the problem was unfortunately going to take some parts, he told me he could come out the same day. He came within 1 hour of our conversation!! He had speculated about what the problem was, and upon arrival confirmed his great instinct. He didn't have the part, it was a Saturday night at 8pm, and Lamberto left to go pick up the part from a part contact in a neighboring city (how is that for service). Upon returning, he laid down a mat to protect the wood floor, and proceeded to replace the defective board in the GE Monogram Fridge. It took him little more than 25 minutes. He then cleaned the condenser behind the fridge, and made sure the whole thing was in tip-top shape. He even wiped down the whole Stainless Steel front so it looked BRAND NEW. After getting up this morning, the fridge is back to 36 degrees, working perfect again. Appliance Medic Service is polite, caring, fair-priced, fast, and overall a fantastic experience...and no joke, my neighbor solicited his service as he was leaving my house, and he fixed the neighbors washer in 20 minutes! (stripped coupling or something). My neighbor told me last night while we were talking.."You really stumbled upon an awesome connection, like having a good car mechanic". I could not agree more. If you have a problem with your appliances, I would absolutely without a doubt recommend this company. read more

Recession or no recession, no one likes to feel taken advantage of and EVERYONE loves service with a value. We are very happy with their service, will use them for all our appliance service needs and would highly recommend. Came home after the Thanksgiving holiday to discover our freezer was no longer working. Everything had gone to mush. The fridge temp wasn't as cool as it should have been either so we needed help quickly. Ironically, the first company I called was registered with the BBB and were not helpful. Charged me to come out and give me an estimate. Then he CHANGED the estimate to a higher amount after taking several cell phone calls and speaking to someone in a foreign language. Awesome! Needless to say he left without my business. Then I was referred to Appliance Medic Service and they helped me right away with an appointment that same day at no charge. They were even willing to come out after hours which I thought was very cool. When they arrived, I met two very friendly, clean and professional men who were told me (in a way I could understand) what was wrong and that I was better off buying a new fridge. They offered to help me find a used one for cheap or if I found one that I liked to let them know so they could search for the same model at a better price. We found a great fridge at an Outlet store and prepaid to have the fridge delivered and installed. Then I called Lamberto Pico (owner) of Appliance Medic Service for a quote to have his team pick up, deliver and install my new fridge and his rate was very reasonable and well below what the store was charging. They showed up on time, installed the fridge with care (several parts had to be removed in order to get it into my home) and because of them, I had my fridge delivered a day earlier. The water dispenser/ice maker on our refrigerator door has been broken FOREVER. A while back, we had someone come out and give us an estimate -- we were told that it would cost us $200 for parts only just to replace the motor (not including labor), so we just left it. We finally decided to fix the issue. We called Appliance Medic Service and were able to get a 5:30 p.m. appointment that same week (which was great since my husband and I both work full time -- we didn't have to take any time off from work to wait for the appliance repair people). Two men showed up, were very friendly and professional, diagnosed (turns out it wasn't the motor at all!) and fixed the problem in just outside of an hour. They also took care of another issue we had been having (the inside door of the refrigerator was getting very hot, and I thought there was a motor or something overheating -- turns out, there was a bunch of pet hair (yuck!) clogging the coils, which they took care of), as well as replaced the water filter. They did all this for less than $150, including parts and labor. My only issue was that our appointment was for 5:30 and they didn't show up until 6:00 p.m. Not a big deal in light of everything else (and, as my husband pointed out, it sure beats the larger companies that give you a four hour window and show up late anyway), but it would have been nice if they had called to give us an updated ETA. This is the only reason I would even consider giving them less than 5 stars. All in all, we were extremely satisfied with the service and would not hesitate before calling them again. read more

If you have problem with your home appliances, I would strongly recommend this company, Lamberto and his assistant Jake were so awsome, they have done a great job in fixing my refigerator, it didn't produce ice for 2 weeks, I have seen so many appliances repairs company, just have to cross my finger and choose one , I was so lucky that I found one that I trusted once I saw them, with a great big smile, they came in and just a few minutes, they would be able to diagnose the problems and at first I thought I have to pay around $100 for the new part, but just as soon as his asssistant put back the old part, he heard a click sound, and they were so honest with their work, they save me money right there by thinking of the other way that might correct the problem without getting the new part. All of the time there, moving in and out the heavy refigerator, it only cost me $40.00 for the service call, and they also guarranty this for 30 days. I was so happy because they just save me a $100.00 there and more so impress with their experiences. The most important in this review is the honesty of their profession, they didn't trick us to get more money like other people I have known, try to get more money by giving all the problems to the problem. After pulling my dryer out from the wall, disconnecting the vent, removing the top and unscrewing every screw I could find, I determined the dryer needed a new fuse, and I had no idea how to install it. I called Lamberto on a Sunday afternoon and he offered to come over that night at 7PM. I ended up scheduling for 10AM on Monday (yes, an actual time, not a 4 hour window like Sears). Ten minutes before 10 Doug called to let me know they were on their way. They arrived on time, checked out my dryer. After inspecting and testing the dryer they found nothing wrong, and the dryer now worked perfectly. (User error may have been the culprit, but I'm not going to admit that.) Now, the thing is, Sears was going to charge me $129 for just the service call. (AMS doesn't charge anything to evaluate a problem in the Orange County area.) Once the redness in my face had subsided I asked them how much it would be (they did replace the top, reinstall the vent, and tighten all the screws for me). Lamberto's reply: "Don't worry about it. It happens." Are you kidding me? An appliance repair service that doesn't gouge you for setting foot in your home! (I ended up tipping them and we called it even.) These guys were great the whole time. Next time one of our appliances goes down these guys get the call, no question. I can't recommend them enough. read more

Now, the thing is, Sears was going to charge me $129 for just the service call. (AMS doesn't charge anything to evaluate a problem in the Orange County area.) Once the redness in my face had subsided I asked them how much it would be (they did replace the top, reinstall the vent, and tighten all the screws for me). Lamberto's reply: "Don't worry about it. It happens." Are you kidding me? An appliance repair service that doesn't gouge you for setting foot in your home! (I ended up tipping them and we called it even.) So I don't normally "yelp" but I will for these guys. Lamberto and Douglas are honest guys that do the job right! I called several places to see how much it would cost to install a dishwasher, microwave, and hopefully knock down a cabinet on top of our fridge so it can slide in. Anyhow, one guy quoted me double what Appliance Medic quoted me for. Lamberto was nice on the phone and wasn't pushy so I decided to schedule an appointment with him. They ran a little late but it's ok, they told us ahead of time :) They also came late into the night, which was OK because we really wanted our appliances installed that night. They worked so hard and when the tube leaked some water, they even wiped my floor :) They were organized and clean about everything they did. They actually couldn't install our dishwasher the same night coz they couldn't work with the part we had so they came back the next morning! On top of that, they were able to take my cabinet down, which saved me from calling a carpenter! We asked them how much, and they said "whatever you felt like" so you know these guys are not trying to rip you off. Call them if you ever need anything repaired with your appliances because I know I will :) They are hardworking, honest, and just nice guys to have around. They work for themselves so you know they take pride in their work! read more
