Like most in healthcare, her staff and she are overworked, underpaid and very busy. Look past the administrative crap and you'll find the best medical care in the area. Dr Bodon is the best for mid-life hormonal care.

She is the main reason I continue to come back, and I trust her medical judgment. That said, the front desk and overall follow-up still need improvement. While phone answering has gotten better compared to the past, there is still a lack of urgency. I left 2-3 voicemails regarding a culture I had done with Biocor and waited about two weeks without a callback. During that time, I called the office multiple times just trying to get an update. Eventually, I went in person, and suddenly the results were available and the prescription was sent to the pharmacy. Unfortunately, I had to go through my symptoms for over 9 days longer than necessary, which was very frustrating. Dr. Bodon herself is great, but better communication, follow-up, and urgency from the front desk and assistants would make a big difference in the overall patient experience.

For three years, I faced a constant struggle with heavy bleeding that didn't seem to stop. It all…read morebegan when I decided to try hormone replacement therapy (HRT) to manage my health issues. Little did I know that this choice would lead to a chain of problems affecting my wellbeing. At first, I dismissed the heavy bleeding, thinking it was just an adjustment phase. I was busy with my work, making calls and ensuring coverage for people. I kept changing sanitary napkins every hour, feeling drained and weak from the non-stop blood loss. The situation was affecting my energy and health, but I carried on. As time passed, the issue became more serious. I visited many doctors, hoping to find answers. But none could figure out what was happening or how to fix it. The heavy bleeding, weight gain, and loss of nutrients were taking a toll on my body and mind. Then, I met Dr. Hicks, a doctor who finally understood my struggles. He spoke with confidence and assurance, saying we would find a solution. This gave me hope and trust in his expertise. Dr. Hicks did a biopsy the results of which led to a plan for a dilation and curettage ( the D&C procedure ). I felt motivated to get better and agreed to the procedure. It happened within a short time, and for the first time in years, the bleeding stopped. I could finally go about my day without feeling faint. Dr. Hicks wasn't just a doctor; he was also a guide who explained my options and the results of the surgery. He showed care and professionalism, which made me feel comfortable. Now, Dr. Hicks suggests a hysterectomy as the next step. This idea scares me, but I trust his experience and advice. Despite his youthful appearance, he has a kind way of dealing with patients that eases worries. His team at the surgery center also took great care of me during the procedure. Looking back, I'm thankful for this journey. Sharing my experience in this review is important, so others can find help too. Dr. Hicks's dedication and skill deserve recognition, even though the thought of a hysterectomy isn't easy to accept. As I think about the path to recovery, I'm open to hearing from others who might have advice. This journey has been tough, but it led me to regain control over my health. For that, I'm grateful.

The staff at Women's Advanced Healthcare is incredibly friendly and professional. However, having…read morethe Palm Desert office as the only available OBGYN location in the entire Coachella Valley is a major hardship. For working mothers, taking an entire day off work just for a doctor's appointment is unsustainable, especially with such rigid scheduling options. We constantly hear about declining birth rates, yet there is a severe lack of flexible healthcare support for working moms. It is frustrating that neither local nor federal government initiatives have addressed this shortage to provide more clinics with actual doctors available. The care is good, but the accessibility is ridiculous!!!!!

When I raised concerns with the office manager Valeria, I wasn't given answers -- I was sent a letter firing me as a patient. Dr. Lilia Pacini refused to order medically necessary NIPT testing unless I agreed to monthly appointments with them. When I asked for flexible, as-needed care while also working with a midwife, I was told I could be removed. After canceling one appointment, I was. They advertise themselves as "feminist." There is nothing empowering about coercing pregnant patients into recurring visits to access basic prenatal testing. Add in Pacini's ownership ties to El Mirador Surgery Center, and it's hard not to question the financial motivations behind their policies. Even more concerning: when I asked multiple practitioners including Pacini herself about progesterone use while trying to conceive and during pregnancy, the repeated response was "I don't have experience with that." In a women's health practice. That answer alone speaks volumes. Retrieving my records was another ordeal. I was told to pick them up at the Yucca Valley location, which is listed on Google as a vacant building. After locating a small, unmarked rental window inside another medical office, I was asked to pay $35 for printed records. The records contained no documentation of the phone calls I had with the office, including my complaint to the manager. Cold. Punitive. Profit-driven. Proceed at your own risk.

You cannot bring a guest to appointments, even prenatal visits, which feels unnecessary and isolating, especially for first time mom's who deserve to have their partner alongside them through the process. They consistently overbook, so plan to wait at least an hour just to be seen. I once waited 2.5 hours past my scheduled prenatal appointment time. The care itself feels rushed and disconnected. The ultrasound tech was cold and clearly unhappy to be there, with no bedside manner at all. Once you're finally called back, you're shuffled from person to person and only get a few rushed minutes with the doctor. It feels more like a conveyor belt than actual care. Communication is just as bad. If you try to call with questions, expect to sit on hold for 30 to 45 minutes before reaching anyone. The biggest red flag for me was scheduling. I originally saw Dr. Nahar, who left the practice. I later booked a yearly appointment with Dr. Garza months in advance, rearranged my entire day to attend, and showed up only to find out my appointment had been canceled and Dr. Garza had also left. I received no call, text, or email notifying me. This was the second doctor I had booked who left the practice, with zero communication. Overall, there is a clear lack of bedside manner, no respect for patients' time, and serious turnover issues among providers. Something is off here. I would not recommend this office. Let the amount of 1-star reviews speak for themselves.
