If you have the option to choose another clinic instead of this one, I strongly recommend doing so. Apparently, the doctor at this clinic will take it personally if you ever can't wait two hours for him and will drop you as a patient in the middle of your pregnancy. I ultimately left this practice because I simply couldn't deal with it anymore. No matter how many appointments I had, I was always waiting in the exam room for over an hour. I genuinely don't understand the point of making an appointment if patients are still expected to sit there for hours. In early May, I waited TWO HOURS in the exam room. I ended up seriously inconveniencing my clients at work because I never expected that a scheduled appointment could take that long before the doctor actually came in. And what was the appointment for? Basically just asking how I was feeling and how I was eating. That's it. It honestly felt like the clinic was scheduling unnecessary appointments just to bill insurance while making patients wait for hours. And when it came to important medical information, I often had to find the answers myself and then bring them to the doctor. For example, I have a negative blood type and my husband has a positive one. I had to learn from online forums that this can require a specific injection during pregnancy. When I asked my doctor about it, his response was basically, "Oh, your husband is positive? Well, yes, then you'll need the injection." Wait... isn't this something the doctor is supposed to ask about and monitor? Why am I having to research important pregnancy-related issues myself and then bring the information to my doctor just to confirm it? Then in June, my appointment had to be rescheduled because the doctor wasn't available on Wednesday. I came in for the new appointment and waited for 40 minutes. I couldn't wait any longer because I had to get to work, and this appointment had already been moved to a day that wasn't convenient for me. I asked what was going on and why I was constantly waiting so long. One employee genuinely tried to help me and went to ask the doctor what was happening. Another employee, however, became defensive and told me that I hadn't even been waiting for 50 minutes yet and that this was a completely normal wait time because there were other patients. I asked, "Then what's the point of scheduling appointments at specific times if patients are expected to wait for hours anyway?" I was told that if I wasn't happy, nobody was forcing me to stay and I was free to leave. Well, thank you. That was my last appointment at this clinic. On top of everything else, they repeatedly sent the wrong medication prescription to my pharmacy, completely ignoring the specific form of the medication I needed. Every time, I had to call the clinic and ask them to send the correct prescription because the medication they initially prescribed wasn't suitable for me. I have since found a new doctor and a new clinic, and the difference is night and day. I'm seen on time and finally feel like I'm receiving the care and attention I deserve. Unfortunately, I also had to complete additional tests and screenings that should have been done earlier in my pregnancy at Dr. Dennis Roberts' clinic, but for some reason were never completed. Pregnancy and childbirth are such an important and vulnerable time in a person's life. I strongly recommend finding another clinic if you have the option. Based on my experience, this is not a place where I felt properly cared for or supported. read more

I have no idea where to start! I have a heart full of love, & my respect level is extremely high.. even to those who are rude to me. I have no back bone so it's hard for me to stand up for myself. With that being said I chose Dr. Dennis because of his "name" silly right. My first sons grandfather is named Dennis. I thought okay cool maybe we could find some sort of connection. My very first appointment the lady at the front had me nearly in tears telling me that this office isn't a baby sitting room, and that if I bring my son next time, they will never see me again. She yelled at me in front of all the patients in the waiting room. I brushed it off and let it go since I wasn't sure what to do. I came back for my next appointment and the office staff were terrible to me. BUT DR DENNIS WAS SO KIND AND CARING. So I thought to myself that's all that matters. As my appointments went on the front office staff and Dr. Dennis continued to become worse and worse.. saying hurtful things to me, and not caring about my actual health. I was completely high risk with my first son and had a wonderful experience by another OB. I have a heart condition and an auto immune disease. They don't answer any questions you have. They are extremely rude and make you cry. I went into the office today 11/15/23 for my appointment with my son and fiancé since every SINGLE TIME IM IN THERE FOR MY APPOINTMENTS, moms bring their newborns and children, but I got screamed at. So today I brought my family and of course they acted like it was okay. I brought up an issue that I have been having related to my heart, and he told me "well to bad maybe next time don't get pregnant.. I was very confused and rubbed the wrong way. I am not confrontational so I just laughed it off. When we left my fiancé said you will not be going back. That entire situation was the most unprofessional, uncomfortable appointment we have ever been to and we will be switching drs. I immediately got on the phone and found a new OB which is actually closer to me as I live in Palm Springs. The new office told me to request my files and bring them to them, and or have them faxed over to their office. When I called Dr. Dennis back his office staff told me "they couldn't do that, they aren't releasing any of my medical files to me and or the new Dr. unless this NEW PHYSICIAN REQUESTED MY FILES. After many phone calls back and fourth I finally told the lady on the phone that I'm concerned because of my heart and the way I have been feeling, and she seriously said "WE DONT CARE" and rudely hung up. I fell right into tears. I truly feel like this doctor doesn't care about anyone.. he's only their to collect his checks and run insurance fraud. MY fiancé who doesn't take anything from anyone nicely called back and asked what is going on and the lady at the front desk yelled at him and said I'm done dealing with you guys.. as if we are a problem. I'm just trying to switch Drs. So I can have a better experience and actually enjoy this last pregnancy. He didn't care about any pain I was having he told me to figure out something that worked, he told me ice. I asked if there was anything I could take and he replied with absolutely nothing. I don't even know how to explain all my other visits with that practice other than your worst nightmare as a pregnant mom. I have no idea why any of them are even there. Every time I have gone in I have been respectful and caring.. I feel like it's a cult. Something is seriously going on in that office. One of his patients today told me he gives out his private number for anyone who has any questions or concerns during their pregnancy. I asked for a number and they told me to call the front office anytime I have questions. Every time I call the office I don't even know how to talk because of how rude they are to me. I FINALLY HAD A BREAKING POINT TODAY and called IEHP to file a complaint in complete tears because of how badly I'm being treated and NEGLECTED. I honestly don't know what I ever did to this office and dr to be so hurtful towards me. But I can't take it anymore. I want to enjoy this pregnancy. All I want is to change drs and I feel like they won't let me. I feel very scared and controlled. How this dr gets away with this type of treatment blows me away. I have worked in the medical field the last 13 years with many high end drs. And nurses and I've never seen such behavior before for. He even commented on how nice my weight was because it's easy for him to find the heart beat. At this point I'm begging for them to just let me leave and finish out my pregnancy with my new OB. It worries me as to why they don't let people switch. They put up a huge fight.. I truly feel it's all malpractice and I'm confused as to how this doctor hasn't lost his license yet. It's scary what is out there and what people get away with. But my babies mean the world to me, and I care to much about my unborn to continue feeling this way. read more

If zero stars were available I would choose that. Entirely unprofessional and seems to commonly be in the business of making pregnant women cry. Every appointment was 2-3 hours waiting. I was very intimidated by this Dr as I'm sure many of the other women also are. Left waiting without underwear on for an hour + for the doctor which leaves you feeling very vulnerable, especially since no updates are given throughout. If you ask (politely) when you might expect to see the doctor after having waited 90+ mins already, Dr Roberts drops you as a patient as he most recently did with me and has with other women. My most recent (and last) appointment was almost 3 hours in total for less than 5 minutes with the doctor. He then continued to shame state healthcare plans and the patients on them, saying that they don't pay him enough and that he has to take out loans to cover treating women like us. I am not on medi-cal and pay full price premiums on my health care, I just submitted through Covered California to help assist in navigating the complex matrix of healthcare providers. I tried to explain that many of the women that were having to take between 2 and 5 hours out of their workdays may also be facing financial hardship because of these wait-times. Many women seem to be scheduled for the same time, which seems to be a fairly simple fix. On my first appointment I'd asked if my husband might be allowed to attend the first scan since I knew there were COVID measures in place, to which Dr Roberts responded aggressively with "I don't have to work you know, I have money, I'm risking my life every day to treat you and others but I don't know... You'll have to check with Dr Brar's office..." before going on an angry rant about the president and leaving. Finances (good or bad) being raised to patients by a health professional is wholly inappropriate. I am truly respectful of those in the medical practice and asked this question incredibly politely just to try to find out if my husband would be allowed to attend the scan of his first unborn. In addition to the above, the care is questionable. There seem to be little to no regard in giving C rated/non FDA approved medications as a first means of treatment for symptoms like nausea: not for the first time, against the medical advice of my primary care physician. I ran into a similar situation regarding the use of home enemas - upon following the advice of an ER doctor and packaging labels that home enemas are inappropriate for pregnant women in their first trimester as they may induce abortion, Dr Roberts told me that was "nonsense" and an "American ploy to save themselves on law suits" and that this advice "would never be used in Mexico" along with the recommendation to use home enemas if the problem ever arose again. He also recommended a paleo diet, suggesting that I only ate food that was available 200,000+ years ago. It seems a healthy balanced diet is more than adequate for a healthy pregnancy. On top of the very intimidating care I experienced with Dr Roberts and the unacceptable wait times and sub-par scheduling system, the general lack of professionalism extended in to that of the medical record team who not only refused to get my medical records to my doctor ahead of my urgent 20 weeks appointment to check for fetal abnormalities, but also hung up the phone during my request. This was shortly after the most displeasurable conversation with the receiver rudely asking "what I wanted" and saying that they wouldn't help me. I had to have my insurance obtain the records on my behalf. I honestly wouldn't wish this treatment upon anyone, especially a pregnant woman during a national crisis when things are already scary enough. Please avoid this doctor if you can, he should not be allowed to operate in this manner. Its quite astonishing he still has a license after the number of complaints and bad reviews you can find here detailing aggression, and in some cases indications of malpractice. Hopefully his behavior will be corrected and this wont continue to happen. Do your very best to get a different doctor, hopefully one that doesn't have quite a bitter taste in their mouth for women, after entering a profession that specifically sees to the treatment of them and their unborns. Hey, what more might one expect from a doctor who's other line of business is in shaming/'correcting' women for their 'stubborn fat pockets, unsightly cellulite, and abhorrent wrinkles'. Cosmetic work targeted at healthy women DOES seem a natural transition for an OBGYN... Best of luck in finding a good provider. read more

I was referred to Dr Roberts by many family members. He is well known in the Coachella Valley . This was my first pregnancy and was very anxious about everything to do with pregnancy. Any concern I had, Dr Roberts was always there to assure everything was okay. There was a point in my pregnancy where I saw him maybe 3 days in a week because of some concerning issues. He saw me whenever I was worried about something immediately. Thanks to him my precious baby boy is here healthy. Yes he has ALOT of patients so there can be a long wait at times, up to 2 hours. But for me it was worth the wait. He is very straight forward also. The only downside for me is that he doesn't deliver at Eisenhower which is my hospital of preference but JFK was not bad at all. It was all a great experience for me and just thought I'd leave a review to show my gratitude to Dr Roberts. read more

I brought up a problem with the doctor on how his nurses professionalism was very poor and his excuse was that we get paid poorly through medi-cal and the doctors and nurses are constantly working so there stressed and then he said I was the first complaint in 27 years. Obviously a lie. All I can say is if you can't acknowledge a persons complaint about professionalism, or how they cant take a pregnant womens word, then how can you trust and know you and your baby are in good safe hands. Worst experience of my LIFE, I had never encountered such an arrogant unprofessional doctor along with his staff. For starters they only accept cash & personal checks BIG red flag, I was overcharged for my visit my copay is $50 and they charged me $210. The lvn that took me in to take my vitals was EXTREMELY rude and very moody she was rough when drawing my blood, then put me in a room and told me to "take everything off" without explaining what would be taking place or the procedure that would be done. Being my first pregnancy you expect to be walked through and have the process explained. The doctor just started throwing brochures at me and told me I had to make a decision the same day and to read them. He Couldn't even tell how far along I was, chose a random date for the last day of my menstruation and gave me a guesstimate. He told me my insurance could not bother paying for an ultrasound until after 14 wks pregnant. I came out of there crying of frustration, I had been looking forward to this day sooo much for a rude arrogant doctor to just put me down. It took them three months to send me a refund a check, after sooo many calls and emails I was finally able to get my money back. Ladies do yourself a favor and find a different OBGYN. I made an appointment 3 days ago. When I finally went they asked me to sign in and for 5 minutes just I sat there. I asked if i could be filling up some paper work while I was waiting since I was a new patient. The receptionist said yes and she gave them to me. I also asked what was the average waiting time. She said one to two hours. There was nobody waiting in the waiting room but my daughter and I. I politely asked if the television could be change to a children's channel so my daughter could see it, she said no. She gave me a container to gather urine in. I asked if I could have some water and she told me there was a drinking water int he first floor. My daughter and I went and came back. when I asked if I could use the restroom, SHE SAID SHE HAD TOLD THE DOCTOR ABOUT ALL MY COMPLAINING AND HE DIDN'T WANT SEE ME! so for me to look for another doctor that he would not see me. I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EARS!!! This horrible doctor. if you can avoid him, do. he treats people as cattle. I am writting this review on behalf of my pregnant gf.. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER!!! The staff is very rude and inadequately trained nurses at this clinic. They work in very unsanitary conditions. The nurse Lorena is the worst. They should be shut down! Lorena drew blood from my gf right after taking someone else's blood and not washing her hands or wearing gloves while drawing my gf's blood. She threw a fit towards my gf just because my gf requested to have her blood drawn from her hand (where she always has it drawn) instead of her arm, trying to scare her out of it. Digging for a while for clearly visible veins, and switching to the other hand laughing "I told you so", severly bruising both hands. Not to mention they have uneducated staff - the medical assistant from Mayfield College couldn't even pronounce medical terms and asked my gf what they meant. Another MA said she never went to school but took a quick medical assistant course "and here I am"! Uneducated staff = cheap labor. Calling to get blood results, we were met with the response "the doctor doesn't want to talk to you and he doesn't have to". After our horrible experience my gf filed a complaint against their staff, as retaliation they dropped my gf as a patient for "breaking trust" saying very sarcastically "good luck finding another doctor".
