I had the best experience at this tattoo shop, had been trying to get some work done since August but here we are. This was a semi late trip to first Street where I was met by Dee, he was super nice and instantly pulled out his iPad and began to try and connect with my brain which is not always easy to do. Together we made this tattoo my own by changing a few minor things and I love it. The vibe at this place is so unique and freaking cool. Dee has his room set up in the most comfortable way possible, I laid back and relaxed while he used a lamp for himself to see my arm and I didn't have to deal with overhead lighting...I am picky about lighting!! Price was decent and took maybe 2 hours total. I'm glad he didn't try to force his opinion on me or switch something up in the middle, he was all about what I wanted. Very important!! He was so patient and chill, we had good easy flowing conversations and I am definitely going to be seeing him again..real soon too We will have to read a few more chapters in your book about life.. read more

Update: I had to go to the emergency room to get an EPI pen shot because of this place. The jewelry they provided was not surgical steel and contained nickel. (Which I'm very allergic and expressed before getting the piercing) Be careful getting piercings here or just avoid it all together because they lack integrity. My girlfriend paid $60 for a tongue which she paid upfront. As the piercer went to check her tongue she noted that my girlfriend tongue didn't have the right anatomy for it so she was rejected the piercing unless she wanted it crooked or possible ruin nerves in her tongue. At this point the women owner said she wouldn't give a refund but could give her store credit. Even though it wasn't her fault she couldn't get the piercing. She wrote on the back of a business card for the store credit and said it was good to use for 90 days. Maybe a month later she went back to get a tattoo. The tattoo she got was so tiny and done really bad. The lines are inconsistent some are thick and some are thin. Some are darker some are lighter. read more

W O W!!! This place is absolutely top notch. I've gotten 23 tattoos and this place is the gold standard.. T.O. (Tyler) was my artist. Found him on IG and he responded almost immediately to my inquiry. From there I booked an appointment after some back & forth about design. I got preliminary sketches, text reminders, and rapport- hard to find in most artist these days! Tyler is EXTREMELY sanitary, he changed gloves probably 15 times through our 3-4 hours together, wore a mask, wiped all products/surfaces down amply. Super super friendly guy who can make magic on skin from an idea in your head! During my session he would describe the techniques and purpose for doing each different method or emphasis. Really knowledgeable - and the awards he's won were very reassuring! I've gotta say he's given me my absolute favorite tattoo thus far, and I plan my 2nd favorite to be done by him as well! read more

I never post reviews, but I had to for this one. I recently got my conch piercing jewelry changed to a hoop at this studio. The piercer did not size my jewelry to the appropriate size and just put in whatever they had - which ended up being too small and causing me a lot of pain for the next few days. I ended up having to get it changed at another piercing studio bc of the low quality sleep due to the pain and tenderness. The new piercer mentioned it was too small and said other people have had problems with 1st street piercings. read more

Went to this place because of the good reviews I previously read. Walked in for a birthday tattoo, knew exactly what I wanted. When I told them, they responded saying it would fade. "Could be 2 weeks or 2 years." They also said they weren't trying to talk me out of it, but that's exactly what they did. So I told them my next desired tattoo. They called the artist over to look at it. He looked about retirement age -- he had what appeared to be a hearing aid in and a slight tick maybe? I'm not saying this to be rude but to give an honest review of what people can expect. He was nice. They printed a photo out of what I wanted, and I told them I wanted half that size. Another artist was looking over at it, and joined in on the conversation. They basically said I didn't want that tattoo either. The second artist said I'd have to worry about blow outs with it being that small. At this point, vibes were totally off and I told them never-mind and walked out. This was a total buzzkill unfortunately. But no sweat, it led me to find another amazing parlor that gave me exactly what I wanted and it has no blow outs! read more

You can definitely tell that this is a family owned establishment. When you go in there's nothing but love and everyone makes you feel so comfortable. It was so easy talking to everyone there and feeling so welcomed. There wasn't a person we met that wasn't nice. Their work is beautiful. I got my industrial piercing and two cartilage piercings here. They put in the wrong jewelry for my cartilage piercings. I was advised to use the wrong products to heal and disinfect my ears. My ears were infected from using the wrong products. My cartilage piercings were swelling up bleeding, full of puss and my studs were completely embedded in my skin. I had to return to here to get them taken out. I was also overcharged for my piercings even though they had signs out displaying the cost for each type of piercing. read more

I am extremely disappointed and frustrated. I didn't have an appointment and i called ahead of time so see if i needed an appointment to get a standard eyebrow piercing. My OG piercer didn't have any appointments for the day i went so i decided i'll put my faith in another one to see how it goes. reviews were good. I believe her name was Amy, She informed me that i didn't need an appointment and they take walk in. About 20 minutes later i arrived and signed all the necessary paperwork and it was time to get my piercing done. She marked me and told me to take a look, When i did i told her i wanted it a little higher and slanted. she re-did the mark and i still wasn't satisfied. We went back and forth for about 5 minutes on where i would like it placed. She eventually got frustrated and told me to mark its That was my first red flag because one: i am not a piercer. and two she was obviously getting upset with me about how picky i was on the placement. We chatted a bit and she told me she was an apprentice and had been at the shop for 2 1/2 years. I finally was satisfied with the placement and she was getting ready to do the piercing. She kept unclamping and moving it, and i was getting worried and she told me to breathe and did the piercing. I've have and industrial, 3 helix, tragus, daith, both nipples and my nose pierced. Im definitely not new to this experience. She told about five min to get the jewelry in and when i looked in the mirror. I WAS ABSOLUTELY MORTIFIED. i couldn't fucking believe it. it was EXTREMELY LOW. i could see it if i looked up. at first i was trying to be okay when it and i told myself if anything it was my fault because i marked it right,?? WRONG. she literally almost pierced my EYEBALL. she completely DISREGARDED the mark i made. When i took it out it was WAYY off of the line that we both agreed on. She completely BOTCHED ME. I understand that eyebrow piercing are based on your anatomy. So i went to my OG piercer the next day and showed him and he was mortified too. he took it out for me and told me he'll redo it when it's healed because there's no reason for her to have done that. he said anatomy would be perfect for an eyebrow piercing and that she needed to be reported. maybe she did it because i was being picky. but im really upset about my face. I've taken it out and now it's healing. Wasted $30 FOR ALMOST AN EYEBALL PIERCING. read more

I trusted Marco to create my breast cancer survivor tattoo. This is my first and only tattoo. He did a great job!!! Me made me feel very comfortable with the whole process. He really took my story to heart and made sure that I got exactly what I wanted. I'm a Director at an Insurance office and I was concerned about it looking Corp America appropriate. He made sure that it's super classy and elegant. It's on the inside of my wrist so it hurt a bit more than a fatty area so I've heard. I'm African American so I've had the pink ribbon color touched up twice now. I hope I get that true pink that I've been looking for. This place has the potential to be great but it can't be with terrible piercers. I had to pay before getting my piercing (weird and never coming back) but anyways, I came in for a simple ear piercing. Before being taken to the back I saw my piercer go to another part of the store with black gloves on & she opened a door and went inside a room. She then came out and told me I can come on back. What bothered me was she was piercing my ears with gloves that are now dirty due to her touching doorknobs, etc with them. So whatever germs were on the doorknob and whatever else she touched they are now in my freshly pierced ears. She should have changed her gloves or not put them on until she was actually about to pierce my ears. If I was to develop an infection the establishment would swear it's not their fault. Education your employees. They shouldn't be piercing if they can't even get past the sanitation part. read more

He messed up the lines because he had been drinking during the tattoo to top it off. He's horrible to deal with an extremely unprofessional. If you want a half ass trashy looking tattoo go to him. Well...I will never come back for a piercing ever again, let me tell you why! I decided to go in for my second holes and 2 weeks of getting them done puss was coming out of piercings and I called and asked what should I do and she said you probably aren't cleaning them...and I was religiously cleaning them, I ended up taking them out and I have bad scar tissue from it . A couple months go by and I wanted them done again, so I decided to give them a second go around maybe it was the jewelry last time. So I got in for second hole piercing again and a daith. Second holes are super close the my first hole FIRST RED FLAG, I went with other people they got piercings as well! I got told I got surgical grade jewelry which in fact I did not and she told my friend that I was that was getting pierced as well, that she was putting titanium in her ears which she did not we had it confirmed from a different piercer. Also she dropped the ball of the piercing in my ear while trying to put the jewelry in. Also she said i have a small anatomy and she could pierce it but she could possibly end up ripping my ear if it went sideways. I ended up getting a keloid on my daith so I went in to a different piercer and he said the jewelry she put in my ear was for a lip piercing not a daith piercing which it had the ball on the one side in the flat back on the other and was a straight bar!!! Also she tried to Pierce my tragus instead of my daith and said it was my fault that she almost pierced the wrong thing. I'm very upset Also the two other people that came with me their piercings got infected as well. In the first time I had a friend with me and her industrial got infected as well. read more

Been wanting to re pierce my ears lately, and have been so busy I never really have a chance to make an appointment anywhere. Thankfully, I came across 1st Street Tattoo while driving through Atascocita the other day. I am a crazy review checker, and after reading as many reviews as possible, it seemed like a good deal. There is plenty of parking which was great! I came in around 11ish in the morning and was promptly greeted. Mike was immediately available to pierce my ears and from beginning to end, I was in and out in about 15 minutes. The studio is clean and spacious, and Mike has a great personality. Pretty disappointed. Came to get lobes and a helix pierced. Lobes are totally uneven, wasn't even made aware when they were going to pierce them and before I knew it they were already done. Didn't clean my ears before hand, didn't mark the spot and OK with me. Did with the helix. Had to pierce the helix twice because they couldn't get the jewelry in the first time. Helix is also coming out the top of my ear. I'm going to have to remove one of the lobes and let it heal and re-pierce it so they're even now. Bad experience, total amateur. read more
