Somehow, my review was deleted (shocker!). I note that the tattoo l requested, the heart with the semicolon (NOT from Pinterest, Ronnie) remains as a photo - indicating that it may have been performed by one of their artists. Sadly, that was nowhere near the case. I was specific in my request for an artist prepared to do several small tattoos. The main one was the heart (signifying self love) with a semi colon (signifying your story isn't over yet). The young man, new from Vegas, was unaware what it stood for, but claimed he could do it on my wrist - permanently, for all the world to see. What l walked out with was a crooked heart with jagged lines and a COLON (the grammatical symbol, not the organ). It was beyond hideous or repair. He also put a word on my other wrist with all the letters tilted and different sizes and a bass clef that bled into more of an apple. I will say, in the interest of fairness, he colored in some old tats very nicely, so he was clearly adept at tracing From screen shot provided by Brittany B. of a Ron Byers who works here you are apparently some sort of troll if you give a one star review. He considers himself quite the intellect, who can school you in your tattoo choice, I presume he would tell you your child is too ugly to get on your arm permanently. He also has more prerequisites for his scheduling than any specialist I've ever used, so l assume is far more educated than my oncologist or neurosurgeon. Referring to your client as chubby or stupid is not only unprofessional, but provides for an unsafe environment for anyone frequenting this business. I would most certainly not want this man's physical assessment of me splashed over a public social media page, and that type of bravado warrants a look by the BBB. I cannot believe that my review of the bad work and bad result were removed. Busineses must take the good with the bad and learn from it. read more

I made an appointment and was given an estimate of it taking about 1 hour. He started on time and was done in about 45 minutes. I came into this shop based on the many positive reviews it has received. I requested a consultation with an artist who could do small tattoos. A gentleman came out front, we discussed what l wanted, the significance of each and l showed him photos of two of the three l wanted. We scheduled an appointment and l left, returning two days later. At no point was l told that doing small tattoos was not this man's strong suit. He did not refer me to anyone else nor even suggest as much. In the photo section #s 13 and 14 show the picture of one of the tattoos l requested vs what l received. The other two faired little better, but the signicance of this one is completely lost and is a dismal failure. Full disclosure, the owner did agree to assist in a redo. There was no apology or talk of a refund. He at least admitted to me that small tattoos are difficult. So, l chose to go elsewhere for the necessary removal and redo. Sometimes money isn't necessarily well spent. Check portfolios. Do your homework. You're welcome. read more

We have had several pieces done by Ken. We couldn't be happier with Hitlist. The work is incredible. The atmosphere is good and relaxing. The only complaint is how long you have to wait for an appointment but it is because Ken is that good. If he wasn't then you wouldn't have to wait. We found the prices very competitive and well worth it. We've seen some of the stuff done by his other artists and it looks like you couldn't go wrong with any of them. I got tattoo from Ken kahler almost a year ago. He did mine and my husband's tattoos and they were amazing! I get compliments regularly even to the point where people move my hair from hiding the tattoo to compliment it...kind of creepy but totally flattering. My husband and I will only be going to him from now on and we only recommend him to people. He is very friendly and funny if you're in to sarcastic funny (we do) and the shop is just amazing. He gets booked so fast that it definitely can't be a last minute decision. I absolutely love that the color is still just as beautiful as the day he did it and no one else has this on them. I will never use Erik Nikstad from Hitlist ink again . Did a half ass tattoo, claimed I didn't take care of my tattoo properly. I have several tattoos and never has any of them healed up like this one . He had to don touch up and still didn't do a good job , kept my $50 deposit that was suppose to come off the total of the finished tattoo . Very unfortunate experience here. I had a cover I had been procrastinating for over 15 years. Went to the best because I wanted the best. Artist was not friendly, acted like i was a nuisance and not a paying customer. The cover did not cover the original tattoo. Artist also did some shading that makes the tattoo appear to have hair. I politely expressed to the artist that it wasn't what I envisioned and was shot down. No apology or offer to fix it. Basically from start to finish I was treated like a pest. Artists complained and cussed about other clients the entire time I was there. Laughing and calling clients stupid. I now must go and pay yet another artist to fix this tattoo. Very very disappointed. I waited this long because I wanted the very best this area had to offer, now I am stuck with just another bad tattoo. read more

The staff and "artist" were friendly. However, when I went back into the room with him (I believe his name was Pablo) I became more and more uneasy with him as he proceeded to touch multiple surfaces with his gloves on that he'd be using to tattoo my skin. I started asking him questions. One of which was "so how do you get hired at a tattoo shop? Do you have to show a portfolio?" In which his response was "If they like my tattoo work then they will hire me" which I found very alarming considering I was not told he wasn't an official artist before he started the tattoo (it was a pretty decent sized tattoo as well) and nobody bothered to stay in there with him to comment on his technique or guide him in any way. His artwork wasn't awful but definitely not the great... His cleanliness procedure was god awful. I wasn't given any aftercare instruction after and ended up getting an infection even after following the aftercare instructions i gathered from the internet. If you do get tattooed here make sure the artist is an actual artist and that they are following proper cleanliness procedure. read more

My experience at Hitlist Ink Studio exceeds my expectations. They were recommended by a friend, and I had seen her tattoos so I knew that Ken Kahler does excellent work. My tattoo took a little over three and a half hours, and I am very happy with how my artwork turned out. Right from the beginning, the professionalism of the studio is impeccable. They are friendly and polite, but down to business. You will need proper identification for tattoos or piercing, and they are going to make a photo copy for their records. This is very subtle, but very professional in my opinion. Might be required by state, but I can't say that I remember other locations are this organized. You will most likely need an appointment. Unless you are lucky, or looking to get something done that is quick, you will need an appointment. There is a deposit for an appointment, so you will need to go in to schedule your appointment. The lead time for the appointment is anywhere from two weeks to two months, depending on who you are wanting to schedule with. Pricing is on par with market. They will give you a rough estimate, and considering the workmanship its probably a good deal. The studio is extremely clean with separated salons for privacy. Even the waiting room up front is spotless. While I was getting my tattoo, I noticed that they cleaned off the front counter between every visitor (might be an OCD, but it is a good OCD). They also remain above bar with all the normal stuff too (e.g. - new needles, lots of new gloves, clean wipes, proper sharps disposal, etc.) Artistry & Workmanship are excellent. I did not have an exact image of what I wanted, but I had a mix of different things with conceptual ideals, admittedly all over the place. Ken was able to bring them all together and draw up a template that was exactly what I wanted. I admit I had a lot of anxiety about if he was going to be able to bring it all together, since it was going to have to be drawn. He did an excellent job. Additionally, I have healed faster with this tattoo than any of my others. I also didn't seem to have as much bleeding with this, but I don't know if it was his technique or other reason. The outline and shading are excellent. Other tattoo artists seemed like they did excellent work as well. They would often bring their customer into the room to show off their new ink, so I got to see the other artists work too. For the most part, the other artists did excellent work as well, just often very different styles. This is probably due to the customer requests. In summary, I loved the work Ken did. His staff is professional, his studio is clean. I will definitely be returning to replace my aging old artwork with a new back piece as well as some shoulder art I am craving. read more
