I do NOT recommend to give this company any more service. I got recommended to first time driver by a friend and the first thing I realized was everything takes so long. With other schools the process is so quick and easy but here It took more than 4 months just for the written part of the learning. When it comes to the driving "behind the wheel lessons", you need at least 4-5 sessions to be able to take your driving test and they schedule them so far apart in time that you are almost 18 by the time you finish the classes so theres no point. Everything is so slow there that we could have waited until she was 18 to just take the test. They are extremely rude when it comes to availability. My daughter was simply trying to get this done so she could have her license with all of her friends and now she is a senior in high school with no license because of this extremely slow process. I wish I would have known before but now we're stuck STILL not finished. read more

The owner spoke to me as if I was not a paying customer, does nothing to accommodate teens schedules, misses sending appointment reminders and overbooks themselves so when you do miss your next appt is pushed out for months. I had 2 children attend and I had issues both times. THE OWNER TAKES EVERYTHING PERSONAL AND NOW CANCELED MY SONS DRIVING SCHOOL HALF WAY THROUGH BECAUSE THEY CANT GET THEIR BUSINESS IN ORDER AND AFTER HANGING UP ON ME. She is now messing with my child's livelihood and I would not recommend any business that would do such an awful thing. Unsure why she felt the need to blame me because they suck. My daughter was a student last year and has struggled to pass her permit test. I paid for the whole package the classroom and the behind the wheel. I found out today that the behind the wheel time has an expirations date. I will have to pay and additional fee of $150.00 for them to honor the behind the wheel time that I have already paid for. I see now why this is a cash business. The owner was very rude, lacks compassion and I'm going to guess her granddaughter is the girl who sits at the desk, because she was just as rude. They do not honor what they agree to do, they do not care about your kids, but they do want to make sure you can pay. Will not be returning- I will pay more to go somewhere else. Too much fine print, with no results. They also denied a refund for the behind the wheel and kept that money. read more

Brenda the scheduler is exceptionally rude, speaks down to parents, and is not helpful in accommodating parents scheduling needs. I sufficient driving instructors means students can't complete the course in a timely manner. At least two of the instructors do not appear qualified to be in teaching roles. Save your student driver time and money by attending driving school elsewhere. read more

Brenda is the best teacher a new driver can have. She is kind, patient and puts her foot down when needed. She goes above what is expected from a drive teacher. Great service from the beginning. Making appointments has been easy and accommodating from the beginning. I didn't really understand the process, so we did the certificate online not knowing that we could do everything here, I will do it all with them next time. Once my son got his permit he needed a lesson with a licensed instructor before he was supposed to drive with anyone else. They got him in right away. Subsequent appointments went great. The reason for my 5 star review though is because they have gone above and beyond for my son. I mistakenly missed his last driving lesson scheduled just days before his DMV behind the wheel test. He needs this in order to get his license. I felt terrible, my poor kid may have to wait until September!! Mom fail. First time driver (especially Jacki) have gone out of their way to reschedule his last lesson so that he can still test on the 16th. I would recommend them to anyone! My son took the online course and we paid $8 extra for all the practice tests and he still failed his permit test. I'm not sure if they give the right info for the test. Also, you can't review the final text and study it again after you've submitted it. These are some things they need to fix for their online program. My daughter went through First Time Driver for her behind-the-wheel training and it went very well! She had Jackie Hanson who is super upbeat, experienced, and very kind. She knows exactly what needs to be covered and worked on to be a safe and confident driver, and to be well prepared for the driving test. She personalizes each session to also drill in on the areas that our daughter needed extra help on. She made our daughter feel comfortable at the first driving session and we requested her for all 4 sessions. Lisa, who scheduled our sessions, was also very helpful and she's super organized. Love this place! it provides a good instructor, information on the test that are in the future, and a good environment. Clean bathrooms and very nice staff! Mr. Doyle was the teacher and I believe he is the best out of all of them. I believe this class is better than the online courses because it provides a friendly staff and more useful information. Ive driven almost everyday to school and back and through to different states. it came as a shock to me that i failed, until i found out that it was something i was never taught how to do. I'll refrain from calling my kid a dumbass but....if the shoe fits wear it! My kid failed her written test twice so before setting her up for failure a 3rd time I did my research on driving schools. First time seemed to be the most popular on our moms group and I see why. They answer their phone or call you back when you leave a VM, kind of a big deal these days. They are very detailed with their information and honestly if you miss a step it has more to do with you than them because they pretty much tell you STEP BY STEP what to do at each stepping stone. Most importantly my kid has gone from not caring about driving to pointing out all the things I am doing wrong. From her prospective teacher is super engaging and makes sure that you leave understanding all the information that is given to you. She went from missing 16 questions on the first day to 3 on the last day. She is fully prepared to take on this driving world as safely as possible all thanks to FTD. John Doyle must be a good teacher my daughter passed her permit test today on the first try wow am impressed I have to say the teacher is awesome ....my other daughter three years ago passed after 4 times with online classes so I see a big difference in online and in class. My daughter used the online course. Therefore I cannot comment on the one-on-one experience. But, the policy states if you do not utilize the behind the wheel instructions a full refund is granted. Well, I have been calling for 2 months for a refund, I have walked in requesting the refund, and to date not ONE phone call to provide a status has been given. I have heard several excuses from "the person that signs the checks is not in" to "that person is instructing class and cannot sign" to "once we receive the check we will call you". A courtesy call seems impossible by these people and myself as a manager, this is UNPROFESSIONAL! I have been patiently waiting for my refund check of $240.00 that I paid in November let alone a PHONE CALL the past two months since requesting the refund! Seek services else where because unforeseen circumstances clearly does not apply to this business nor do they stand by their policy. My next step is filing a complaint with the BBB. read more

FTD was referred to us by a respected mom. Since our first child was going to need lessons, I didn't know where to turn, what the DMV rules were, and, certainly what to expect. FTD staff were friendly from the start, returning my first call and answering all questions throughout the 6-month period. My child was taught well, the drivers who took her out were helpful and patient and we learned lots of tidbits (for instance, suggestions on making appointments with the less-crowded Banning DMV vs. Redlands DMV). They seem to understand teens well and relate to them. They also charge a fair price. My next child is about ready to start driving and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I highly recommend! read more

My son recently went through First Time Driver's program. He did both the classroom training and behind the wheel. I could not say enough positive things about every person we came in contact with. They are very busy especially with their behind the wheel appts and even when my son made a big teenager mistake by not thinking it was going to be an issue to not make his last drive appointment with his DMV appointment being just 6 days away they went above and beyond and got him in. He could never repay him for what they did for him which they didn't have to. I was totally expecting to have to reschedule and wait another 3 months for the next DMV appt. But they made magic happen for him and he is now a licensed driver almost 4 weeks now. I would recommend this business to everyone and I do just that. Working at one of the surrounding cities high school, I hear so many of the kids taking the online class (I get it it's cheaper) but do not pass their DMV written test. My son passed with flying colors, he's been complimented on his driving by not only the First Time Driver instructors but also the DMV behind the wheel tester herself.
