My husband and I love to come here! We always come early in the morning because it does get crowded! That's how good it is. The waiters are fast to seat you, everything on the menu is made fresh and tastes amazing, and the food comes out so fast! Every time we have people visiting we always take them here! We especially love the seasonal menu! We love coming here and will continue to come!

Probably the best cafe in West Virginia. Incredible food, staff were so friendly. The food came out super fast. Relatively chill quiet environment for breakfast. Could not recommend this place more.

We were driving thru, stopped and had a bite to eat, Saturday noonish, very packed upon entering, waited about 20 minutes for a table, turn over seemed to be fairly quick, we had a lovely table by the window. Already knew what I wanted, read the menu while waiting, Million dollar bacon, Tri-Fecta, my cousin ordered Kale juice and BLT Eggs Benedict. We did not wait long, food was delicious, table in corner was a little cool as AC was blowing on us. But, everyone was attentive, menu was unique, and food was good, I ordered the chicken sausage, thin and delicious with blueberry pancake, eggs med., in which whites were still runny. My order came with bacon but, as soon as I got a hold of her she brought me the sausage.. the bacon was fabulous, could of been cooked a tad more for crispiness

First Watch is one of my favorite brunch spots around Charleston. The food is delicious and the service is fast and friendly. This would be great place to take the family or have a business lunch. The dining room is quite open while still having a farmhouse cozy vibe.

Passing through Charleston and took extra time to hit a "special" place, at least according to Yelp. Place was busy but only waited 1-2 minutes to be seated. Food was fantastic and the coffee was on point. Our server Erin is a ROCKSTAR! If you are searching for great eats and are lucky enough to get Erin as your server, you'll walk away with a huge smile on your face! Thanks Erin and First Watch for making it a worthwhile detour!!

I was in the area for a wedding and needed a good breakfast. I came on the weekend and they have parking across the street for all patrons eating at the restaurant which is amazing. They don't have a waitlist which is pretty inconvenient for the number of people they seem to service in the morning. Thankfully I was in pretty early for I only had to wait about 25 minutes. We were seated at a very small table and it's very cramped inside. They pack people in there like sardines. I ordered the Farmhouse Hash with over easy eggs and a biscuit. It was pretty good and the jelly was homemade it seemed. I would say for the wait, the price, and seating to maybe go early.

Food was really good, server was really nice. ALWAYS packed however so expect to wait, highly recommend putting your name on the list early then killing sometime. Would definitely come again and plan to soon.

I've dined at several FW restaurants in many different states - this one is my favorite for sure. This staff is always courteous, pleasant & friendly. The food is always fresh, well prepared & delicious. The environment & ambiance is always clean, lively & fun. Best brunch spot downtown.

Before heading off to the Criel Mound in South Charleston we stopped in to First Watch for breakfast. First of all parking is hard to find nearby, don't park out in front, it's a tow away zone. Park in the ramp which is attached where there are meters inside the ramp. We loved the look & feel of the space, so contemporary & stylish. We ordered the Ham & Gruyere melt & the AM Superfood Bowl ( Chia seed pudding with berries & almonds with almond butter toast ) & a side of Million dollar Bacon. Everything was absolutely fantastic, so good in fact we both rate this meal as possibly the best breakfast we have ever had! The million dollar bacon isn't cheap ( $ 5 49 ) but it's a must try! The prices are very reasonable too, ( 2 entrees, 1 side & 2 beverages ) for $ 36 11. We can't recommend First Watch strongly enough!

Great good, great service. Enjoyed everything I ordered. My wife also loved hers. I ordered Trifecta, waffle, eggs and sausage. She had lemon ricotta pancakes.

**April 2025: Weekday Afternoon Visit**…read more My friend and I were in the area and wanted a quick lunch before we hit the road again. With the high reviews we thought we'd check out Swiftwater Cafe. The restaurant is located on the first floor of a large building complex (maybe apartments?), and there were many locals dinning in. The space looked very homey and the tables were lined with green and white checkered tablecloths. There's a big chalk board with breakfast and lunch items and my friend and I decided on the following: Lunch -Italian Grilled Cheese $8.06 - This was a fantastic vegetarian sandwich. There was a lot of flavor and it the texture of all the ingredients worked together. I would get this again. -Tomato Basil Soup $4.16 and Chili $4.16: Standard soups -Pepperoni Roll $4.16 - I was told that this was West Virginia's state food so naturally we had to try it out. It was tasty and I'm glad that this restaurant put in cheese, but I kind of wished there were a little bit more. -Chef Salad $9.88: This salad had a good assortment of ingredients and gave me the much needed vegetables that I had been lacking on this roadtrip. Service The host was very quick and polite. Patrons would pick up their orders at the counter when it's ready. Summary It was a nice local joint and I enjoyed all the outdoor photos around the cafeteria.

I walked up to find a couple of people working there who I take to be ownership. Notably, the reason I hadn't visited before is that I often travel on Sunday and they're closed on Sunday. You can run a business however you want I guess, but Sunday does seem like a time where a lot of people would want to be able to purchase some ice cream. In substance, the gelato selection was very good. They had a few non-dairy options. I picked several flavors that were wildly different, but was recommended to try something more consonant, which I suspect reflects a difference in thought processes between the more masculine high-decoupling mind and a contrasting holistic approach. Having said that, I went with the recommendation for what tasted like a very ripe banana flavor, as well as a tiramisu cream that definitely tasted like high quality tiramisu, and a pure hazelnut flavor. It was a high quality smooth dessert, and in relative terms, the price was less than what you'd pay at a high-end place in a big city. And while I can't say I've been to Italy, this gelato was as good as you'd get in any of the American places I've been to, so it's a great stop here in Charleston.

The line was a little long, but the lone gal behind the counter handled patrons well. My margarita was not good at all. So bad that I didn't even drink more than half which is just a sin when it comes to expensive cocktails. My husband's chicken sandwich had about as much chicken as a tiny tender strip. He left hungry. I had the steak special. Which had good flavors (as anything covered in cheese would) but if I'm paying $60 for a medium rare steak, it's a shame that it came out medium well. Roasted cauliflower was mid, I make better at home in my air fryer. Service was good but the waitress was pretty pushy with the extras like we were insane for not ordering appetizers and not letting her bring us a glass of 4 roses. Ambiance was fine.
