Property- and Home-Owner Associations are merely despotic totalitarian dictatorships (DTD) created by folks such as Lenin, Stalin, Mussolini, and yes, Hitler! These entities prove how much fascism has taken hold of this country. The management companies of these fascist entities are their henchmen...and that is precisely what FirstService is... Now, be warned, that if you decide to buy into one of these sly concentration camps, be sure to have an affordable lawyer in your pocket...especially if you buy a home in Perkiomen Woods, off route 29 in Upper Providence Township, Montgomery County, PA. Expect to be lied to. To be harassed. To have important community news withheld from you. Not to have snow or trash removal or lawncare in your area WHICH YOU HAVE PAID FOR...then be told all of these things are being done because you are 'not nice'!!!! After experiencing the above, who would be nice? The state won't help you. The federal government won't help you. Now here is a very true little story about what happened at Perkiomen Woods. A neighbor's cat has been killing wildlife around my home. I've caught the cat in the act. I told the owner to house the cat and her reply was she was keeping rats out. Now, one of the rules of the DTD is that all animals must be leashed. And I told her just that. I few months later she told me that her cat is wearing a bell. Now why would she have her cat wear a bell if she wants her cat to kill rats (which I've never seen in this DTD). Another time the woman comes to me and asks for some of my flowers, which I gave her. She made a cat gesture which reminded me of the cat. I told her that she is supposed to leash her cat which still roams MY property. I told her if I caught the cat on my property I would trap it. She grew mad and yelled and fussed (but kept the flowers I gave her). She then yelled that she was going to tell the management office (which is an entirely different kind of horror story). Well, this woman who enjoys breaking the rules of the DTD was elected PRESIDENT OF THE DTD! And now the harassment I endured when I first moved in is now increased. And there is nothing I can do. With regard to FirstService, they only do as the dictators on the board command them. In other words, they harass, lie, won't answer direct questions, make up rules as they go...well, you get the picture. Thus, they are the henchmen. And at Perkiomen Woods, they are really only the rental managers for those folks who bought only to rent. And trust me, there are more renters at this vile development than live-in owners. We have lived in Blue Bell Country Club since 2013, and have been very impressed by the FSR Management Team since it became responsible for the community in February 2020. Every member of the Staff that I have dealt with has been both responsive and proactive in resolving issues concerning both the entire community and related to our home. From special trash items to snow removal to community meetings, the Team seems to always be on top of things. I specifically want to acknowledge the response of the Management Team on Christmas Day 2020 in dealing with a neighbor's tree that had fallen on our rear deck, severely damaging it. Ten minutes after calling the FSR Emergency Number on Christmas Day, a Work Order had been issued to address removal of the tree. The next morning at 9am, a team from Shearon was at our home to remove the tree and all debris. I received a call from Anna Stone that day to ensure that everything was alright with our home (the tree fortunately missed our roof and wall adjacent to the deck), and that the HOA insurance company was being informed about the damage. To this day, the Team has been very helpful in dealing with the necessary approvals to repair our deck. Kudos to Yvonne Newman, Anna Stone, Brianna Wilson and the entire FSR team for their efforts on behalf of BBCC. read more

This has been my first experience working with FSR. I have found them to be very professional in their approach and cognizant of their obligation to the community membership they represent. As a contractor, one could say they were more attentive to the needs of their client (over the contractor) than what we had experienced in the past, yet this was carried out in a manner that was extremely fair in their requests made to those providing services. They provide a blend of youth and experience within their management team (which should be appreciated) and they have always been responsive from my standpoint. Some would say they are "demanding" of the service providers, but once again, it has been my experience that they are doing what is best for their client ... the community. My relationship has been with Cheryl Malason and I would definitely recommend her in comparison to others I have worked with. Her first priority has always been the community, but she is willing to work with contractors in a manner that can only be viewed as professional and competent. read more

Cindy Brandt is an outstanding manager for FirstService Residential! She is so friendly to all of the residents in our community and always answers any questions that we have. Whenever we have to email her, she responds very quickly and always comes up with a solution. We also appreciate her excellent communication with things such as the pool, trash pick-up, and snow removal reminders. Most importantly, she treats all members of my family as if they were a part of her own family. My father not only lived here in this community for 30 years, but now he works for Cindy and for FirstService as part of the maintenance department. She treats my dad so well, and he loves coming to work every day. My eight year old son even knows Cindy by first name basis, and he enjoys talking with her whenever we see her. I love living in our neighborhood, and it's because of people like her that make us want to stay! read more

I am the Treasurer of Devonshire Village, part of Hershey Mill. I have worked with First Service for the last 2 years. I have worked with our present property manager Jaimie, The communication between the residents and First Service has improved with the addition of Jaimie as our property manager. Jaimie also works well with Council, and provides advice on how to approach our issues. The financial reports and accounting records are prepared efficiently, correctly, and timely. Questions are answered quickly and completely. FSR has other services we have used, in the area of bank loan financing for roofs, and insurance for advice. read more

I can't say enough great things about our property Managers Marcie and Sydney. They have been terrific. Marcie is responsive to my emails for issues that have popped up on my property. Work orders have been issued immediately and done in a timely manner. Sydney is so pleasant to work with. She is quick with a smile and a solution. Both of these hard working people have made this a community again. What a creative idea they came up with - for food trucks when we couldn't get a vendor for the pool snack bar. I've lived in Towamencin Condominiums since 1981. The local manager, her assistant, maintenance staff, and the condo board members have been great over the many years. They're always responsive residents' requests. Moreover, I feel they've done an excellent job managing the financial aspects of our community. Sure, it's been tough recently trying to cover essential maintenance, along with necessary upgrades -- especially with COVID-19 restrictions over 2020-2021. Yet, with all that, they kept expenses in check, resulting in a thriving community that's a great place to live. read more

I lived in LIberty Knoll. Cynthia was an awesome property manager. She communicated all the time. She kept the community informed, and she immediately dealt with questions. I set up an automatic payment with First Service and had no problems with the service. I had to make changes to my home and submit paperwork to Cynthia. She handled things quickly and professionally. After moving out, I had to request a refund from an automatic payment and quickly received the money back into my account. read more

Our water main pipe to our home had a break in it. We called Cindy on Easter Sunday and she responded right away. Monday morning plans were put in place. Early Tuesday morning the work started and was completed by late afternoon. Cindy and all that were involved did a amazing job.
