Being honest. I've used their services in the past without issue. But that was a while ago. The current clown regime is absolutely the WORST! Apparently their operation consists of a brand new counter guy with limited or no computer experience and a technician who is only there sporadically as every time I called for a progress report I was told that he was called out of the office. AGAIN! Anyway, I brought my laptop there because my screen had cracked thereby causing it to work sporadically but it DID work. As a matter of fact I brought it there on a Tuesday and after writing me up the (obviously brand new) counter guy tells me that the technician wouldn't be in until Thursday. I'm thinking to myself "why the hell didn't he tell me that BEFORE ringing me up and accepting my deposit?". So I made him give it back to me so that I could at least use it until Thursday. So I bring it back on Thursday and was told that it should be about a week turnaround. (we all know what's coming next) So he changes the screen and now it doesn't work even sporadically. So this clown tells me that the ticket that was written up stated that the customer requests a new screen so that's all he did. REALLY? He claims that because that's what the customer wanted that he NEVER turned on the computer to see what was appearing on the screen. BULLSHIT! That doesn't make sense. Even for a clown show like theirs. Even though I did receive a full refund, I was still lied to on multiple occasions and brought in a laptop that was at least powering on only to be returned a non-working laptop 3 weeks later. After all my calm( but assertive) ranting I was told "Hey I'm not the owner, I'm just an employee. If you need to then I guess you could take to take us to small claims court." I've had my laptop for YEARS. A while back I got a virus on it that wouldn't allow me to do anything past playing solitare. It also had a cracked hinge which forced me to hold the screen in place while in use (like I said, I've had this thing for a looooooong time). I called laptop shack and told them what was going on. They assured me they had dealt with similar issues and would be able to fix my beloved computer. They had my lap top for a couple weeks maybe (they had to order a new hinge), and when I got it back, it worked great. All my pictures and music were still there, and the new hinge was nice and tight. I also really appreciate that I got phone calls from them every few days with an update on their progress. Had issues with my Macbook Air with Wifi. While I tried my best to work with software restore functions, I was unable to fix on my own, and failed. I had erased my HD and was unable to load the OS. Took it to Matt and he was able to restore the OS, but was unable to fix the Wifi. He found corrosion on the board that may have damaged the hardware, and suggested that I could possibly get Wifi with an USB device, short of replacing the motherboard. He was right, and now, without having to replace the motherboard, I now have my computer working again with the USB Wifi. Because he was unable to fix the primary problem, he only charged me the initial diagnostic fee, despite the fact that he got my computer back to life after I killed it. He was most gracious in handling my issue with competence and professionalism, and I recommend him highly for anyone needing computer repair work. read more

Brought my laptop here a couple years ago because it had a terrible lag and a friend suggested I change the CPU thermal paste. I'm a design student so I needed to have my computer fixed ASAP. Come back a week later and the guy at the counter looked a little flustered and handed over my laptop. Didn't think anything of it till I reflected a bit later. Get home and start up the computer. Notice it's still lagging but runs a little bit faster. I was in the middle of moving to a new county so I didn't bother running back to tell them that the issue was still present. A couple months later the computer practically dies out on me. Runs so slow I can't do anything with it. I completely wiped it and rebooted everything several times before having to eventually take it to a shop to have it looked at. So I took it to the local place near my new house. A few days later the guy calls me to the shop. Asked if I had it serviced before and I immediately thought of Laptop Shack. I tell him yes, I did, and he said the last person who was messing with the insides of my computer BURNED the mother board and there were scorch marks that looked "pretty bad" (there shouldn't be burn marks in the first place!). Well, that was a $1,400 laptop. At that point it was practically worthless and so beat up that I ended up just buying a new one. I'm still fuming about it all this time later. I don't know what the workers there are like now but if they're the same folks as before then stay away. Cost me almost $1,000 extra that I didn't have. read more

I don't know why I gave them one star , the laptop shack totally ruined my iPad Air 2 , I paid 800$ for this iPad , I just got finished paying for it , it had a tiny crack in it , wanted to repair it , they totally broke the whole computer , told me I did it when I cracked it , they lost all my family photos and videos of my grand children I will never be able to replace , then they had the audasity to give me back my broken iPad and a receipt saying never to do work for anyone living at my address , if I were you I wouldn't bring my computer to a place like this , if they can't fix something as small as a cracked iPad , I wouldn't trust them with anything else of mine ! Just a warning to anyone that needs help ! Any place other then them would be acceptable , I'm filing court papers !! read more

I purchased two computers from this store in the past with out issues. Recently I needed service on a Mac Book pro lap top. I dropped it off and a week later I called and was told that they fired all techs and new bodies are starting soon to service equipment. Another week went buy. I was told mine would be next. I came to the store and they gave me some bull of an answer about returning my deposit. The owner never contacted me so after another week I called my credit card company and they refunded the money to my account and will dispute the claim with the owner. Turns out it was my modem. I asked if they sold cords and told them what I needed. They brought out the correct one, said it was used and refused to take any money for it. They said it was a wedding present. My iPad screen was cracked, so I brought it to the laptop shack thinking it would be more of a reputable place than Walmart's iFix, but was I wrong. When I first came in I dropped it off and picked it up the same day everything seemed fine, however, I noticed the screen was lifting in the bottom right corner, I went back the next business day, and told them about it, the guy said while he was fixing it he noticed the iPad had a dent so it couldn't fit perfectly on the iPad or whatever, but not to worry just put a case on it. I had the iPad for maybe 2 weeks or so after maybe a bit longer and the screen cracked on the same side, so I came in showed the people at the store, and they basically said they can't help me, as a stand up business if there was something wrong with the iPad (dent) that would cause the screen not to properly get fixed then they should've called me to let me know, so I would know there was a risk after the repair was done.
