I started going to this place 6 months after is opened must be over 12 years now. Rich is a unique guy with a world of knowledge. His advice has helped me over 10 years of breeding Angelfish. Sometime his advice is not what you want to hear so some people are turned off. I'm not a big spender but some things are worth paying more for getting better quality. People: Quarantine your new fish and acclimate in a reasonable way. The fish here are from breeders, some good and some not good. Rich will cut out a breeder when things go bad. Here's come advice to not pass by. Go the day of delivery or the very next day. Works for me. My success stories are Angelfish, Platys, Bettas, Plecos, Corys, Plants, Shrimp, Dwarf Crayfish, Otocinclus, Algae eaters, Nerite Snails, Assassin snails. I only had one failure with Clown Loaches but that was my bad water parameters and I didn't blame the store or whine on the phone. I learned from my mistake. This place used to be really good, but idk now. I got my first betta from here a couple years ago and he was really beautiful and healthy and lived for a few years. I went back a few months ago for another and was disappointed to see all of their bettas in poor care. A few were dead. The owner, or at least I assume, was near me the whole time I was looking at them (he was constantly by me the first time too, awkward) so I felt pressured to buy one, even though they all looked sick. I tried my best but the poor thing wouldn't eat anything and ended up dying. I got a couple snails too and they died as well somehow. I know it's the quality of their fish causing the deaths and not my own care because other fish I got from Petco are still thriving in my tank. This one is half my fault, but I still think it's worth mentioning. While my betta was still alive, I went here to get more fish, like cleaners, to build a community tank. I told one of the sales people all about my betta tank and spotted a pricey mini lobster and impulse bought it. It died within a day. The sales person failed to note that this mini lobster has very specific pH requirements that isn't compatible with a betta tank. If I was in his position, I would have said something. But they have a no refund policy so I guess they care more about sales than the health of their fish. I'll give them a star because they do have good prices and sales on supplies, but because they don't take proper care of their fish I wouldn't give them my business. read more

My fish expensive died within 24 hours...They have a sign 'no warranty' -but I really like the fish.. Well now Out the money.. Both Petsmart & Petco offer fish warranty and money back warranty.. . The fish according to an aquarium friend - might have had Capillaria after look at it with a microscope. I do agree with the selection is great.. read more

The owner Rich is very knowledgeable and always willing to answer any questions. Both Rich and Gabe have taken very good care of us since we have been buying our fish there. The fact that they actually sell the water in my case for a fresh water tank was a game changer not only does it make tank maintenance much easier, but, I believe it is much less stressful for our fish. I got three fish today.. and I Acclimated then for 15 min and they seemed fine.. two hours later I find out one had swim blatter and gave it to my other fish I had previously in the tank. You spend so much for the workers not to care for them. Horrible. Update.. I woke up this morning to find the rest of my fish dead. These people are selling sick fish. The owner of this place ( Rich) has the absolute worst attitude. He seems like he doesn't want to be bothered. When asking him advise or questions, he gives very short snippy answers as he walks away from you. It's like you're bothering him to be a patron of his store and spend money. His prices are no bargain. The quality is also not great. I've purchased tropical aquarium items and they didn't survive through the week. Had my water tested at a Petco and the results were perfect. The big corporate shops in the area are more reasonably priced. They also give a 30 day warranty. I've heard this from friends who live in the area, but attempted to give a small business owner the business and a chance. Big mistake. I won't be inconveniencing him any longer. Wouldn't be surprised if he is gone with in the next 2-5 years. The positive posts on this guy, must be good friends or family. read more

I keep fish, specifically fancy goldfish and this particular shop when I visited had a very good selection of different kinds. Most pet stores do not have near selection of goldfish that this place had and forget about the large chainstores. The prices were fair and the fish in the tanks looked healthy as well. On top of it, the store is well laid out with good lighting and uncluttered aisles. The two goldfish I purchased last year are doing great. read more

I'll never go to any other pet supply store again. A hidden gem. With the big chain pet stores, many forget there are independant pet stores that offer a superior experience. We ordered a harness online for our puppy and it was way too small (despite her matching the measurements on the website). We were behind ShopRite and decided to try the shop so we wouldn't have to go across town. The shop was SPOTLESS. The rows were logically organized. The selection (of course) isn't as massive as a chain store, but that's not a bad thing - there are only good quality products. No poorly made items to have to dig through to find what you need. We bought a better quality harness for half of what the too-small one cost. Yep, the prices are amazing, too. The customer service was amazing - not only did the gentleman there show us around but he talked to us about the product (treats) they had in stock. He was super knowledgable about every corner of that store and truly appreciative of our business. Even though it wasn't our thing, there were tropical fish there that I've never seen before. Incredibly beautiful and well cared for with clean tanks and vibrant colors ... and the most beautiful jellyfish! A treat for the eyes. The proprietors work hard and truly care for their business and our pets. If you give anyone else your money for pet supplies, you're robbing yourself. read more

Really great for fresh and saltwater fish and supplies. Rich and his staff were so helpful to us in setting up our freshwater tank. Truly know a lot about fish! All their fish are quality fish. Prices are fair too. Wish they had a little more stock of fish but that's the only con and it's not that bad of a thing, 'quality vs. quantity'. t's about a 25 mile drive for me but it's worth the trip. They have great quality driftwood for good prices. Customer service is excellent with very friendly staff. I'll continue to come back to Fish and Pet Plus for all my aquarium needs. read more

As a customer, the place is wonderful. Clean, neat, good fish and pets. Their selection of pet products is really great as well. I worked there for a very short amount of time before I realized the owner does not train, or take care of his employees well at all. I got treated very poorly even after I wasn't properly trained. He was very mean, and showed no kindness to me at all right from the start. the perfect place to get your pet supplies if you are an aquarium owner. the owner is just about as knowledgeable as it gets. the other employees are kind of dumb in this particular field but what are you gonna do. the snakes/mice/bugs for purchase are pretty overpriced but they are the only place in town that sell them now that fin fur and feathers is out of business. all in all a great pet store read more
